I don't have enough words to thank the entire BOA team for turning my dream into reality. These were the two best days of my life. I'm a huge In Flames fan and they were one of those bands I stepped into heavy metal with. A week before the show, I painted "In Flames We Trust" on a huge mount board out of pure excitement and when the band acknowledged it, there was no better feeling than that. There was this moment when Björn (In Flames' lead guitarist) and I had an eye contact, and he smiled at me as I screamed the lyrics of The Mirror's Truth at him - that memory will stay with me forever.
I also wanted to say hi to Karl, but unfortunately, I felt too nervous to approach him. I first discovered this channel back in 2018, even spotted him once in my hometown of Jammu! I've been a regular follower ever since. Thanks for once again covering this event, Karl. Looking forward to seeing you next year as well.
Man, you should have! You would have been featured here as well! I hope to make it next year.
Glad I got you in the vlog bro! Jammu rocks, I'm gonna start editing an entire series from the Jammu region next. Meet you at the festival next year.
So it was you they were talking about ? Hats off to you Man.
@@bruiserweight550 Thank you so much.🤘 Could you please tell me whom you're referring to as 'they'?
@@abhisheksawanthxc In Flame talked about it
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Karl. The journey of organizing a Metal Festival in India is a rollercoaster of emotions, especially when it comes to securing sponsorship. Convincing brands to support this event feels like an uphill battle, as it's tough to make them see the magic of this incredible audience. The struggle doesn't end with just raising sponsorship; keeping it alive over time is a relentless fight.
The heart of metal music beats strong, yet it's still considered a niche genre in India. Gaining acceptance from the broader public is like trying to move mountains. The logistical challenges are daunting, with infrastructural limitations and bureaucratic hurdles testing our resolve at every turn. And then there's the Herculean task of attracting international metal bands to our shores, with high travel costs, visa issues, and their unfamiliarity with the Indian market adding layers of complexity.
But amidst all these challenges, our passion, perseverance, and strategic planning shine like beacons of hope. It's a tough journey, no doubt, but the reward of uniting the metal community and showcasing this genre in India is a dream worth fighting for. I am profoundly grateful to have such an incredible team backing us in this festival.
Thank you again for your unwavering support. Together, we stand strong: #InMetalWeTrust.
What you and Saurabh do looks like pure torture. Thanks for going through it every year to put on the show for us!
Having your girl loving metal with you is the blessing.
What the hell?? I made to a @KarlRock video too?? Man, Bangalore Open Air just keeps on giving. Metal music has a unique way of bringing people together, and Bangalore Open Air 2024 was not just a festival; it was a journey of making cherished memories, meeting musical idols, and connecting with like-minded souls. Here's to the power of heavy metal and the friendships it forges in the most unexpected places! 🤘Thank you so much for documenting this epic experience and it was great meeting you in person too! Your coverage of last years BOA compelled me to attend this year and it was the best decision ever!
Thank you and this video is going viral too...🎉
Watain is my favorite black metal band.... this is amazing, didn't have a clue India has such an strong metal community. Thank you Karl for showing this 🤘 Support from Croatia 🤘
This edition of Bangalore Open Air has proved that metal is still alive and pretty much kickin' in India. Heartening to see a more diverse crowd this time around. More power to you Team BOA \m/ Only onwards and upwards from here!
Neatly documented Karl, thanks!
As an Indian metalhead, this pleases me a lot
Its nice to see that indian people are open to death and black metal. It would be a blast to play there as an opener or support act
Indian metalhead community exists since long
They're not as good as they used to be.
Maybe a couple of them in the crowd😂
Love to see this happening in India! These are incredibly talented musicians and it's great to see a festival like this happening there. Hope it was amazing and the fans loved every second. Great vid as always. Thanks for showing us all different parts of India we normally don't get to see ❤
Ayyy, made it on the video, feels quite surreal. Working backstage this year at the festival was an insane experience, definitely a peak moment in my life. Got to meet a lot of my teenage heroes up close, bumped into you a few times at the fest, got a fookin pick from Chris Broderick and got to learn quite a lot in the process.
Cheers to Salman, Manaswi and the other members of the core team who made it possible. They're the last bastion of the Indian Metal Scene. See you next year around Karl! Was lovely meeting you. Long time fan of the channel.
Thanks! See you next year 🤘
Thanks Karl for covering this. I see you documenting on venue each year and letting people know about unexpected Indian metal scene. Appreciate your work. 😊
We need people like you to spread awareness of metal music in India. Thank you for your effort Karl❤ I was out there watching you walking across with the camera 😅
Carl Rock and roll!!! 🆒😎🤘🤘🤘! Might be your best video ever!!!
Awesome to see metal music in India. \m/ Thank you for this, Karl!
Bangalore open air is absolutely incredible!! And the price makes it a steal for everything included in the package 🔥🔥
Sick coverage of an awesome fest. Thanks for the behind the scenes. This has been on my top fests to one day get to for awhile and now I want to go even more.
Thanks for this video. Happy to be part of this and attending this festival for the first time.
I love when you cover this event! Thanks for sharing again!
When I was traveling in India I saw a cool metal show in Delhi. They were great. I wish I knew their name to shout them out.
Yes it was outrage festival, i was there too 😄

Brilliant upload , many thanks 🙏. I was there too, and it was a real privilege to see Watain
The festival has great energy, awesome metal heads, you can tell how much love they have for the bands :D
Thanks Karl for introducing, didn't knew of it earlier
Great video dude! I came down all the way from Dubai with my friends just for this festival. Thanks a lot for documenting the festival so well. It was also nice to see you for the first time in person (we said hi but couldn't get a picture together) ! Cheers mate! Until next year!
I"m not into Metal, but India influenced Metal
Indian influence on Western music
Raga rock led to the development of psychedelic rock, which in turn laid the foundations for heavy metal music.
To be honest, I'm not a regular viewer of your videos, but I've stumbled across a few of your videos here and there and have always found them quite interesting and I've always found you to be a very pleasant character.
But I had no idea you were a fellow metalhead. Makes you even more likeable to me! To be honest, it doesn't surprise me, because in my experience metal fans are often the nicest, most socially acceptable and most open minded people ever.
Thanks for the great video, I actually didn't know about this festival, it's great that you want to make it known.
Love and greetings from Germany!
Hey, you can find his comments on many slipknot videos on youtube and even other more obscure bands! I've seen him on mostly nu-metal and metalcore videos. I think I last saw him on Bring Me The Horizon's Kool Aid music video. I used to like Karl Rock, now I just LOVE him.
Danke!
Im so happy and proud being Karl's audience for years and getting to know he's a fellow metalhead and bringing all the attention to it.
Slayer's final show in the Philippines when they performed at PULP Summer Slam XIX: The Second Coming will always be my all-time favorite metal show. Great to know that you're a fellow metalhead, Karl, and it's even greater to know that metal is thriving in India as well. 🤟💀
Just added this to my India travel list. 🤘🤘🤘
I follow your videos very often for years but I particularly love your vidoes at this festival! Keep it up Karl :))
Great video and great rock bands!
Thanks Karl
A great video. I would not mind seeing some other music festivals in India.
I've been to India for the cricket which is a great value proposition by comparison to UK or Australia. I'm sure there are many other examples as you have shown with this video
Thanks Karl and Salman , Glad we would all be part of Indian Metal History ..! Keep Rocking all Metal Heads
Are your ears still ringing :) Very interesting video.. Great to see back stage and fair play to that lady travelling that far on your recommendation .. hope she had a blast.
Awesome video Karl, love this type of content.
Thanks for sharing this, it was pretty cool!
I wish I was there. I've attended from 2013 to 2019, but lately, because of severe body pain, I haven't been able to attend the past two editions, including this one. I hope to be there next year.
You should. It is long time pending now.
bro I think I remember your name from a couple of metal Facebook groups lmao
Thanks Karl for covering it! Metal for life❤
Karl you rock and so does this festival…
Metal was a popular subculture in the 90s all across India, but gradually died after the rise of rap / hip-hop. It's good to see that it's not completely dead, and is making a comeback. Wish this festival comes to Delhi soon.
Last year Bloodywood performed in Amsterdam. Unfortunately I couldn't be there, but thanks to your videos I discovered a lot of new Indian bands.
alright. now i’m convinced to visit india for the metal festival!!
I live in Poland and being from India it’s a dream come true for me to bath in the filth of BLACK METAL \m/ Polish metal bands are insane.. ”na zdrówie”
*Behemoth* being 1 of my Favorites.
Mgła is on top of my list for Polish Black Metal ;)
@@bishalsarkar5055 I still need to check 'em out, hope they hit as Hard as *Behemoth* does 🤘🏻
Sure thing. Let me know if you like their music
Get put from Poland
Very cool. Watched last years video, too. Hope you'll do one every year.
Amazing video, loved it, though I didn't attend BOA, but was at the Delhi one. Still, thank you for this beautiful video.
Great going bro.. Epic one tis vedio is.. ❤❤❤
Thank you Karl for sharing this! I used to go for most of the gigs in India till I move out in 2017. Glad to see my old friends, Abbass from Godless and the guys from Zygnema still killing it with their music! Not to forget, Salman for keeping the Indian metal scene alive!
Thanks Karl for covering BOA for the second time in a row . It was great seeing & meeting you in person at the event . Please come again for BOA’25
Thank U @Karl for covering the entire festival so beautifully!!!♥️ was great meeting U!!!🤘🤘🤘
Bangalore!!! Can't wait to be there forever
Thanks Karl for promoting this festival.
Love to see that Metal is alive and thriving in India!
As a metal fan who’s gotten to see Avenged Sevenfold more times than I’d ever be able to count, I was SHOCKED how much of a fan base Avenged Sevenfold has in India lol. One day I was surrounded by a group of Indian teens who saw one of my A7X guest list sticky passes and was like “do you know them??! Have you met them?!”. I gave two of them some custom guitar pics the guitarist Zacky used and they freaked out! I mean FREAKED OUT! There’s always a large number of Indian fans at each concert, not just a bunch of white folks. Indian A7x fans have a massive online presence. You see so many “A7X fans of India” or “India Loves A7X” social media accounts. It’s really cool, and they’re a very dedicated group of fans!
This is now a thing I'll be needing to find myself at some day. Thanks.
The line-up of bands keeps getting better every year at boa.
Hopefully can visit next year \m/
I never knew this! That's so cool!!
Awesome video! I am Indian living in USA. Went to go see In Flames and was the only Indian there lol. Glad to see my Indian bro's enjoying metal!!!!
As an old head metal head... I find it amazing that India has this festival. Fuck yeah, I'm going
As an Indian metalhead it's truly an honor for us Karl . Thank you so much for doing this. Hell Yeah !! Hail Metal !! Hail Indian Bands 🙂😈🎵🤘🤘🤘
Karl,Visiting India first time next week. Thanks to you and Wifey for all the vids etc...priceless. However... An Old Monsters of Rock Castle Donington Boyo here and now You are Metal Royalty !! Thanks Man. Namaste all round.
Even though I couldn't attend it, it was quite insane to see my favorite band Kreator peforming in my country. Last time they came here was 2012 BOA. Wish they visit my city sometime! Karl, you should come to Assam too.
It's incredible that this is happening in India! cool!
THANK YOU KARL FOR BRINGING THIS TO US❤
Karl it was nice to meet you there hope to see you at next BOA cheers 🍻
Cheers 🍻
Sakkathu Chanagithu Maga! (translation from Kannada = I really enjoyed it!) So glad to have seen this video! The Metal scene is Alive and kicking and we hope to see more shows like this with bigger bands in India! Thanks for sharing your love for metal and showcasing what we have to offer to metalheads around the world! 🤘Jai Hind!
I don't know how much metal heads are there in Bangalore, but here in kolkata we have tons of metal heads but no dedicated show here. Bangalore is almost 2000km from here.
Growning up in Delhi in the 90s and '00s, we had GIR (Great Indian Rock) where a lot of South Indian based bands were regulars, including others. Watching your video makes me reminiscent of that bygone 'era' all Delhi metalheads know well . Going to see Knotfest in a few weeks here in Sydney, Australia. \m/ Great Video
Not my thing at all, but it's just fantastic to see a festival like this is India that is bringing people from all around the world together. And what a gorgeous setting. Thanks Karl for showing this viee of India too.
So cool to see this as an Indian Metalhead 🤘🤘
Me personally, I dont fly around the world to see the same bands. But I love to see people getting to experience a good metal festival all over the world.
Just watched your video out of curiosity and now I need to research metal festivals for a possible next mini vacation. India is only about 4 hours away, wish I knew about this festival sooner! Aloha from Qatar.
Super interesting report, cool!
Wow, I'm surprised. Why are there so few people? The bands which joined the Fest are the legends.
Free meet&greet is a cool idea)
Hell of a festival with watain, kreator and more. Super cheap too! I love all your vids but these ones at the fest are the best of the year, keep goin!
Best concert was 94 or 95, white zombie, pantera and deftones. It was magical.
Here huge fan of great metal bands like In Flames and Kreator...what an opportunity to enjoy them live playing in India!
One of my friends been to this show, I missed but thanks to Karl for covering all of it soooo explicitly ❤😊
Great line up wow
You are a true Indian ambassador to the world! Cheers.
It was the sickest 2 days spent in Bangalore Open air. We travelled all the way from Imphal just for this show and it was well worth the time and money we spent. We’re definitely coming for next year too .Hope they manage to bring in some more sick bands for next year as well. Thanks Karl for this amazing cover of the whole event. I had taken a memorable selfie with you as well on the second day I believe ✊
Horns held high 🤘 ... Thanks karl you are such a generous man.. never imagined I would be in this video ... Thanks for bringing in more people into the indian metal scene I met a person from the U.S. She saw your video and came here for the show... Glad to know this... Meet you next year in the freakin pit...
I will be there next year for sure if Watain will play, but I may show up anyway as I plan to visit India for my 8:th time!
