A lot of people don't understand what happened to Ravus so I will explain: When General Glauca was killed, Ravus was promoted to High Commander of the Imperial Army. During the scene where Emperor Iedolas Alderact is sitting at his throne with everyone, he orders Ravus to kill the Oracle (his sister). He refuses to go with the order, and Verstael and Ardyn both concur. It is at this point Verstael promotes Ravus. All along, Ravus was safeguarding Luna from Imperial harm and begrudgingly helping her summon the Astrals to Noctis' aid. He even mentions that he would gladly hand over King Regis' royal arms to the prince when they meet. Once the Empire catches winds of Ravus' behind-close-doors actions, they decide to decommission him and have him executed; the botched mission to slay Leviathan was used as an excuse. When you arrive to Tenebrae to let the passengers off the train from harm's way, you notice that the House Fleuret is set ablaze. As reprisal for Ravus' betrayal, and ineptitude to complete his mission in Accordo, Niflheim releases daemons to burn the place down. The moment you find Ravus' body in Zagnautus Keep, and reclaim the Sword of the Father, you also see Imperial soldier's bodies as well, insinuating he put up a fight before being slain in battle. However, just like the Emperor, the daemon technology Ardyn influenced the Niflheim to use managed to partially re-animate the elder Nox Flueret and what you see is whom you must do battle with. It should be noted, during this battle, he blames Ardyn for everything that has happened.
However, Ravus' feelings with regard to the Lucians still confuse me as we never hear those feelings from his own mouth. It came to the point where I even questioned whether he was ever out to get Regis at all, or if it was all a just a ploy to get the ring and be the hero that he didn't think Noctis or Regis could be, resulting in his arm getting destroyed. I can't imagine that after all those years, just a threat toward his ever-dutiful sister and her own stubbornness is what convinced him to just help Noct willingly.
I personally think after the negotiations with Niflheim and the realization that Regis tried protecting his son , made him flashback t the time of the fall of his own home. Realizing that Regis had in fact come there to save the royal family of Tenebra but arriving too late and tried saving Luna as Ravus held his mothers dead corpse. Regis never went after the Tenebra's for having (forcefully) or in Ravus' case willingly conspired with Niflheim. Realizing that his sister was doomed to be executed by the gods as a means for completing their needed contracts or by the Empire to ensure such never happened...He probably looked at his sister in a new light , knowing full well that she faced her destiny despite the grim odds that were placed against her. He probably spent so many days and nights cursing his own weakness and his own needless hatred against a prince who had in fact done no wrong to him. So all in all he began his soul searching , seeing both gears turn on both fronts, and starts to realize , only one had righteous cause.
His Dudeness Spot on. Have a good feeling that Ravus will end up being the guest character in episode Ignis. Hopefully more people will understand his motives then
Let me do this fast ardyn shape shiffted into noctis killed ravus if you didn't know already that use real pepole to make deamons and ravus was dead so he was the next experiment only half of is body was used because noctis was getting close to breaking out so they rushed it unfortunately ravus wasn't failed he dropped out to stop them I played both of the sides of chapter 13 so I gathered up as much info as possible and that summaries it(edit)arydn decided that if they didn't defeat ravus he would release the daemons he deafeted ravus and he summoned the daemons noctis got to the crystal but he got sucked in while the others were fighting the daemons the daemons escaped leaving the world in danger noct was stuck and he was ready to be released then its chapter 14
Yup. Difference is, Ardyn is fought solo, as well as having a very confusing fighting style (including abusing the camera by zipping all over the place before attacking), while Ravus is fought by a party of three. He also has Element - Fire (50) and a crippling weakness to Luna's Trident, I think. Edit: Apparently, I can't count to four and no one bothered to correct me...
Ravus deserved so much more development, screen time, etc. etc. I mean I know Ardyn mis like 2300 years old or something but Ravus was just so. Awesome.
I fought him with the Sword of the Father that he tried to deliver to us and killed him off with his sister's trident. I made it more emotional for myself than the game tried to.
The Zard Some scenes in the game are far away from Noctis. The concept you hinted at is only present in the last third of the game, wich creates some kind of incontionouity. (Is that the right word? English is not my native language, and I struggle to find a better word.)
Actually the overhaul is planned for a far great deal more than just 13. That's only a small part, as they've pointed out having Luna join up with the group much sooner in the plot, making characters be around longer or stay in the group, having a good deal more of the empire map be explorable than just the 3 stops are all also among the plans for the free DLC patches. Doubt the patch would take several months if it was as simple as overhauling just one of the chapters.
Ravus as a character is one of the biggest examples of how clearly a lot of major stuff in the story was just randomly cut out. It's really disappointing because the story is alright in its current form... but it would've been SOOOO much better with proper storytelling. Even with watching Kingsglaive and Brotherhood, there are so many story elements that are never fully explored and it's really sad.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed it. Ravus was being built up as a major antagonist in the background of the game, only for... this to happen. I'm hoping the character DLCs or something expose what actually happened. Judging by the state of his corpse, it seemed like Ravus used Regis' glaive in a final stand against a fuck ton of daemons. At the very least, I'd like to see what happened to him during the events of Altissia, since they went out of their way to show he was there. My theory is that he was the one who blinded Ignis during a showdown, since he was there to kill Leviathan and Ignis would've tried to stop him.
+Brady Gillespie: Well, and it's just so confusing because he's built up as an antagonist like you said and then out of nowhere you're informed that he is happy to hear you have the ring. Never explained. And then suddenly Noctis is cool with Ravus despite him betraying Luna, his father, and the kingdom of Lucis as a whole. I don't know, the story just feels like a 1000-piece puzzle and someone only decided to put together 400 of the pieces and called it good. Which is disappointing because the story has so much potential, but it just didn't reach it.
C4DNerd not to mention how the empire had like 5-6 members and their not even main bosses half of them. the empire had f***** ultimate control and then nothing they destroyed themselves before you can. they dont even show how they got defeated. you not a resident evil your a final fantasy so start acting like it.
Ravus should have been a recurring boss with his demon form being the last fight. I was so hyped to fight him when he first showed up at the base only for ardyn to break up the fight before it even starts
YungTimeWeaver my thoughts exactly. I anticipated ravus to be a badass because of his demeanor. Turned out to be a one and done mindless boss fight in the end. Unfortunate.
My feelings exactly. My team got wiped out, so I fought him one on one, which felt the honorable thing to do. This battle is easily one of the best in the game, not to mention how emotional it is. Ravus had his faults, but he never deserved this.
I think that other Imperial guy, the one who you try to capture but escapes when it's left to Ignis talks about killing Jared when you're stalking him. Can't for the life of me remember his name though.
Mekkah Dee Yeah kind of a waste of time wasnt it? Like Loqi, remember him? Yeah dudnt matter for very long before he blew up with his mech. And we never see the emperor and white bearded general dude after the first cutscene. Who knows what happened to the general, but the emperor doesnt make a lick of a mention until he comes out of nowhere, becomes a demon, and then dies easily after a minute. This game felt so rushed
Man, just imagine how epic this fight would have been if Ravus was developed as a character. It's so obvious they had to rush everything out the door and that this was supposed to be this really hard fought really emotionally tough battle. But instead it's just a hard boss. I can't believe how much potential this game in general wasted by rushing itself out the door. I would have gladly waited another 2 years for better.
TheIceLurker I totally agree. I am among the few, but i wholeheartedly believe that this game was rushed as a story. Ravus is not a character we know well enough and he isnt a character we see enough. And i WANT to know more about him. I thought their would be more to his story down the line but their wasnt and im dissapointed
They were contracted to release the game in 2016 and nothing later. My bet is had they put story first we would have had a sick and true FF title but instead they decided to flesh out the world more and that's why the story is lacking due to cut features. Plus game size. Had they made the right sacrifice at least the story wouldn't have gone the path it did but If they had more time they could have gotten both done.
Isiah Sweeting To me, a good story in a straightforward game is far more a complete experience than an open world experience. To me, a game cant have an open world without an amazing story that is broken into pieces
I dont get the complaints of when a game goes linear for a story mission. I mean, even in the early parts of the game, if you're doing a story mission, or any mission, it's going to be linear for the moment of going from A to B. I don't like linear games as much, I mean I have an appreciation for them now because I'm older and don't have as much time, but you can get a better story out of something as confined as a linear game. FFXV did end up pretty short, lol. I do wonder if it had to be re-written or something. The point it starts to feel rushed is when the tone starts to get depressing. Or perhaps it was going to get depressing anyway, the whole story leads in that direction as some pre-ordained fate story that it is. Noctis' friends should have been in the ending though.
This theme for me is such a complete orquestal masterpiece when you break it down. At the beginning you can hear the blaring of the horns as if announcing a tragic prince who should/would be king. Intricately Shinomura incorporates different elements of other themes that shape this character into this deamon presented in this battle as a result. For example there are bits of the Nifleheim theme in reference to his captivity and inevitable servitude to the enemy. It later progress to Lunas theme as if to make a statement on how he reached this state of inhumanity in order to protect her and at the same time it seems as though it mourns the loss of his sister and the tragedies their lives have resulted in by having destiny run its course. All in all wrapping these different themes into a feeling of desperation for it to end with its continuos daunting string and horn combination.
Omg thank you for this breakdown, love the art analysis! I'm on the film side of things so can only understand film analysis. I don't really know anything about music to analyze it so I really appreciate you pointing these things out.
When I battled Ravus, I was WAAAY overleveled (late 60's). I even had the Durandal (super effective against daemons), and this fight STILL took me a long time.
Damn dude i was in level 67 My team level around 66,65,63 and full upgrade ultimate blade.and this boss still freaking strong make me to spam elixir, mega elixir,potion,Hi-Potion.
Im not kidding when I say I was level 102 with a full lv 101 party when I came to zegnautus keep, this was like my 6th playthrough, so if you wanna ask my prodigal method, it is sticking around in chapter 8 and garuda farming for the sword since I had no patience for balmung
The story of Ravus; Having his mother killed in front of him, his land stolen, his pride broken and he sacrificed his honor by serving those who caused him all this to try to protect his sister from an unavoidable fate. In the end he tries to fix all his wrongs by delivering King Regis' blade to Noctis rebelling against the empire in despair knowing that the fate of her sister was now scarred and he had failed to protect her...but fails to do that as well.. But being killed wasn't enough, he was turned into a Daemon. And with little humanity left, he begs Noctis, the man who is the blame for Luna's death, to end his life. This song has a remixed part with the sister theme and the trident, the sister weapon, is super effective against him. a real tragedy that shows how much life sucks and how much potential this character could have"A sorry end for the high commander- for anyone. He was a man with hopes and dreams." -Gladiolus
I went into the whole ending extremely under leveled and the difficulty of the fight and the whole ending made it so much better. Every mistake meant either a hi-elixer or Phoenix down. The rogue axemen cut me down in a single slice, and almost all of Ravus' moveset annihilated everyone besides noct and gladio. The final chapters of the game are tonally perfect. The ambient music and dark, empty atmosphere of Nifleheim along with Ardyn laughing at you through the loudspeakers gave the ending an incredible finale. You really feel Noctis' struggle and the madness, evil, and overall malice that Ardyn feels.
This song is so epic I use it almost daily when I'm working. It makes me wish Ravus had a more complete story to go along with it. Would have tripled the epicness of this fight.
Just wanna show some love here- FFxv might be my fav of them all. I know the game gets a lot of hate but I’ve beaten 1-15 and I just love this game. I think people are too stubborn to move past what it was at launch. Every time the team lets out more content a lot of people go “just let it die it’s never going to be complete!” I hope we see more of Ravis in Ep ignis but honestly, he was tragic. This is how tragedy is done. Ravus was overlooked by everyone, including his superiors, while he performed one of the most important jobs in the game. Without him, Luna might not have made it, noct might have missed out on leviathan and the sword of the father. No one knew about him, not even the player. Then he got shafted. THATS what we see here, in my opinion. Not that he was “dropped”. I think this is unique storytelling. We didn’t get a hundred scenes showing how Ravus was “secretly” the good guy. We got a handful, a surprise, and then we had to put the poor bastard down ourselves. Far more effective to me.
@@shadowofdread7018 plz don´t offend Ravus like this. Ravus is a rly strong Character with some personality. He doesn´t need tons of equipment to be strong, he is already strong. Not like Batman who is just a rich weird kiddo that fears bats.
The dlc coming 22 December will probably show us what happens, seeing that arm ripped off kinda makes me think his arm went out of control like the Rogue Magitek units did because they were made of daemons, maybe he fought himself xD
Mhkek Agendo actually the magiteck arm is because he lost his arm in Kingsglaive, he tried to take the power of the ring of lucii for himself, but was judged unworthy by the old kings, a curse that burns the body activated, but he took off the ring his time, losing only his arm ...
Yes i know that, but i think you misunderstood what i said. His arm is made out of the same stuff as the magitek units which is daemons, and in chapter 13 everything related or connected to daemons went shit because they grew stronger and the outbreak happend, that arm connected to Ravus must have caused some trouble aswell
My favorite boss theme in the whole game. I like to think the thumps are the sounds his heart makes, and it's just beating like that due to the fact that Ardyn wants to make a beat for this badass boss theme lol
This is a game I want to see remade down the line. Had the potential to be the best in the series, hands down. Also, some of the best music in the series...which is high praise considering some of the classics.
Raevus was by far the toughest fight for me. And I love his character. It's a shame he and Ardyn weren't fleshed out more in the story. I know there's some fantastic backstory in there somewhere!
This theme is so amazing and he's sooooo hard to beat too, so that fits together for an amazing boss battle. But I still feel bad for him that he was going to Rest In Peace until freaking Ardyn did that to him ;((((((
Definitely one of the harder fights in that game... Not to mention I marathoned that chapter... Actually, chapter 13 was so long it could be its own spinoff novel.
Yeah. I liked the suspense it gave up until after the really difficult demon chased me through the corridors. After that, I was tired and ready for a boss fight and the end of the chapter. It would have been great if it didn't go on an extra hour after that, honestly.
I think fight he might scale with your level, I did it at level 120 party, and still was getting instant danger status when hit. Music track is great as is many of them in late chapters. Chapter 13 best of game, despite the chapt 13 haters.
His boss theme is the remix of Niflheim's theme and the Songs of Stars. It shows how he is both Niflheim's high commander and possess the blood of the Oracle-- Lunafreya's brother. This theme is very well arranged. Damn.
Im very curious what cutscenes they will add in the future, and where they'll be placed. But I want at least one cutscene with a furious ravus confronting ardyn about luna. At least, make his death not offscreen like so many other characters in this game
(SPOILERS) I'm curious about what cutscenes they'll add. I'm curious about the upcoming DLC for the bros. I'm curious about what they consider good to be a MP mode. I'm curious whether Noctis is really done or not. I'm curious about if the sales and DLC income is good enough, they go even further with campaigns as/involving Ardyn, Luna, etc. So much to be curious about. What will FFXV look like in 2017? 2018? ..2019? (PC version?) Ahh.
Malcolm Swoboda the story is not really complete at the moment, with the cutscenes that will be added later and the dlc episodes that fill in the wierd gaps in the story (who knows when theyll all be finished). I guess they knew they just didnt have enough time to add all that they wanted before release, or maybe the game disc really is full so they have to update the rest in. anyway I hope the dlc isnt stand alone, but rather plays automatically once you reach the part of the story when its supposed to happen. it would be such a waste of potential to not make a pc version too (which would already have all this missing content by the time it comes out)
I thought thought the overall story and character development for Noct has been solid. But yeah, too many missing gaps. Feels very incomplete. Not sure if you've played Type-0, but XV seems to suffer in a minor way the Type-0 did. Focusing so much on world events when they could have been focusing on cool characters like Ravus and Luna.
Andreas Michael Design Yeah. I dunno about you but I thought Class 0 were a charming bunch! They seemed like anime tropes at first but they seemed to have different sides to them as well. I was hoping to see them develop better and interact more.
This game deserves a remaster. It had so many bad things happen, with one of the biggest being the director change. That'll derail any creation. I hope it gets done justice some time in the future
should have been multiple fights throughout the game. 1st fight: at the base. Basically curbstomps your squad. 2nd fight: In Altissa. Same fight, but you're stronger now. Prove your worth to face Leviathan. 3rd fight: this one. but should have played out a different. Phase 1 this fight. beat him. ardyn rezzes him. phase 2 defense up. give him souleater. beat him again. ardyn rezzes him. phase 3 attack up. give him extra 50k hp, besrerker mode, and zantetsuken.
This fight is messed up, man. First Ardyn killed his sister, now killed him, even corrupt his body to be another pawn of his. By far, the most tragic FF I ever played, I just played few of the series anyway.
This is one of the saddest boss fights along with the turtle from shadow of the colossus, lady Maria of the astral clocktower from bloodborne, ceadeus from monster hunter, and the beast (agustin Lambert) from amnesia the bunker
Doctor Flimflim For the life of me I can't hear Somnus in this song and I have no idea why, I practically listen to it on a daily basis. Around when in the song does it come in?
Sorry, that was a comment that got mixed up with a video for Magna Insomnia. Although, it's worth noting that a significant theme interwoven in this piece's fight is Song of the Stars (at around 1:55). Somnus doesn't pop up (unless that motif is also hidden in here somewhere). Sorry for the mix up. :P
This personally was one of my hardest boss battles. When it was my time to get out of there I gunned it running past every single enemy. I died like three times until I decided to just gun it past the enemies. It was so flipping funny.
With the way i played Kingdom Hearts, i took over into this. I make sure i'm a decent level before i go on. I think i was like level 62 with some pretty good weapons. Ultima blade, sword of the father, blade of the mystic, and drain lance 3. It was still challenging tho lol
Joe Parrotta just like how the fight with riku when he was possessed by ansem in kingdom hearts was harder than the actual final boss of the game ( ansem )
Nagarani, Deadeye, Titan, Leviathan, that ice creature, that creature from the fortress, Marlboro have NOTHING on him. dude the constant Phonixes I had to use. he better be playable in DLC and strong like Virgil was in DMC4!
THat fucking explosion attack, everytime reduces my hp to zero without fail. Even if I can avoid it, doesnt mean my teamates will. Then im stuck wasting potions on them
and coincidentally enough the only boss before the postgame that would still fuck up level 80+ parties. Yeah you could kill him quick at that point, but he can do the same to you. Honestly the most well designed boss fight in the main storyline, the hardest, and the most fun to fight all at the same time
like even royal edition's chapter 14 was still really well done, but this was that moment that from the moment you start fighting him, you know you're gonna get fucked up irregardless of level.
Amazing boss fight, poor backstory of ravus almost nonexistent but I really enjoyed his character nonetheless, this fight is the elixir killer and mega potion or any sort of curative, especially Phoenix downs...
I can't imagine how extremely hard is for Ignis to fight Ravus while being blind.... Poor Ignis....

The trident is very effective against him, actually, so it's more emotional than at first glance...
The trident ends up being the best weapon for him in my opinion. I'm sure this was done on purpose
@@ezekielbaskerville2710 might just be that he's a demon, and the trident is a royal arm
@@BigBilly2001 The guy who made the video used two Royal Arms in the fight, and they lacked the orange numbers that denote a target's weakness
Ravus was such a good and interesting character. Only to be dropped like he wasn't.
Adam Clark IKR. he was so intimidating. Im so glad this chapter is getting a overhaul once the update drops
I think the whole third segment of the game needs an overhaul, not just chapter 13... Too many characters getting dropped.

Good thing Square just announce that one of the free updates will include more cutscenes detailing the journey of Ravus and why he did what he did,
Will they also explain how the empire fell so quickly?
The score in XV was nothing short of a masterpiece on in its own right..

Actually in ignis episode he is a boss
This was one of my favorite boss fights of the game. This was amazingly fun, challenging, and the theme with it put up a pretty intense conflict.
My feelings exactly. My team got wiped out, so I fought him one on one, which felt the honorable thing to do. This battle is easily one of the best in the game, not to mention how emotional it is. Ravus had his faults, but he never deserved this.
KailReborn Ikr I actually thought Ravus was badass
KailReborn Well he did probably kill Jared. And even so, he did command an army. You think he was camping with them in a medow?
Isiah Sweeting I hope this future free DLC that they are adding that's gonna enhance the story, is worth it.
The use of the horns in parts of the song does evoke "Imperial March" from Star Wars somewhat, least to me, only adds to the song's tragic context.
Omg thank you for this breakdown, love the art analysis! I'm on the film side of things so can only understand film analysis. I don't really know anything about music to analyze it so I really appreciate you pointing these things out.
Like 5 years later, and I'm still amazed by the soundtrack of this game. Yoko is a genius
Yoko outdid herself with this one
It was Yoshitaka Suzuki
@@Nexdex nah, it's credited to her both on YT music and Spotify.
@@Model_BT-7274 @Nexdex You're both right; Yoko Shimomura composed it, while Yoshitaka Suzuki arranged it
When I battled Ravus, I was WAAAY overleveled (late 60's). I even had the Durandal (super effective against daemons), and this fight STILL took me a long time.
I fought him in level 30 and almost didn't make it💀
I was Level 120 and he nearly killed me.
I was around the recommended level (about 40 or so iirc) and I was stuck down to spamming potions with Noct and Gladio
Where is the story about Ravus's mother?
This description made me more emotional than the entire main game did.
@@emmaknightley the kingsglaive movie
@krazyxki because you don't have comprehensive skills?
Interesting seeing how some people really love the ending, while some hate it~
"Uh, Ravus? You've got something on your, um...everything."
"Hurry up and kill it, then!"
"Less gab, more stab, got it. Sorry, man."
Far more effective to me.
this was to me the hardest story boss
Shin Uchiha Agreed
Reminded me of the Ansem-Riku fight in the original Kingdom hearts in some ways.
zero5559 probably because both Riku and Ravus were possessed by main story antagonists
Meet cerberus.
I kinda agree I struggled on final boss for hours
This is a sorry end for the high commander, for anyone. He was a man with hopes and dreams
It’s horrible…
After Aranea the Dragoon , Ravus the Dark Knight

Plot Twist: Ravus is the FF version of Batman.
*The Dark Knight movie theme plays*
@@shadowofdread7018 plz don´t offend Ravus like this. Ravus is a rly strong Character with some personality. He doesn´t need tons of equipment to be strong, he is already strong. Not like Batman who is just a rich weird kiddo that fears bats.
@@Igorragna you must not know a lot about batman, with that shallow description.
@@Igorragna Ravus is a man with hopes and dreams, this is a sorry end for him, for anyone
I wish we got to see him trying to avenge his sister. :( Ravus vs Ardyn
Horri Siel We never saw the power of Crystal of House Tenebrae.... A damn shame
There's only the one crystal, the one in Insomnia that was given to the King of Lucis along with the Ring of the Lucii.
I hope in the future update we get to see more of Ravus I'm very interested in why he is the way he is. Also this boss fight was pretty awesome.
Thanks for not putting a spoiler on the thumbnail 👍🏻
This is a game I want to see remade down the line. Had the potential to be the best in the series, hands down. Also, some of the best music in the series...which is high praise considering some of the classics.
Ravus DLC please! Ravus vs Ardyn would be great!
Daniel Lee It’s happening next year. (:
Pinkcut It was cancelled
Raevus was by far the toughest fight for me. And I love his character. It's a shame he and Ardyn weren't fleshed out more in the story. I know there's some fantastic backstory in there somewhere!
This theme is so amazing and he's sooooo hard to beat too, so that fits together for an amazing boss battle. But I still feel bad for him that he was going to Rest In Peace until freaking Ardyn did that to him ;((((((
One of the best boss themes ever
If ardyn did this to nyx or Regis that would've been some fight too. Or even glauca if you wish
Ryan Baybayan that would be crazy
Or all 3 at once..
Definitely one of the harder fights in that game...
Not to mention I marathoned that chapter... Actually, chapter 13 was so long it could be its own spinoff novel.
SonicPrototype ikr 10-12 flew by and ch 13 would never end
Yeah. I liked the suspense it gave up until after the really difficult demon chased me through the corridors. After that, I was tired and ready for a boss fight and the end of the chapter. It would have been great if it didn't go on an extra hour after that, honestly.
This was indeed a long chapter, but the ending to this was more than worth it!
His Dudeness
I'd agree for the most part. I think that it could've been an hour shorter, though, and still had the same pay-off.
***** When the DLC comes out, Chapter 13 will be longer! lol
it's a remix of Prologue Theme from Kingsglaive when Ravus's mom got stabbed by Glauca
Marendra Adhipura disturbingly fitting considering that moment is what defined Ravus' actions throughout the movie and game
i knew i heard it before !
I think fight he might scale with your level, I did it at level 120 party, and still was getting instant danger status when hit.
Music track is great as is many of them in late chapters. Chapter 13 best of game, despite the chapt 13 haters.
Awesome theme, broken boss. Be ready for spamming those healing objects.
10:24 "Nice one, Gladio!"
Yeah, so many fricking consumables. And as much as I love Dawnhammer from Gladio, that happens way too much ;(
Got anymore of them Elixirs?
put on an anklet or choker brutha
His boss theme is the remix of Niflheim's theme and the Songs of Stars. It shows how he is both Niflheim's high commander and possess the blood of the Oracle-- Lunafreya's brother.
This theme is very well arranged. Damn.
game was so easy than I got here with my meh stats we were all like lvl 37 and a blind ignis...
broken rapture I didn't lol I want to so bad
broken rapture I meant like once ignis lost his sight in the story shit got stupidly hard
I was hoping to see Hard mode on New Game+, so sad =(
GUSRG there is a new nil expirence band to create a challenge in game thats the new hard mode
You were fighting a resident evil boss over here :D
Man he was a son-of-a-bitch. I had like 15 Mega Phoenixes saved up and use all of them on this fight. Even Ifrit was easier!
Yeah he was the hardest boss for me, he took the longest and took the most items etc.
Mekkah Dee I see you guys haven't fought MA-X Angelus-0 and Naglfar yet
KazuyaVanguardTV is that loki and whats his name piloting it? i defeatef them both with less effort then this boss
nvm its that big ass megitank that lvl 99
it depends the level you are ( well i think i was too overleved 70 :p )
Devil and tragic theme, beautiful !!
Jared FINALLY had a path to The Lands...
Lmao 11:05 the music sync
Hard to pull off
you almost feel the pain that Ravus felt when you face him... this song is in the top 3 of the game.
First ive heard someone mention Type-0, but youre right. It also had vague, off-screen story moments that left players in the dark.
Andreas Michael Design
Yeah.
Definitly my favorite boss that isn't a summon
Shlompskii He's one of mine too, another of my favourites is Zanza from Xenoblade chronicles
@@nathanegan9813 men of culture, i see
This game does get pretty edgy around the end. A real contrast to the lighthearted feel of the rest of the game.
should have been multiple fights throughout the game.
Wew lad, just a minute, this fight was already difficult enough lmao. But you're right about the rest.
Oh god yes that would have been perfect
Ravus would be like spectating while you try to get Leviathan bended over
Malcolm Fitzpatrick that sounds like an awesome idea
This fight is messed up, man. First Ardyn killed his sister, now killed him, even corrupt his body to be another pawn of his. By far, the most tragic FF I ever played, I just played few of the series anyway.
Try FF Type-0 as it hold the top most tragic story of FF for me followed by Crisis Core and Tactics:War of the Lions.
This song is so powerful! I keep listening to it to plan battle scenes on my RPG campaing.
My favorite boss
Never played this game in the series but just fought Ravus on FFRK and WOW, this music!!!! :O
poor Iggy :( it really hurt seeing him like that
Yeah it's horrible. And the fact that nobody else had anything like it...
I just wish there was more emphasis on the fact that Noct had to take care of Iggy like he cared for noctis. Still emotional nonetheless
I didn't like 15 but DAMN this theme is FIRE!!
I kept expecting him to say STARS!
You want STARS? I'll give you STARS
Edit: wow that was super late reply
The sad part of this theme is it contains Lunafreya's theme within it. :(
Actually "A Song to the Stars". Luna's theme is different
This is one of the saddest boss fights along with the turtle from shadow of the colossus, lady Maria of the astral clocktower from bloodborne, ceadeus from monster hunter, and the beast (agustin Lambert) from amnesia the bunker
for a counterpart, he is Cid Raines in japanese voice actor
One of the few 'proper' bosses in this game.
Ravus really fucked shit up.
The Resident Evil stage with the Resident Evil boss.
Okay but this beat was lit
When that aura surrounds him and he gets ready to do that 9999+ attack, warp fast as shit
This boss actually wasn't that hard, ignis kept dying tho
OAlmightyJohnGaming can't blame him he was blind he was trying his best
THIS FIGHT WAS INSANE
That opening melody... I wish it would go on forever.
This boss battle is my favourite. Like if you agree.
I like how Somnus is interwoven among these significant battle pieces. The last fights too.
So funny seeing blind ignis hobble towards him to get wrecked so hard lol
Timestamp?
This personally was one of my hardest boss battles. When it was my time to get out of there I gunned it running past every single enemy. I died like three times until I decided to just gun it past the enemies. It was so flipping funny.
Amazing boss battle the major reason ii'm doing new game plus to fight him again.
Like 30 seconds into the fi- aaaaaaaaand prompto's dead.
If you ever wanted to fight the power of a god in FFXV, fight Ravus.
The man is so powerful he can one shot your Arminger form.
With the way i played Kingdom Hearts, i took over into this. I make sure i'm a decent level before i go on. I think i was like level 62 with some pretty good weapons. Ultima blade, sword of the father, blade of the mystic, and drain lance 3. It was still challenging tho lol
Personally loved this fight xD

3:38 I had no idea you could save yourself after that final blow to Noct
If you know Song of the Stars was goanna be played Lunafreya's abuse and this song is remix of that it hurts much more.
Ignis has an ability which you can unlock at the ascension screen which analyzes an opponents weakness and shows their health.
Reminds me a lot of Cid's boss in XIII. Cause like, "Oh I'm here time for a boss"
The songs so good.
Did the fix ravus's story in the final version of the game?
There's a bit more of him in episode Ignis. Nothing to save the mess that is the storytelling of this game but ey... it's something
Its THE boss of this game !
I wish we could learn more about his character.. this fight was kind of fun. The guys were only a level below him and it wasn't much of a problem.
one of the devs is a massive bleach fan..... ravus looksbso much like ichigos hollow form or his eventual hybrid form.
it pains me seeing ignis fighting blind lmao
Crazy how a daemonized Ravus singlehandedly gave trouble to all four of them.
Imagine how powerful all four would be if daemonized.
There goes a boss that was harder than the actual last boss
Joe Parrotta just like how the fight with riku when he was possessed by ansem in kingdom hearts was harder than the actual final boss of the game ( ansem )
Nagarani, Deadeye, Titan, Leviathan, that ice creature, that creature from the fortress, Marlboro have NOTHING on him. dude the constant Phonixes I had to use. he better be playable in DLC and strong like Virgil was in DMC4!
THat fucking explosion attack, everytime reduces my hp to zero without fail. Even if I can avoid it, doesnt mean my teamates will. Then im stuck wasting potions on them
The only time the game looked you in the eye and said "Nah...you ain't ready."
and coincidentally enough the only boss before the postgame that would still fuck up level 80+ parties.
4:05 thank the six for Warpstrike I-frames right
I lost count on how many times Ravus Kicked my ass he was hard as hell to beat
And people were surprised I beat him at lvl 30 something. It was actually easy. You can dodge everything if You know his pattern.
Personally my favorite theme. Gives off MGS vibes.
I will admit, this was the most difficult boss fight in the game
I wanted to fight Ravus, but.....but not like this.....
😢 Rip Ravus
Amazing boss fight, poor backstory of ravus almost nonexistent but I really enjoyed his character nonetheless, this fight is the elixir killer and mega potion or any sort of curative, especially Phoenix downs...
Xenos Vertoria Maybe they create a Ravus Dlc, telling about his journey...maybe XD
douglas alves hope so that would make the fight make a lot more sense
