I like wearing a white or off-white completely unlined linen jacket over a polo on hot days. It's airy thanks to the linen and no lining (not even sleeve lining), and thanks to the white color it's cooler in the sun than not wearing it.
Go for bright colours and linen but yeah don’t layer too much we all know the feeling from Tropical countries 😅 it’s also the humidity not only the heat, quite a torture.
If you layer Earth tones, you pretty much can't go wrong. Blues, browns, greys, mid/dark green, burgundy, and white/off white. Stick to those colour combinations and you can always layer well. As you gain experience, you can start combining patterns and textures as well.
You absolutely can go wrong with the colors you named. Burgundy and brown isn't acceptable in some regions, and burgundy and green will bring out the worst in atheists or pagans. Been there, done that. I had a ren faire costume in dark green and burgundy, taken right from an illuminated manuscript, and I was verbally assaulted by a wicca woman who screeched, "It looks like Christmas!" over and over and scared some kids.
Just to add, if I were going to start from the beginning, I would stick to black, gray, and white. Navy is too hard to match unless you buy everything from the same brand in the same season of the same year, because they like to alter even basic colors from year to year. Black is easy; even if the sheen is slightly different from one garment to another, different textures will usually solve that problem, like black twill pants with a black sweater, or black leather jacket.
Layer is a serious flex when you do it right. You look like a millionaire (conservative look) who has culture. Actually being that person is up to you 😉 Excellent video!
Antonio, this has to be one of your best videos. You make things simple, giving excellent advice on using colors and textures to create a multidimensional look, being able to change your look by adding and removing layers throughout your day. Absolutely fantastic!!
These are all super nice combinations though very informal and modern, I go with classic stuff for autumn: Grey striped Winchester shirt with club collar Formal Cravat in silver grey with a white glass stone pin on a silver base Textured light grey six button waistcoat Three button single breasted white pin stripes on charcoal grey suit with grey silver mother of pearl buttons Dark grey coke hat with black band and rim and now for a little contrast to the greys and silvers Burberries (yes, with the classical genitive and the unchanged till the 90s WW1 pattern cut) trench-coat in it's classical light khaki colour And nothing here's even remotely complicated (and we have a whopping four layers here) - just layering a single type of "colours" (black and white are none, but for the purpose here they will be regarded as such) until you reach a point, either an accessory like the tie or the outermost layer to change the colour palette and even that is still harmless here because it's an "almost" neutral with khaki being a brown-ish colour. Of course you could add another element in this and maybe do what I do sometimes and wear the accessories in, say, purple which goes well with pretty much anything anyway. That's my lame advice for formalizing it up, to go down with the formality... well, there's everything here in great detail😸 Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
Great video Antonio. Your military history is spot on. I always find fleece to be difficult to layer. It looks good as an outer garment but as a layer it’s too thick and warm.
Great channel! Great content! I really like your take on mens fashion as a mature man because it is stylish without trying to look too young. Grace and style every time!
Autumn and winter are the best for layering. I love experimenting, and seem to be subconsciously using lots of the tips you suggested, but also learnt quite a lot more. I picked up some bright colour t-shirts and polos last year and love combining them with black jeans, and my blue denim shirt, and another layer or two on tip. Just works so well. Also, the classic Hoody with overcoat/parka/denim coat on top works so well too. Thanks Antonio, keep up the good work!
I would be cautious using analogous colors if you're a fashion novice. I can think of several analogous colors that look *terrible* together. For example, loden green + emerald green. Or hot pink + tomato red. Instead, I would recommend (for fashion novices) that all colors be neutrals (black, white, gray, brown, navy), with the exception of accessories that can incorporate *one* non-neutral color. Obviously, for people who understand colors, there's no need to be that restrictive. (And that's essentially what Antonio said.)
Hi Antonio great video I like the three things that you have mentioned: Inspiration, imitation and application man I used these a lot I am down here in South Africa and have been listening to your videos since 2015 when I was in Italy
Count on the government to take credit for something men have been doing for years. You put out a question a while back about cowboys. The drovers on the trail drives were masters of layering as in the mornings it would be cool and as it warmed up during the day they could take of a layer and put it back on later in the day.
Layering is a lot older than 1943. Watch movies from the 1930s; layering was normal, from farmers to the upper class. Shirt, sweater, jacket. Shirt, jacket, coat. Shirt, vest, jacket, coat. Normal.
Yeah, even when I think of early Arctic or Everest expeditions they certainly didn't have to wait until 1943 to wear multiple layers of clothing. Not even mentioning people like shepherds living in the mountains.
With the Summers we have here is so hot I don't worry about the layering but when I was military and we was doing Arctic training we would honestly have up to five layers where we could take a layer off and still stay warm
Hey Antonio love your vids especially on fragrances… always giving good insight and info needed to select and collect. Can you please review the Louis Vuitton fragrances if you haven’t? I been seeing a few reviews and maybe I missed your breakdown on this? Please share with me if you could or haven’t done it. Like to no if it’s good or a pass on Louis Vuitton fragrances for men & women? Thanks 🙏 again
Hey Antonio big fan of your channel and seen many of your videos and i'm a big fragrance guy myself and ik this video is about clothes but it's your most recent so wanted to ask what you think of Lucky brand Lucky You cologne. I've never seen you talk about it in your videos and am very curious what you think about it cause over the yrs i've gotten more compliments from this than anything i've ever worn and it's actually my signature scent. Please lmk what you think and keep the awesome videos crankin.
Antonio, I ador your videos. I been thinking about a video with gifts for men. Maybe a guide to drive us to choose a great gift. I'll appreciate that, thank you and I wish to you all the best. 🤝😃😃♥️
it's 66° in Virginia as I type this I am so loving autumn. I'm so over the Summer's heat and humidity. I'm looking forward to rocking some reds, oranges, brown, yellow and some grays when we get into November.❤️🧡💛🤎
The right layers can work well for heavier guys. Wear either an overshirt, jacket, or coat, but leave it completely undone. By having the open top layer, you divide your body into thirds, which creates a slimming optical illusion. (Each third is fairly narrow.) Suits and sports coats also work well for heavy guys, provided that they're structured and well tailored. The structure creates a more rectangular illusion over the round body shape. Because of their design, you can button a suit jacket or sports coat and still have it flatter your larger torso.
Hi ,again an amazing video keep going. Take a look at the 5 minute crafts video {22 style hacks men should know } and if you want make a react it will have fun .
It's still good advice. I find women's fashion advice is often kind of "out there" and needlessly complicated, likely to lead us into making the kind of mistakes that will make the men in our lives ask, "Wth are you wearing?" If they don't say it, they think it. Men's classic, traditional style is a very solid basis for everyone.
Feel like im the only one at my age that wants to dress more mature, hopping on every trend when you can spend your money on quality masculine clothes just seems stupid. To be a man you can not dress as boys

Update help for Big &Tall men's style, please
It does not matter how many wear it wrong or poorly, the suit, hat and khaki colored trench coat is a combo I will always love dearly.
Best part of cooler months is the opportunity to get those layers on (and fall fragrances). Love it. Thanks Antonio.
Totally agree!
I get excited by fall clothes coming back. I find summer clothes very boring. Love to layer.
Me, living in a tropical country and sweating after wearing a single layer.
I know the feeling, man 😅

Sometimes I think it’s not the environment but our our body, brothers🫠🫠
Here in Brazil, we DO get what you mean, my friend.

I do the jacket over hoodie thing all the time, it's one of my favourite looks.

Formal Cravat in silver grey with a white glass stone pin on a silver base

and now for a little contrast to the greys and silvers
Burberries (yes, with the classical genitive and the unchanged till the 90s WW1 pattern cut) trench-coat in it's classical light khaki colour

Literally the vid i needed right now after buying a beautiful genuine leather jacket and some beautiful suit coats at goodwill!
Thanks, very useful and comprehensive!!

Great video Antonio! Very informative as I was never comfortable layering clothes because I didn't know how.
Anyone know what leather jacket/overcoat is in the middle picture of the thumbnail (dark brown)?
Like this a lot, this is my style. lots of inspirational images including one I never considered -hoodies.

Mr Centeno, I have a recruiting company called Centeno International, don't ask me how, anyway, I think you're amazing! Thanks for all that you do
The texture idea put words to something I noticed with Daniel Craig's character in Knives Out. Dude was killing it in that picture!
If I recall correctly, he was almost always wearing one tweed layer, which is a great way to add texture to an outfit.
Below you will find the very best layer ever created.
1. Bread.
2. Cheese
3. Meat.
4. Lettuce and Tomato.
5. Condiments
6. Bread.
Amazing video man i love it is very usefull love it !!! Thanks
Fashion : Men look amazing with layer clothes
Me in tropical country : Layers? You have a fever? 😩
I'll be on a nude beach in a few months.
Layers are hat, sunglasses and footwear.
I like the jacket you are wearing! I’m currently looking for something like that.
With the Summers we have here is so hot I don't worry about the layering but when I was military and we was doing Arctic training we would honestly have up to five layers where we could take a layer off and still stay warm
What jacket * brand * were you wearing in this video? I have been trying to find a similar style jacket to the one you wore. Any help would be great.
I live in California so fall/winter are the only time I get to layer properly
I waited so long for the intro music it never came. 😔 It prepares my mind for to receive the info. Great vid.

I wish I could layer but I live in south central Florida and I’m not good with heat lol
Great vid!!
I'm having problems finding work sneakers that doesn't look immature, what would you suggest
Just in time for fall
Love your content, long time subscriber....where can I find artwork similar to that in your background? Is there a name for that style? Thank you.
what about a leather jacket half length

Great share, this is my style
Hell yeah let me layer up in 70° - 80° weather in November
Is that a wool jacket?
2 sizes up on 3rd layer? Seems big to bigger key
Antonio, I ador your videos. I been thinking about a video with gifts for men. Maybe a guide to drive us to choose a great gift. I'll appreciate that, thank you and I wish to you all the best. 🤝😃😃♥️
Im glad i got here early!
BEAUTY STARTS FROM WITHIN LIPS.
Are you able to wear a coat with peak lapels over a suit jacket that has notch lapels?
I would assume so, because the top layer will cover the lapels of the lower layer.
Can anybody who isn't sponsored vouch for cuts?
You deserve a super like 👍

Great
What about guys who are a little bit more chubby ?. Not all of us have a model type body.
No different. Just buy clothes that fit you. You'll go wrong when you wear clothes that don't fit.
The right layers can work well for heavier guys. Wear either an overshirt, jacket, or coat, but leave it completely undone. By having the open top layer, you divide your body into thirds, which creates a slimming optical illusion. (Each third is fairly narrow.)

Yep that usually works. But changing one's diet and adding some exercise works too (unless there's an underlying medical condition of course).
Hi ,again an amazing video keep going.

First!
When you aren’t a guy but watch it anyway:

I love his videos. Some of it can be applicable to women, but I also want my boys to know how to dress well. Antonio has helped me tremendously!
Feel like im the only one at my age that wants to dress more mature, hopping on every trend when you can spend your money on quality masculine clothes just seems stupid. To be a man you can not dress as boys
I live in Arizona bro I can't be wearing layers
So why are you watching a video about layering? Even the thumbnail was clear about it.
@@edennis8578 probably because I wanna learn about it, u can infer why I was watching it right? U have a brain so use it
Hello gentlemen, you talk a lot. Sometimes it is very annoying.
What? It's an advice video. What did you expect?
Not sure what the fuck is going on with that colour wheel, wearing opposites, so red and green… you’ll like a traffic light
Yeah, the US army didn’t invent layering.
