As a content creator, I feel kind of locked in because doing youtube is probably the best and most fullfilling hobby that I have ever picked up and now I am wondering, what I should do, if I can't bring myself to enjoy the game anymore. I'm gonna feel it out for a while, but like Reggi from Nintendo said "If it's not fun, why bother?".
I totally feel this. It's especially hard for me to quit this game because of the content creation: It adds an extra fun element for me to do that keeps the game even more interesting than if I was playing completely solo. I'm thinking of starting a new UA-cam channel for a business I want to start. You should start another channel for something else you find passion in! Whatever you do, though, I wish you the best
Sorry to hear. I think when you look at the facts- that Nexon wants you to be locked in forever and keep paying more and more, it's not worth it, but if you want to keep supporting them, that is your decision and I respect it.
Change game until maple gets fixed, Path of Exile is so hype with the new events that just happened and are just about to happen and also D4Bad is a great meme to bolster it's popularity, if you still want to play a Nexon published game Mabinogi is still very fun and very different from Maple

All of this news is just so sad. I finally came back to the game a few weeks ago after having played for 10 years starting in 2005. I have been having a lot of fun and have found so many new content creators to watch, you being my recent favorite (also was getting convinced to play Shadower since Phantom use to be my main and it ain't it). Now with the terrible changes everything feels so bad. I wish you the best of luck with your possible new side channel and business, will be here to support. Will just stick to ffxiv and real life lol.
I don't know man. I have already quit this game 2 years ago but I occasionally come and look at Maple news. People always complain about this game yet I still see people playing it. Why? Maple is so profitable they managed to book the country's concert. I see the same thing over and over again people shouting to quit but they never did. I don't expect people to quit over this as well. People will continue to play. I guarantee it.
I don't know. Players have a very different attitude this time around. I've never seen an outrage this large in the past 4 years that I've been playing. I uninstalled today and that is the first time I did that in the past 4 years, despite the many terrible changes that they've given us. This has to be the worst one yet.
Yknow, I quit back in 2017 when I noticed how little nexon cares, a system where you basically have to have a kanna just to progress your main, and then the two PC method happened. And I love seeing videos like this that justify my thoughts on the game. Maplestory is an amazing game with awful devs, it’s so odd to see

They wanted to make GMS more like KMS by removing totems and removing Jett, BUT pulls a stupid stunt like this. Especially as a Reboot player, this is LITERALLY P2W! I’ve spent THOUSANDS of dollars on this game (as evidenced by three months of MVP Red and several others as Diamond) and I’ve been looking for a solid reason to quit. This might actually do it if this is not changed.

really loved the message towards the end of the video talkin about how maple players are usually the "chronically online" type and how unhealthy and unrewarding that is over the long term to be stuck in the massive grind-loop that nexon have designed.. i really hope a lot of people will take this time to reflect n do as you were saying, explore other avenues and just look after yourself a bit more. good on ya man
I was planning on coming back for 6th Job but even IF Nexon reverts the changes to be more in line with KMS I think I'm still not coming back. This entire thing is a slap in the face and a reminder that Nexon will try anything they can to milk & time-gate players.
I was so close to calling this, I thought they'd release a cash shop item that resets the cap. The sad part is I was just being cynical at the time, but the mad men have gone and done it.

I decided to quit last year when they announced that they were removing totems. It was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. The daily/meso grind drove me crazy. I promise you all there are other mmos out there that respect your time and money.
I've been grinding for 6k legion for the past 2 weeks to reach it for the first time and burn an AB as my new main waiting with excitement for the 6th job and upcoming remaster. Guess I'll just play something else, all of my hype is gone at this point

@@Gloomski reboot is not populated because it is the most popular version of maple (as in v245) it is populated because they removed p2w. Reboot and global are essentially the same game content wise, so why is reboot more popular?
@@Xhalonick they never removed p2w in reboot, pets have been a requirement from the very beginning, and even moreso nowadays with this bs and vac pets. pservers have the ability to remove that altogether though most never do, again going back to what i was saying with a *good* up-to-date pserver
@HvNzGloomy legit the whole point of reboot was to remove p2w and fix all the damage hackers caused due to RWT for money or NX. But again, there is a reason there are no current version pservers outside of like eluna and Aries. their populations are in the low 100s compared to legends / royals which get over 1,000 easy. Fact is there just isn't the demand for such a server as a majority of maplers don't want to play on newer versions

Wongy really pushes his grand scheme to increase the revenue from non-KMS. Create problem, sell the solution and he really meant it. Their reason is to make a heathier game/life balance, but forgot that we're also working to earn money and some would gladly pay with their payment and now he forced us to spend extra time dailies to progress. Wongy thinks it may give us a choice to purchase that BS Booster and that booster also gives a Choice to select Sol Erda energy or the fragment and call it "Free of Choice", but the True "Free of Choice" is to let people decide to do dailies if they have time or to spend their free time on the weekends to farm and progress. This WINNING OR LOSING strategy IS THE SHORTEST WAY TO KILL THE OVERSEASE MAPLES, YAY, FOR THE GLORY OF KMS, YOU WIN.

this has to be the worst reception to a patch ive ever seen in a game. i don't think i can recall a single instance of everyone being against incoming changing where everyone talks or thinks about quitting rather than dealing with the changes. i have to imagine that wonki and nexon just think that we dont look at other servers to notice the extreme differences in caps and P2w garbage that exist for no reason.

If this is coming to GMS I’m quitting maple. I’ve spent the past 3 months making a new main with hyper burn to get my first 260 just to enjoy this. I left 3 toons around 250-255 because the mobbing sucked and I didn’t have fun grinding just bossing. I made a DW to enjoy mobbing and bossing, and I do. Patiently waiting for this update and this shit happens. This update literally tripled my playtime. I got my daughter to play with me. We were stoked for this. If this shit is real we are quitting. it depends on your bank, i would call them and ask them about their policies on chargebacks and stuff but generally speaking you should be able to. just say that the NX charges were not authorized and that the vendor refuses to refund or something and they should side with you. it's a bit of a hassle but if you spent a lot like me then it's probably worth it. goodbye GSE badge o7 i will be giving it about a week or so just to see if they decide to revert it but if not i'll sell all the IGNs i have and tank the permaban. i dont mind spending money on games i enjoy but this update is outright insulting to everyone who plays the game @@zoro3336

Yea I came back about 6 months ago because of 6th job prepairing for it going hard on farming and 22 star most of my items and now Im quiting I tried to give it another shot but they kept fucking us over time to let my beloved game die it was a good run.
I know :( I had fun for the past 4 years+ that I've been playing consistently, but oh well, going forward I just gotta focus on IRL if I'm not playing Maple.

Idk, this time it's different. I wouldn't recommend pushing to end game with the way the 6th Job system is being implemented in GMS. Getting to "end game" post new age will be time capped like never before. Caution yourself. I advise taking a break right now until they remove the cap.

Don’t get me wrong I really feel for the end game players but just remember some of us enjoy the game and I’m not gonna let one thing get me down . I miss totems on reboot I miss kana I liked my Jett but nothing ever got me down. This is something that hasn’t been taken from me it’s just a small to medium hindrance. I do feed for my one buddy and the people that pay a ton and it’s wrong they did this. I just feel it’s expected from nexon

Listen, I've been playing maple since the launch of GMS. But saying "I won't stop playing (x years vet) is almost the same as someone who smokes saying "Yeah but I've been smoking for 10 years! Can't stop now." Even though it's killing them slowly (I know maple doesn't straight kill you, but you still spend time (a finite ressource of your life) on a game that definitely isn't working out too good. I've been off the gane for a year and a half after almost 18-19 years. You can't keep your feet in the door of the addiction and still hope for the best. I didn't like the direction of the game long time ago so I became a filthy casual player but I always fully play the big patches, I'm ready to hit uninstall if the memo sucks which its probably going to. This is absurd, guys some of you already pay 15 bucks per month for a pet that should be in game for free; are you really going to pay $45 per month just to play the game? think about it.
Great thought process. This update is especially harmful for casual players because it will limit them by the days they put into the game, instead of allowing them to go hard when they actually have the time to play, like on the weekends. We'll see what the memo says...

For game i spend probably 100 hours a month on, 30$ + the average 10$ a month i spend on pet revives etc. i dont see this as game breaking. Also if its anything like nodestones, theyll be handing them out like candy during events
What will you do with that 100 hours now? All that farming time will be "wasted" since you're not going to be making adequate gains from 6th Job farming, sadly.
Hmm I'll elaborate. The cap is shitty but with the amount I play, 100 hours was probably even being pretty generous, I don't think I'd get anymore than the cap allows regardless. I just don't have much of a problem with the booster. The price is pretty steep for what you get, but the overall price of the game still remains objectively low
Yeah, but not everyone will. Lots of people are already stopping their spending and others even uninstalled. People will still play and pay, but the numbers will drop dramatically which is awesome.
Been a part of Maple since late 2007, the difference between that era and now is incredible! The way the artstyle evolved to what it is now is insane! It's honestly a shame to see such change come at the cost of milking its playerbase dry due to a greedy company. I personally gave up back in 2019 and have spent my time on [REDACTED], but it just doesn't have the same feel that official does. I'm hoping they revert this p2w doodoo feces change.

To address the point of botters: 1 remove the cap 2 make everything sol erda completely untradable with the exception of storage. 3 make everything sol erda tradable but put a daily cap on AU and trade transactions to make affect botters bottom line substantially. That’s all I came up with, sadly botters are a thing that will allways be here to stay but don’t pretend to not have options when you do.

@HvNzGloomy legit the whole point of reboot was to remove p2w and fix all the damage hackers caused due to RWT for money or NX. But again, there is a reason there are no current version pservers outside of like eluna and Aries. their populations are in the low 100s compared to legends / royals which get over 1,000 easy. Fact is there just isn't the demand for such a server as a majority of maplers don't want to play on newer versions

Wongy really pushes his grand scheme to increase the revenue from non-KMS. Create problem, sell the solution and he really meant it. Their reason is to make a heathier game/life balance, but forgot that we're also working to earn money and some would gladly pay with their payment and now he forced us to spend extra time dailies to progress. Wongy thinks it may give us a choice to purchase that BS Booster and that booster also gives a Choice to select Sol Erda energy or the fragment and call it "Free of Choice", but the True "Free of Choice" is to let people decide to do dailies if they have time or to spend their free time on the weekends to farm and progress. This WINNING OR LOSING strategy IS THE SHORTEST WAY TO KILL THE OVERSEASE MAPLES, YAY, FOR THE GLORY OF KMS, YOU WIN.

If this is coming to GMS I’m quitting maple. I’ve spent the past 3 months making a new main with hyper burn to get my first 260 just to enjoy this. I left 3 toons around 250-255 because the mobbing sucked and I didn’t have fun grinding just bossing. I made a DW to enjoy mobbing and bossing, and I do. Patiently waiting for this update and this shit happens. This update literally tripled my playtime. I got my daughter to play with me. We were stoked for this. If this shit is real we are quitting. it depends on your bank, i would call them and ask them about their policies on chargebacks and stuff but generally speaking you should be able to. just say that the NX charges were not authorized and that the vendor refuses to refund or something and they should side with you. it's a bit of a hassle but if you spent a lot like me then it's probably worth it. goodbye GSE badge o7

Idk, this time it's different. I wouldn't recommend pushing to end game with the way the 6th Job system is being implemented in GMS. Getting to "end game" post new age will be time capped like never before. Caution yourself. I advise taking a break right now until they remove the cap.

Don’t get me wrong I really feel for the end game players but just remember some of us enjoy the game and I’m not gonna let one thing get me down . I miss totems on reboot I miss kana I liked my Jett but nothing ever got me down. This is something that hasn’t been taken from me it’s just a small to medium hindrance. Listen, I've been playing maple since the launch of GMS. But saying "I won't stop playing (x years vet) is almost the same as someone who smokes saying "Yeah but I've been smoking for 10 years! Can't stop now." Even though it's killing them slowly (I know maple doesn't straight kill you, but you still spend time (a finite ressource of your life) on a game that definitely isn't working out too good. I've been off the gane for a year and a half after almost 18-19 years. You can't keep your feet in the door of the addiction and still hope for the best. (Not judging your reason to stay and play, just wanted to write a bit on the feelings I have of people saying they "can't quit"

I didn't like the direction of the game long time ago so I became a filthy casual player but I always fully play the big patches, I'm ready to hit uninstall if the memo sucks which its probably going to. This is absurd, guys some of you already pay 15 bucks per month for a pet that should be in game for free; are you really going to pay $45 per month just to play the game? think about it.
Great thought process. This update is especially harmful for casual players because it will limit them by the days they put into the game, instead of allowing them to go hard when they actually have the time to play, like on the weekends. We'll see what the memo says...

Hmm I'll elaborate. The cap is shitty but with the amount I play, 100 hours was probably even being pretty generous, I don't think I'd get anymore than the cap allows regardless. I just don't have much of a problem with the booster. The price is pretty steep for what you get, but the overall price of the game still remains objectively low

Been a part of Maple since late 2007, the difference between that era and now is incredible! The way the artstyle evolved to what it is now is insane! It's honestly a shame to see such change come at the cost of milking its playerbase dry due to a greedy company. I personally gave up back in 2019 and have spent my time on [REDACTED], but it just doesn't have the same feel that official does. I'm hoping they revert this p2w doodoo feces change.

1 remove the cap
2 make everything sol erda completely untradable with the exception of storage.
3 make everything sol erda tradable but put a daily cap on AU and trade transactions to make affect botters bottom line substantially.
That’s all I came up with, sadly botters are a thing that will allways be here to stay but don’t pretend to not have options when you do.
