Fun Fact: "Out of This World" (Which I'm comfortable these days referring to as "Another World") was the whole reason I began to pursue filmmaking as an adult. I remember sitting in my 3rd grade classroom recreating the opening animation in storyboard from memory (when I should have been working on assignments), and I still daydream about landing permission to making a film adaptation of the adventure. I consider the Super Nintendo version to be the "definitive edition", with the HD Remakes a close second. The SNES version got an additional level (if I recall correctly) and is the only version to feature a super moody soundtrack... the other versions are largely silent / atmospheric only.
Oh, Heart of Darkness!! I've spend countless hours playing and replaying that game when I was younger! In fact, I still pick it up once every 2-3 years! Definitely stood the test of time!
Oh man, that intro though. "Those" kinds of gamers are the only kinds of gamers I meet here in Sweden nowadays. As for me, I started playing NES at the age of 7, and then got into SEGA games at the age of 8, and I have been a Nintendo and SEGA fan ever since. I never felt like I was immature in any way. I'm 29 now and I still am a huge Nintendo-fan. That will never change.
Daniel, ive chatted with you a bit on twitter. And I can say with confidence that you are the real deal man! You love your craft and it shows. Great f'n channel! The episodes are done so smooth that they seem like theyve been pulled from the tele. I remember staring in awe when I first watched Karateka being played. The game conveyed so much emotion while using no dialogue. I see many more subs in your near future my friend. Cheers.
RE: the Prince of Persia movie... "A movie, which was supposed to be Disney's answer to the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy." Errrrr, PotC is a Disney movie franchise...
Yup...just pray nobody goes through with the God of War trilogy of films...cause they will SUUUUUUUCk unless done perfectly. Just look at how tomb raider films sucked, even though Angie Jolie was hot as fuck.
I am not sure tbh i have not played them enough to know, the short amount that i have seen i would say not, but.Again not 100% sure. Got any suggestions on a version i should grab? My local retro shop has the mega drive version but i heard that was a rubbish port?
Hi there Slope, that's a great video about a fantastic genre. I'm passionate about cinematic platformers, especially because brilliant games like Another World (Out of This World in Brazil, I guess), Heart of Darkness and the two Abe games in the Oddworld Series have a great potential to tell stories about empathy. I think we're deeply in need of titles which tell deep stories like those in our present day world. Thanks for your video. It is very inspiring, since me and my friends are considering entering the Brazillian UA-cam community soon with educational videos about videogames and science. Keep doing the good work, chap!
Agreed! Sometimes I feel it must've been a very limited release or something, because (*exaggeration*)nobody seems to know about/talk about it where I'm from. I think I only of a few off hand.
Wow mate, just wow. That was absolutely fantastic! I can totally see all the effort you put into the editing and making of the vid, it's so well put together and you're very skilled. Heart of Darkness is one of my all time favourite games as well, and was really cool to see you mention Bruce Broughton and see Homeward Bound flash up as I own the soundtracks to both films, the first being pretty rare and expensive to pick up. Really really enjoyed that mate, excellent commentary and professionally done! :)
He's only the first cause you forget to let a brother know you had posted it!!!!! lolz This one is fantastic mate, the opening sequence made me laugh so hard I needed to stop for a moment, the chav bashing was immense. The other RGG youtube folk in there was also a wicked touch, nice one mate! Keep em coming, I can watch quality like this all day X
That's actually a pretty cool idea. There's some decent games to choose from, and even games like Terminator 2: Judgment Day on the genesis, though I'm not sure what type of shooter that would be called.
I used to love these games growing up because my dad loved them too. He used to tell me one day when I would grow up that all games would be even more realistic than these (and this was back in the Super Nintendo days). Flashback was one of my favorite and most played games on the SNES and Out of This World I only got the SNES version too, which was very difficult because of the slowdown. Oddworld was one of the games I got an early demo for with Playstation Underground on my Playstation 1 (that I still have in my closet somehow) and that became one of my favorite games ever as well once it finally came out. Such a strange dark game that was so much freakin' fun.
Excellent video, congrats! The absence of Blackthorne is kind of annoying, but I really enjoyed the love for Out of this World (one of my all time favs) and Heart of Darkness!
I remember playing the SNES port of Another World. It blew my young mind. From the difficulty, to the special little cutscene depicting your horrible death. When the genre "survival horror" first started populating the gamer language, I remember fondly recalling the memories of this game as the perfect example. Great video, as always.
Gamer Garm thanks bruvaaaaaa :) check out my sandy white video to find out what I think is the first ever survival horror game. And thanks for commenting
Absolutely stellar intro- gave me a good laugh. I was never quite of of those gamers - but never really gave platformers a chance, since the sega/sonic games of my youth- I will definitely have to go back and give the genre a try!
Is there a chance you could do the 'Oddworld Vs Microsoft Scandal: The Full Story (OddPortal)' one of these days? I definitely know some sort of schism between the two tribes happened (also with publishers GT Interactive, and Just Add Water)
Daniel Ibbertson recently found your channel Dan, cracking content I have to say! Had to comment on this video as I loved the original Prince of Persia when I was a kid (we had the MS-Dos/IBM PC compatible version)...have some very vivid and fond memories of it, particularly when I first discovered how to "defeat" the doppelgänger (was stuck at that point for ages and it was my dad who figured it out - he played the game too - and showed me how to do it haha), the first time I completed the game...and my initial encounter with the "overweight" guard/swordsman :P (which raised a chuckle from my c.7/8 year old self)
The Heart of Darkness game is such an underrated masterpiece. I LOVED it as a kid. The cutscenes were so awesome (and my PC could barely play them, they stuttered and froze a lot). Also it's the first game ever that had a life orchestra soundtrack, though because its release was delayed it's not technically the first one to do it.
Also what is that game at 14:06 with all the soldiers running to the right from something and some getting crushed? I've never even seen or heard of that before.
I rented Out of this World for SNES.......over a weekend I probably advanced no more than only a dozen screens, but it was unlike anything I'd seen the SNES capable of, the smoothness of the character's movement and actions was amazing. And Flashback ? SUCH an environment and story, to go with the excellent animation of it's predecessor. Unforgiving but rewarding to overcome.
HoD is your personal fave of cinematic platformers. Good :3 Hahaha. But seriously, I love that not only is HoD amazing, but it introduced me to a whole genre of games that brought me back into being a gamer again when I was beginning to grow weary of gaming. So yeah. And the sketch at the beginning with Call of modern Fifa 2 or whatever was hilarious.
The intro to this vid is... is the most accurate and beautiful piece of social commentary concerning the 'boy racer gamer' I've ever seen. Although, I'm sad that you skimmed over the Oddworld games...
3:10" ...But as I got older and better at these (Platformer) games, I wanted something a bit more challenging and a bit more realistic, thankful cinematic platformers did just that!" I went through the same faze, except I moved on to "VERSES FIGHTING" games and RPG games!! They're full of deep game mechanics and learning curves!!:)
Well Dan I thought I loved your channel...now I think I love it more so when I the excellent use of Goblin at the 4:00 mark...Suspiria really is a fantastic movie and soundtrack...
The end of Sonic 2 is the most cinematic I've seen a game before, at least it touched me emotionally the most. I'm in the minority. I never stopped playing platform games but then again I don't play Gears of War or Call of Duty...
You seem to be using a lot of music of the McDonalds Global Gladiators game in the endings of your video. Don't know if you covered this games, didn't find anything yet in your videos.
The other video's I do. The McDo not so much, but not because of you, more about the videogames of McDo themselves. It was just less about Global Gladiators than I thought. But I feel the same way as you on that game.
Wow another great video! Where do I start?! The intro was hilarious!!! The clapping for each Wii U mention?!?! It was also all very informative and well produced! With Flashback, is there much of a difference between the SNES and MegaDrive version? It's been on my list for a while, but some games have a slight edge on a different console. Prices are fairly good on both at the moment. + Have you ever heard of or seen the PS1 game called "Skullmonkeys"? It's another sort of cinematic platformer which uses some incredible stop motion animation (or claymation as it's sometimes known). It can be quite pricey as it's not terribly common, but it's one I've had my eye on for a very long time!
MyGamerXP Skull Monkeys, now that is a game I have not heard for ages, yes I have played that and finished it (with the help of a guide hahaha) In regards to Flashback, honestly there is only 1 way of playing it and that is by picking up the 20th anniversary edition. actually completed it recently for my #53gamechallenge :) the mega drive and snes version can battle it out to their hearts content but at the end of the day the best version is 100% the 20th anniversary edition possibly on the VITA if you can but Steam, PS4, PS3, 360, XBONE will do lol Another game that is coming out that i have a seriously close eye on is Rain World a Kickstarter game that looks WOOOOOOOOOOW
give a try from blizzard old classic BLACKTHORNE !!!!!!!!!!First released: 1994 Platforms: SNES, PC, Sega 32X, Mac, GBA Genre: Platformer Players: 1 ps lost vikings
I loved Karateka, I used to play it when I was barely 6 years old, thats just 3 years after it released. IT was great, challenging, taught about spacial reasoning and strategy and was fun. But it was a sidescrolling beat em up, not a platformer. Thats like saying all games are platforms simply because the platform to play them is a console or a computer...lol The rest of the games are in fact platformers, so you got that right. Shoulda gone back a little further though, because theres older platformers before the mid 80s. such as Pitfall from 1982 and even a few before that in the 70s. Still, a decent atempt at a vid.
Oh memories, not sure about you but I am considering The Lost Vikings (Interplay) one of the greats that should have been mentioned here. Not a cinematic platformer but a great platformer nonetheless.
There are a lot more cinematic platformers out there. www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=989633 Check this out if you are interested in the history of the genre and want to find new games.
I usually play psone games on my psvita, while laying in bed. Haven't touched my ps4 in months. It's a shame, the psvita is a psone, psp and psvita all in one, and the oled screen on my 1000 model? Brilliant.
Daniel Ibbertson Yeah it also suffers from slow downs from time to time, but the game looks beautiful and the controlls are ok too. It's just sometimes difficult finding good master system games that are actually affordable and Prince of Persia goes for around 20-25 euro in good condition with packaging and manual so I thought this is a good starter for my collection :D
What's with the "WII U" + * applause * thing??))))) Am I missing something here?) Also, I think Lester's full name is Lester Knight Chaykin, 'Knight' being the middle name, and Conrad is actually Conrad B. Hart! He was even refered to as Conrad Hart in the remake.. Which is so weird, it's more cinematic in terms of productions, but the thing that made that genre so special - the fluid movement - is gone! But I still liked it, actually)
+brtd 2005 Its just a silly thing I was doing to show off my love for the under-appreciated Wii U lol Thanks for clearing up the names mate, I always find this sorta thing a bit of a headache lol Yeah I love Cinematic Platformers of old too (obviously lol) Have you tried Unravel? Its a good game
Jesus Christ I just realized this at 2:07, 2 out of the 5 girls are drinking while pregnant, while another one of them is smoking. Cant wait to see what those kiddos are gonna look like
Seriously, who finds games like Prince of Persia fun? Cheap deaths that there is no way for you to know about until it kills you and you restart. Oh, it seems there is a pit there. Restart. Jump pit. Oh seems there are spikes there. Restart. Jump pit. Jump spikes. DEATH. Oh yeah, so FUN
Steven T The fun comes from dying over and over, learning how the game works. And then, in later levels, you can analyse where the the traps are, planning your moves accordingly. Then, when you manage to outwit the game, you get the satisfaction. But honestly, I'm not a fan of cinematic platformers, either.
I really need to play out of this world and flashback. And oh my god someone finally talking about heart of darkness I love that game probably one of my favorites but fuck that ending the ending pissed me off so much it almost made me not like the game, such a challenge only for a shit ending, but other than that ending a masterpiece of a game
I have never played the game myself but i have this weird feeling that the Heart of Darkness is an analogy for alcoholism, the kid goes anywhere for Whiskey.
Zero Blackthorne and a passing one second mention of the fantastic Oddworld series. What a shit video. More accurate title: "Fellating Jordan Belchner with a side of Hearts of Darkness".
Heart of Darkness sucks a big one. It's the perfect game for watching a longplay of it but never playing it yourself. There's a reason why Prince of Persia and Oddworld are highly regarded and HoD was quickly forgotten. Absolutely dreadful combat and lacking in puzzles, it starts out ok but takes a nosedive one third into the game and never recovers.
Fun Fact: "Out of This World" (Which I'm comfortable these days referring to as "Another World") was the whole reason I began to pursue filmmaking as an adult. What do you mean bruv? Don't wanna play Madden FIFA Call of Doody Modern Crapfare? Shame.... ;)
Daniel, ive chatted with you a bit on twitter. And I can say with confidence that you are the real deal man! You love your craft and it shows. Great f'n channel! wow that was nice to read, thanks so much for the kind words. i hope i continue to impress
Slopes Game Room has some of the best videos.
Cannot believe you didn't mention Blackthorne.
Too true, clearly similar to PoP but with it's own personality - something far too satisfying to use that shotgun 😈
You are the man! I love Heart of Darkness! It was amazing at it's time and still holds up til this day.
RE: the Prince of Persia movie... "A movie, which was supposed to be Disney's answer to the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy."
Errrrr, PotC is a Disney movie franchise...
Well if Disney was THAT confused, then that would explain a lot about the PoP movie.
Yup...just pray nobody goes through with the God of War trilogy of films...cause they will SUUUUUUUCk unless done perfectly. Just look at how tomb raider films sucked, even though Angie Jolie was hot as fuck.
would you ever say the shadow of the beast games were cinematic?
I am not sure tbh i have not played them enough to know, the short amount that i have seen i would say not, but.Again not 100% sure. Got any suggestions on a version i should grab? My local retro shop has the mega drive version but i heard that was a rubbish port?

Mduenisch It released at a very bad time in the year and state of the video game industry.
I bought Heart of Darkness with my first paycheck, along with Parasite Eve and Spyro the Dragon. Still one of my all time favorite games.
Wow mate, just wow. That was absolutely fantastic! I can totally see all the effort you put into the editing and making of the vid, it's so well put together and you're very skilled. ***** ahhhhhh cheers mate :) this video was always one I knew I was going to do from the very beginning and its one of my favs.
LOVED IT!!!

Keep em coming, I can watch quality like this all day X
Always a pleasure buddy :) working on #7 as we speak thanks for the kind words
Would you consider doing a video on rail shooters?
+Idunnoyouguessit thats a good idea
That's actually a pretty cool idea. There's some decent games to choose from, and even games like Terminator 2: Judgment Day on the genesis, though I'm not sure what type of shooter that would be called.
I would say, if you were to follow up on this idea, to keep House of the Dead to its own history. Plenty of games and spin-offs.
I used to love these games growing up because my dad loved them too. Gamer Garm thanks bruvaaaaaa :) check out my sandy white video to find out what I think is the first ever survival horror game. And thanks for commenting
I am doing exactly that right now.
:D
Props for appreciating Heart of Darkness. I love this sub genre and that's one of my all time favorite games.
Was Blackthorne consider a similar genre?
Abe, Prince of Persia, Heart of Darkness, Blackthorne and Flashback are the games I think of which define this genre.
James Cheng absolutely
Absolutely stellar intro- gave me a good laugh. I was never quite of of those gamers - but never really gave platformers a chance, since the sega/sonic games of my youth- I will definitely have to go back and give the genre a try!
Your videos first of all has so many nice animations and it feels like one of "The Game Theorist"-Video!
+Video Game Close Up Ahhhh cheers, look up to those guys so glad to be mentioned in the same breath as them :D
Is there a chance you could do the 'Oddworld Vs Microsoft Scandal: The Full Story (OddPortal)' one of these days? I definitely know some sort of schism between the two tribes happened (also with publishers GT Interactive, and Just Add Water)

What's the game at 14:05?
Also, in regards to platformers, have you played super meat boy?
The Heart of Darkness game is such an underrated masterpiece. I LOVED it as a kid. The cutscenes were so awesome (and my PC could barely play them, they stuttered and froze a lot). Also it's the first game ever that had a life orchestra soundtrack, though because its release was delayed it's not technically the first one to do it.
what about the "flashback" remake? is it good? (i think it has the original on it)
Also what is that game at 14:06 with all the soldiers running to the right from something and some getting crushed? I've never even seen or heard of that before.
+Chris Anderson without looking im gonna guess its war of the worlds on xbox live. Never played it but always wanted too
OMG! Thank you! I love these games but never had a name for the type of gameplay!
Unforgiving but rewarding to overcome.
heart of darkness is amazing

+Vicious Servant i see u are a big heart of darkness fan. maaaaaaaan that game is soo good, might go play it now actually
Hahaha. You don't know the half of it.
Yessss. Always is a good time to play Heart of Darkness.
What's the song at 3:26? It sounds like it's from Suspiria
Any new cinematic platform era coming out soon or recent games you recommend to check out or look out for?
Is that "Suspiria" by Goblin? (at 3:25)
What a great introduction to the genre. I watched this after playing Little Nightmares II and remembered Oddworld and PoP.
One of my favorite genres of video games.
Defo mate!
The intro to this vid is... is the most accurate and beautiful piece of social commentary concerning the 'boy racer gamer' I've ever seen. Although, I'm sad that you skimmed over the Oddworld games...
I really wished more people would talk about my favorite game Jordan Mechner, The Last Express.
what game is that tune off at the end off this video
3:10" ...But as I got older and better at these (Platformer) games, I wanted something a bit more challenging and a bit more realistic, thankful cinematic platformers did just that!" I went through the same faze, except I moved on to "VERSES FIGHTING" games and RPG games!! They're full of deep game mechanics and learning curves!!:)
Please do an oddworld history episode.
whats that song at 8:07
Please do a history on the old helicopter games, jungle/urban strike series. For Genesis and ps1
+P Ferreira Yeah i hardly play games like those either, Sonic 2 blew me away when i first saw it :D
Daniel Ibbertson Games like Sonic 2 and Ristar show that 16bit games were capable of being cinematic.
It isn't really that cinematic but it is a good game
You seem to be using a lot of music of the McDonalds Global Gladiators game in the endings of your video. Don't know if you covered this games, didn't find anything yet in your videos.
Check out the McDonalds video :D
Daniel Ibbertson
Yeah, just found them and watching them :).
+DevilMayCry1005 hope u enjoyed
The other video's I do. The McDo not so much, but not because of you, more about the videogames of McDo themselves. It was just less about Global Gladiators than I thought. But I feel the same way as you on that game.
Great vid! I think you missed Blackthorne, as that was a very popular cinematic platformer.
+Jeremy Bujnowski I don't know this. Gonna run and check it now :) thanks for commenting mate
My pleasure, keep up with the great vids!
And how about Nosferatu and SOS?
Wow another great video! Where do I start?!
The intro was hilarious!!! The clapping for each Wii U mention?!?! It was also all very informative and well produced!
With Flashback, is there much of a difference between the SNES and MegaDrive version? It's been on my list for a while, but some games have a slight edge on a different console. Prices are fairly good on both at the moment.
+ Have you ever heard of or seen the PS1 game called "Skullmonkeys"? Another game that is coming out that i have a seriously close eye on is Rain World a Kickstarter game that looks WOOOOOOOOOOW
Daniel Ibbertson I only thought "Another World" was on those formats? Not Flashback?!?!? :o
MyGamerXP Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sorry lol if you can get teh pc version go for that :D
Name of the song at 4:23 please
i dont remeber the exact name but its from the wario levels in the smash games
alright thanks
+TheKyojinMaster I was trying to figure out what music plays at 10:48 and I think it's Lemmings?
The intro to this vid is fucking brilliant.
give a try from blizzard old classic BLACKTHORNE !!!!!!!!!!First released: 1994
Platforms: SNES, PC, Sega 32X, Mac, GBA
Genre: Platformer
Players: 1
ps lost vikings
+giorgos “VAH” Vah i defo will. Thanks for the suggestion mate
One of my all time favorite games!
what are your other top ten favourite games?
believe it or not all of heart of darkness started with the theater screen scene in gremlins the movie
I lost my shit when I realized where I heard that background track before.... it's from Suspiria! You old dog, that movies such a classic!
Mention of the Oddworld series, but nothing else, then again it's for the best: considering what Lorne Lanning said about Satoru Iwata
At 3:06 Hell yeah we got some Pandemonium up in here I love that game on the Saturn!
+Alan YaKnow 100% defo gonna do a pandemoniom complete history vid 1 day
That'd be awesome! I anxiously await that day :)
I loved Karateka, I used to play it when I was barely 6 years old, thats just 3 years after it released. IT was great, challenging, taught about spacial reasoning and strategy and was fun. Oh memories, not sure about you but I am considering The Lost Vikings (Interplay) one of the greats that should have been mentioned here. Not a cinematic platformer but a great platformer nonetheless.
There are a lot more cinematic platformers out there.
www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=989633
Check this out if you are interested in the history of the genre and want to find new games.
Of course there are many MANY more. However this is more of a favourite list
rotoscoped games have just got that movement style down, they still look great as well.
Not really cinematic platformers but you should try the Neverhood and Skullmonkeys on PS1. Truly as unique as these games. Thanks for your vid.
+steve nicholl i kniw those games they are great
Im suppriesed you only gave oddworld just a small mention! this game was amazing!
+Explosive Bear dont worry the plan is to fully cover oddworld 1 day. Hence why i didnt wanna waste it here
+Explosive Bear i didnt wanna spoil the huge oddworld video that is on the horizon :D
gotcha!
I usually play psone games on my psvita, while laying in bed. Haven't touched my ps4 in months. It's a shame, the psvita is a psone, psp and psvita all in one, and the oled screen on my 1000 model? Brilliant.
You missed the masterpiece Lester the unlikely. :v
+Edgar González yeah... Masterpiece
Ha! Remember when The Completionist and Caddicarus shat on Heart Of Darkness...they were sooooo wrong on this one!
I love it, I think caddicarus compares it to Oddworld and really they are quite different. Love em both either way :D
The original Prince of Persia is just such a great game, one of my favorite of all time!
Mine too, hard as balls when you start playing tho

Yeah it also suffers from slow downs from time to time, but the game looks beautiful and the controlls are ok too.
It's just sometimes difficult finding good master system games that are actually affordable and Prince of Persia goes for around 20-25 euro in good condition with packaging and manual so I thought this is a good starter for my collection :D
It's a defo good place to start, Also Choplifter has its best version on the MS in my opinion
That intro is well 2003 innit bruv!
What's with the "WII U" + * applause * thing??)))))
Am I missing something here?)
Also, I think Lester's full name is Lester Knight Chaykin, 'Knight' being the middle name, and Conrad is actually Conrad B. Hart! He was even refered to as Conrad Hart in the remake.. Which is so weird, it's more cinematic in terms of productions, but the thing that made that genre so special - the fluid movement - is gone! But I still liked it, actually)
+brtd 2005 Its just a silly thing I was doing to show off my love for the under-appreciated Wii U lol
Thanks for clearing up the names mate, I always find this sorta thing a bit of a headache lol
Yeah I love Cinematic Platformers of old too (obviously lol) Have you tried Unravel? Its a good game
i played the first prince of Persia, it was awesome and that was after i played two thrones. and whats wrong with black flag? that game is great
I adore Heart of Darkness, I played it on win95 though. When I did play the PSX version later it wasn't as enjoyable for me :'(
Jesus Christ I just realized this at 2:07, 2 out of the 5 girls are drinking while pregnant, while another one of them is smoking. Cant wait to see what those kiddos are gonna look like
Very good.
+Ivan Garcerant Thanks mate :D
In all fairness, weed and video games go hand in hand, like PB&J
fade to black was a sequel. huh. makes more sense now.
+apex2000 great game too
ugh facts mane, disney owns pirates!!!!
Puppy love!!
Mycaruba!
do the dig!
Omg I need that FIFA game!!
Gashead Steve available at all "good" GAME stores :D
Seller: Chavboy.
LMAO...Where is Devvo when you need him?
Do you really think that he would buy it from a retailer? Or off the back of a truck, or indeed be the "truck driver" himself.
+IronBat 5 finger discount ftw
I really need to play out of this world and flashback. And oh my god someone finally talking about heart of darkness I love that game probably one of my favorites but fuck that ending the ending pissed me off so much it almost made me not like the game, such a challenge only for a shit ending, but other than that ending a masterpiece of a game
I need that FIFA game!!
+Gashead Steve hahaha £1 next year at C.E.X
ABE!!!!
wow your chav drives a Nova
I have never played the game myself but i have this weird feeling that the Heart of Darkness is an analogy for alcoholism, the kid goes anywhere for Whiskey.
Zero Blackthorne and a passing one second mention of the fantastic Oddworld series. What a shit video.
More accurate title: "Fellating Jordan Belchner with a side of Hearts of Darkness".
Broderbund
Heart of Darkness sucks a big one. It's the perfect game for watching a longplay of it but never playing it yourself. There's a reason why Prince of Persia and Oddworld are highly regarded and HoD was quickly forgotten. Absolutely dreadful combat and lacking in puzzles, it starts out ok but takes a nosedive one third into the game and never recovers.
I hated Heart of Darkness. Don't murder me please
+Sonic5558 hahahaha its cool your not alone plenty of peeps are not fans
