The Adepta Sororitas (also known as "the Sisterhood" or "Daughters of the Emperor") are an all-female subdivision of the religious organisation known as the Ecclesiarchy or Ministorum. The Sisterhood's Orders Militant serve as the Ecclesiarchy's fighting arm, mercilessly rooting out corruption and heresy within humanity and every organisation of the Adeptus Terra. The terms "Adepta Sororitas" and "Sisters of Battle" are commonly assumed to mean the same thing, but the latter title technically refers only to the Orders Militant - the military arm of the organisation which is the largest and the best-known part of the Sororitas.
“I prefer more down-to-earth vehicles.”
-Shy, a goddamn Ork player
To be fair, Ork vehicle is kinda down to earth; When people say Tank, they're referring to a heavy armored instrument of death, and that's what Ork vehicles are. Just significantly cruder, extremely armored and armed.
First I thought of the Scrapjet, but that's literally a crashed plane turned into a car. Can't be more "down-to-earth" than that.
Which it’s funny when you look at their flyers compared to everybody else’s… they do seem capable of actual flight compared to, oh I don’t know, those huge blocks of plasteel that call themselves the Imperium’s aerial support.
@@minibotas9496 IIRC someone put various flying unit models into a freaking wind tunnel and tested them out. As you insinuate Imperial aircraft is usually awful (the Valkyrie had negative lift, like some Formula 1 racecar). Ork aircraft indeed performed relatively well. A very memorable thing is Heldrakes, it seems the goddamn Chaos dragon is one of the most aerodynamic models in 40K.
@@gokbay3057
Probably because Ork aircraft were actually based on WW1 aircraft (probably because of them being a bit junky) and thus, they have actually good designs.
Shy- the orc player- critisizing a tank for not looking realistic. Meanwhile her tank's somehow running without an engine because reasons.
Gestalt it is 💚
it has a big turret and treads. why wouldnt it work?
There's no arguing with her. She's the type of girl who thinks she's right no matter what
@@Kfo221

She is right, duh
Yeah, sisters can't have unrealistic vehicles, dats da job o' DA OOOOOORKS!
"the stained glass is a huge pane" what a good accidental pun
It might have been a bit TRANSPARENT. 🤪
He enunciated it, so it was on purpose, he was just shattered that no one picked it up.
You broke it before I did. Though people saying it was intentional are framing it incorrectly. They're glazing over too much.
It’ll never amaze me how many times dk is told about the exorcist and every time he acts like it’s the first time he’s heard about it
That's sort of his thing though. No matter how many times it's mentioned he'll act surprised and excited.
In his defense, I forgot about it too. There's so much to the setting it's impossible to remember everything.
@angry_zergling It is a fun thing though because it really helps lighten up any mood.
That's because he only has soup between those ears, respectfully
It's like when people wish they could forget their favorite movie/series so they can watch it for the first time again. DK's brain is giving him that experience.
Poor Dominique. All he wanted was some sandpaper cigarettes.
Oh gods I can hear his voice somebody get him a sandpaper cigarette...
Sand paper cigarettes and Fyodor’s recognition.
*Q U I E T D O M I N I Q U E ! ! !*
How is he supposed to keep his voice sounding so sexy now?
Sadge.
Seeing Sister’s of Battle vehicles makes me truly believe their levels of faith crosses into ork waagh energy level shenanigans to make their equipment work 😂
the way I always figured it was that ork waaaagh energy is warp energy that just comes from a different region of the warp than the domains of the chaos gods specifically, and the same thing happens with Sisters and the legion of the damned.
But there stuff is made by the mechanicus who would have tested it to make sure it worked. The new tank and war suits were from belisarius no?
@@ethanvallance4989 have you ever seen them reload their organ cannons mid-battle?
@@burnin8ableCurrent lore is starting to say otherwise?
Cause the Belief from the Sisters of Battle still worked within the Pariah Nexus, a region of space completely cut off from the Warp.
The penitent engines etc. and arco flagellants cross directly over into khornate territory
If you commission a nundam greatshield, make it stained glass, like the Rhino gunner has.
great idea, cant go wrong with stained glass
That would look sick as hell
Make it HOLY stained glass, for the emperor
@@BenOtterson For the Emperor
Holy shit I gotta try that
The Ork lover complaining about how unrealistic Sisters vehicles are is hilarious to me
Sister Superior: "Assemble the choir. We are rolling out."
Background playing Transformer Gen 1 music
Ba weep granna weep ninny bong
"You got the touch!"
background Organ Tank playing Transformers Gen 1 Music**
Everybody's gangsta until the MLRS starts blasting church music with fake Latin
Okay now I really need a legally distinct Mobile Suit Nundum poster
The Repressor is STOP RESISTING in tank form.
Might be in a minority, but I love the syndonian skatros. I just love how the Admec went ‘We need someone to keep an eye out here but don’t want to build a proper watchtower. Wait a minute, Jimmy come here for a second, I have an idea.’ And removed his legs, put stilts on a him, and gave him a gun. It fits Admec perfectly in their ‘simplified solutions through human suffering’ approach to design.
It's not like Skitarii legs aren't already replacements, so yeah
@@len9505 Yep. They just made the legs on a regular Skitarii longer. It's entirely on-brand for AdMech.
EXTEND LEG
I just hate the pose on the mini and the fact that it's the only thing Admech got.
To each their own, but I hate that model. It’s both too derpy for what it is AND not stupid enough for the faction with chicken walkers toting double-barrel guns driven around without end by a literal DUDE permanently welded in.
I think the point DK was trying to make about the Stilts vs Sterilizers is that the sterilizers have a design theme going for them; they're robot flying bird boys. The silts skitari just looks like a normal skitari they put stilts on. While both are goofy, one has a reason to be goofy the other does not.
Functional goof vs goof for goof's sake.
As the psycher in darktide once said
"The sisters are... not known for their discression. I fear that calling for their aide would leave less of Atoma in tact"
I mean who will hate exorcist? Pipe organ missile launcher tank is the coolest shit from all ladies section. Man, I love that shit
If kiraoth is involved as it's vehicles but it's one of brickys factions wonder how many times bricky tries to over throw him 😂I have put 4 on my bingo card
I like how bricky normally derails conversations to talk about sisters, but here he derails the sisters episode to talk about guard haha
Less than 20 minutes into an unusually long episode, and there's already a flavor vs. function debate. This is gonna' be good.
Sisters "Nundum" suit legs maybe has high heels-like support in the armor.
Allows more height+mine protection!
They also really help with step- I mean crushing your enemies!
1:23:17 RIP Dominique.😢
He died tripping on Daemon innards. But even in death, he still served the Emperor.
I can only imagine that Powerwolf got their inspiration for music videos is the sisters of battle.
Now I kind of want to grab some of those plastic Werewolves models from Wargames Atlantic, and kitbash them into Repentia/Arco-Flagellant models.
When I ever painted salamanders I always blasted powerwolfs fire and forgive in the background blood drinkers we drink your blood whiles if Im feeling heretical Emperor's children's midnight Madonna or Demons are girls best friend.
I meen,
seriously think about it for a half minute:
You are a standard template Rhino and get pushed into the Sisters Ranks,
get stripped down, armored up
get slapped with 10x the normal weight,
have the gravitational force of 16 rockets pushing down on your suspension
AND HAVE THAT EMPRORER AWEFULL MUSIC CONTINUESLY PLAYING?
Would you as a machine spirit be a bit temperamental too ? :3
Just saying.
Thanks for the episode guys
That paint job at an hour and 8 minutes in makes me wonder, "Is that a Saint's Row reference?"
Soviet rocket artillery platforms in WW2 were nicknamed "Stalin's organ" by the Germans because they looked like church organs. The design has a precedent in reality, even if it looks goofy.
Khorne loves the penitent engine and the mortifier. In the fall of Cadia these horrible engines actually made a khorne champion ascend with how awful they are
I'm sorry... What???!!!
@@srdjansavuljeskovic4079 Urkanthos. Killed a shitton of Sisters including multiple Penitent Engines and Flagellants as well as his own Khornate Berzerkers in a bid to get Khorne to recognize him. And Khorne definitely did. He then goes on to give Celestine a helluva fight.
If i look at the Paragon Warsuit i thinking allways "That is a Terminator Armour for normal Humans!" and i am pretty ok with that.
Or, like the Centurion, a 40k version of the Hulkbuster.
its mentioned in lore a couple time but powerful enough Inquisitor lords can get custom made Terminator Armour for normal Humans, Inquisitor Sabathiel wears one in a comic, I think its been ordo Malleus Inquisitors thats worn Terminator Armour
@@gawkthimm6030 I know that that there are Inquisitors that wear Power Armors... but Terminator Armors? Are you sure? That would be sick! Nice.
@@germanmandalorian3514 yeah, if you image search for "Inquisitor Sabathiel Terminator armor comic" I think you can find images of her in it
The most unexpected part of the Repressor's story is that any vehicle in 40k would have non-lethal weapons to begin with.
Shy, “I’m going to make you all rage.”
5 minutes later Shy is the one raging.
1:21:56 its a preachers puplpit! she gives battle sermons! she brings the sermon to you! i love it
I absolutely adore Paragon Warsuits, they are some of my favorite models in the entire GW model range. The shape and proportions are fucking perfect, it's the queen bitch of mechanized suits.
I think the floating pulpit is great. It reminds me of all the 80s cartoon villain escape pods. It looks like the Sisters just arrived on the planet in their drop cathedral but the Canoness Superior was in the middle of a sermon and decided to take her pulpit with her so she can finish her speech.
I was gonna say! It does give major Bowser Clown Car vibes, and if anyone wants to do that paint job...
RIP Detective Rediculous.
I hope Unidentified Signal 99.9FM continues on at some point.
Listening to DK talk about mysteries makes me happy 🙂
Bricky: "Redemption Edging."
Kirioth: "I'm sorry?"
One of my favourite detail of the Exorcist is that the sister playing the organ is playing the first chord of the theme song of the movie The Exorcist
*impossibly loud church organ music*
So loud, it's almost like an artillery barrage!
cue Keygen Church
Tau when the sky starts playing All Black gospel music and churches immediately lands on there positions:
Dozer blades on a tank isn't about making it a reasonably sized tank, it's about sending a message.
It used to cost extra to get those dozer blades attached.
"the stained glass windows were such a pain" me chuckling heh window pane pun
Counter to Shys realism comment.
SHE PLAYS ORKS!
1:17:50 Of course you can't get behind it, DK, it has 4 heavy flamers on the front! Nobody could get behind it past them!
Cant wait for the nundams
1:32:50 Back when this was released, AP was treated as "ignore the armor save of any armor with this value or higher."
This would mean a bolter, which was an AP 5 weapon would ignore any armor saves of a 5+ or 6+. At AP2, there is no armor save. It's invulnerable saves or nothing.
Vehicles couldn't normally be damaged with strength 3 attacks, which is why this ignores vehicles.
yall should cover the zealous death cults of the imperium! also the necromunda factions would be pretty cool
So, what I think you're looking for in regards to the Paragon Warsuit is Internal Consistency. As well as Direct consistency. The internal consistency in which something is too different from other things of it's like For example the Nundam compared to the Dread. The direct consistency issue is the difference between the upper and lower part.
So, the reason your brain doesn't "Get It" is because your brain is trying to make connections to things it already knows and things that aren't like it, as well as seeing something contradicting itself.
When Bricky said do you like anything Shy . I was fully expecting the ork memes to just start flying on the screen .
repentor dreadnoughts AKA "somebody's obscure fetish dreadnought"
I like to imagine that since there's no possible way for the torture victim on a penitent engine to consciously control the thing, it's another one of the imperium's "totally not autonomous we swear guys" type combat drones that happen to have a guy strapped to the front.
@burnin8able, a reverse Eighty-Six, that's great!
@@burnin8able You're thinking hands-on-levers. That's not how those operate.
You realize Dreadnoughts are controlled by plugged-in barely-alive raging veteran marine mutilated and pickled torsos, right?
You still gotta a working brain? You can drive a Imperial Dread/Penitent engine/Knight/Titan. Those are plugged right onto your brainstem.
It is penitence because it IS nightmarishly painful and claustrophobic. E.g. Dreads are only awake to counter dire threats for a reason.
Shy - the Ork player - complaining about the functionality and excessive nature of the Sisters flamethrower cathedral on treads
She is just jealous that the Sister's power of belief is cooler than the Orks version.
*Battleska intensifies*
Edit: Also, I feel like Kirioth's kitbash mess vs GW Death Guard mess conundrum is probably that he's just a Vashtor worshiper in a gearhead disguise.
I love DK’s nose licking art. 😂
I almost never comment on videos since I like to listen to the podcast via Spotify at work but I am a big fan of this episode, it's really cool to see dk come into some maturity within the hobby and I love to hear all your opinions on models on the tabletop. The vibe was very casual chat with friends and less structured let's make a show and I loved that. I really hope there are more like this to follow
The organ tank playing tubular bells as it rolls into battle killed me!
Every time I think about the Immolator, I have the Dawn of War voice yelling "Behold the Immolator!" in my head.
Injected 'feelings' might not be so strange. If they've isolated the neurochemicals that drive emotions of shame and guilt, then flooding penitent engine 'pilots' with them could do just that.
The best art I've seen about the nundam is that they get the Star Fox treatment and they have their knees cut off at the knees. Kinda like a dreadnought, wounded warriors put into a machine.
Shy's live commentary this episode was fantastic
I like how shy said Bricky will mald and then she proceeds to mald herself 😂
1:24:20 GIVE US A DK REACTS SERIES FOR EMPEROR TTS ALREADY!
I mean, when you see some ennemies the Sisters have to fight, I don't think those who run away really thought the after part, they just saw a Blood thirster and crap their pants XD
"Painting the stained glass is a huge pane"
Regarding the Nundam, maybe the legs are hidden from front view. You know, to stop Doge van Dyre.
To be fair, sometimes and Anchorite is more like a Sisters Dreadnought, stripped of the pain-and-guilt stuff and fitted with life support systems instead to keep and experienced but injured battle sister alive and fighting.
You'd think they'd give her a Warsuit instead but I guess not. I'm planning to build one that at least had hands.
Stilt boy is cool imho, one of the few GW 40k models I own across multiple full armies
There is a Sons of Guns episode where they help make a FLAME THROWER CANNON, that is the closest you will get to seeing what new of these vehicle mounted flamers would look like!!!!!!
The exorcist looks like it’s got salt and pepper. Shakers mounted to the top.
Personally I think the Paragon Warsuits are incredibly cool. I view them as a force multiplier more than a defensive suit of armor. They aren't in there for safety, just so they can carry a huge sword and multi melta. I rationalize their legs fitting inside as them being in a kneeling position, like they are kneeling for prayer
preferring the forge world immolater because it looks like it would actually function in the real world is rich coming from an Orks fan.
The most internally divisive episode to date
“I lugged this flame thrower into battle, by the emperor I’m going to use it”
52:11 Guys you don't understand, those aren't mech legs, those are the sister's legs, she has been blessed by the emperor! The arms are just a backpack she wears to assist in carrying heavy weaponry
They did a pun. the glass was a pane. Like a pane of glass 😂
Paragon Suits needed more cloth and cloak to cover the parts where the legs and arms join. Thats why Morvenn works so much better.
I think a large part of what makes or breaks a mini is how far you can push your suspension of disbelief
When a sister drives a church into battle, it makes sense. That's just how they are, but when you stick one in a nundam, people are going to ask how does she bend her legs? Is her faith in the emperor what's keeping her pelvis from breaking in half?
One of the guys at work thinks the old terminator necrons were peak necrons, he’s crazy
The amount of times DK says the person sticking out the cupola of the vehicle is the "pilot" haha
When theyre talking about Morvenn Vahl, Bricky mentions something about our brains rejecting certain images and not others. Its not an emotion, its memory recollection.
Humans develop "schemas"; concepts or mental models of ideas, like how we learn to differentiate animals, vehicles etc from childhood.
Taking what we already have learnt of what a exo-skeleton looks like, its easy to dismiss when it doesnt "seem to work" because weve seen or theorised what it looks like when it does work.
So, in the process of discussing what's wrong about it, is exactly what the mental phenomenon is.
So, good job.
Thanks for the video.
I want the Repressor to come back in plastic with a similar makeover to what the Immolator got. Imagine a rhino chassis with a steeple covered in firing decks.
Charles Whitman-ass tank
The old intro now has a nostalgic feeling to it and I still miss it haha
Penitent Engines: No matter how fast you run, you cannot run away from the pain.
To fix the Nundam, give the Nun knees where they should be and, from feet down, have a reverse articulated leg
Hell yeah this dropped the same day my army of faith bix arrived and I'm definitely listening while i start building my Exorcist
Hey Fyodor, look! We're on an AdRic episode!
The pulpit thing makes me think of Bowser's floating cup thing.
When people ask me what 40k is all about, I show them the Exorcist
Damn now I’ve got Legs stuck in my head because of the war suits
“My legs where too long”
Do the Thunder warriors next
Can't believe DK missed the opportunity to make a joke about the Repressor, -2
I recently learned about Temple Chariots and it felt very Sisters of Battle to me. Sort of like a mobile church
The Paragon suits always reminded me of Apleseed
The so-called "Nundams" are more akin to the Landmates from Appleseed than actual mecha like a monile suit.
One of your best guys, keep it up
The inspiration for the Exorcist might have come from Walt Disney, of all sources. Music Land sees the protagonists fighting with among other things weaponised pipe organs.
Morven's suit; who exactly made it, what is the process by which she dons it, how did she earn her Custodes spear, and what is the shield-gun exactly? I was so excited when I saw this on my feed, but you guys just kind of talked AROUND it, not about it, you know? Anywho, I really do love the channel, and am looking forward to what comes next!
the penitent engine made me glad there was no sister turning to slanesh...
Screwing with emotions is surprisingly easy.
As in: "we can inject feelings of guilt" is the kind of thing I'd expect to be kinda-sorta possible within *40* years, much less 40k.
Pumping someone with liquid depression to make them even more eager to commit suicide by xenos is the kind of nasty I associate with the Imperium in 40K
56:00 DK with the lacking visual comprehension. Did he deadass not recognize that it was an artistic interpretation?
I like the Castigator solely because it (and CSM) is how the Predator will live on, as all the firstborn loyalist marine vehicles get phased out by primaris hover-tanks.
I didn't know about the Repressor Rhino. Neat, now I have vehicles for my Judge Dredd IG
Fyodor? I'm sorry I only know of "The Chairbound Prankster", not this Karamazov you speak of.
When they talk about the game I just see the the pick of DK with his tounge on his nose flipping back and forth between the two!
