Tom Ford Oud Wood vs Oud Wood Intense
This is my Tom Ford Oud Wood vs Oud Wood Intense video. A video for Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense Review along with Tom Ford Oud Wood Review. I'm a huge fan of Tom Ford Oud Wood and I absolutely love the way this oud fragrance smells. So I was very excited to find out about Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense being a fan of the original I'm always curious to see what they will come up with. This is definitely a different take on Tom Ford Oud Wood. And be prepared to like animalic style oud fragrances. More Middle Eastern/Arabic style oud perfumes.

Our wood intense is beastly, I actually like it, but here's the kicker in order to pull it off you must be wearing white t, leather jacket and jeans to bring it all together, definitely a unapologetic bad boy fragrance!

I love Oud Wood. Definitely in my top 3 Ouds. When buying Oud Wood, the sales person tried to push the intense on me. It was just awful. So harsh and unrefined.
My favorite Oud is Oud satin mood, it is a beautiful beast that pushes for hours and hours.
Several unsolicited compliments every single time I wear it.
    Love your content, Sebastian.
Please let us see your collection, it must be so incredible. You seem to have everything!!!!

That's the type of salesperson that could make me avoid the store.
Their job is to try to find out what perfumes match your personal preference, not try to push merch that they themselves like or aren't selling well in the store.

The more fragrances you try, the wider your scent palette becomes.

Love oud wood, i bought mine while i was on vacation during the fall, and longevity was good, however back in the sunny days, it does become a problem... i guess its true that it’s meant for fall/winter

I do like Creed's Royal Oud. I was completely surprised about it's likeability .
I've never sampled Oud Wood. I will though.
Been waiting for your comparison between these two .

Oud Wood intenSe is gold. The fact that it pushes you away is so much the thing that gets me again and again with the house of Tom Ford. After transitioning so many times from hating and not getting the smells of Tuscan Leather, Tobacco Oud, London etc. into understanding and loving them the house of TF still got me with this one. I hated it genuinely, then I of course fell in love with it.

This is a fragrance I've heard all things about. From envy one account it's a really wearable oud which would be a great introduction to oud for someone like me who has no experience with oud. I've been wanting to sample this one for quite some time as I think it may well be bottle worthy. Thanks for you take on this one.

I tried this at an airport recently and could hear people on my flight asking 'what is that smell' and not in a complimentary way. My girlfriend said that's you that smells. Safe to say Il be sticking to the original lol. Great review again keep em coming.

  • @frederickfrahnken-shteen7717

Just got a decant of this after smelling it at an insanely great cologne shop at the Dead Sea (!), where they had testers for super high-end fragrances, including all Tom Fords, including discontinued ones like OWI, all the Memo leathers, Parfums de Marly, etc. (Stuff that you've only read reviews about, and simply cannot test at U.S. stores.)
It's extremely strong -- one spray's more than enough -- and super-duper animalic. I described its scent to my nephew as that of this scenario: a wolfman in leather pissing heavily on a gasoline-soaked bonfire of beaver balls (castoreum).
To be old school, if you know/loved Drakkar Noir, this is like an absolutely demonic & wicked version of that.

Great comparison and I agree with your opinion on the very distinct differences. I love them both. Oud Wood is the classier scent IMHO. O.W. Intense is def more rugged, I like the animalic aspect, which to my nose is actually pretty light compared to many others. Glad I have both.

Could you do one on the different I believe it would be classes of fragrances, oriental, fougere , barbershop etc...... You seem to be the perfect reviewer to do this. I agree. Oud Wood Intense is TOTALLY different than the original. Estée Lauder is undeniably smart in their marketing technique making flankers for Oud Wood and Tobacco Oud. I like it, but I prefer the original like you. If I wanted an animalic Oud, I’d go with something from Roja or Xerjoff. With the TF prices what they are now, you may as well go for the big guns! Great vid as always, Sebastian!

Hey Sebastian...I agree with you on a few points you made. I just picked up 30ml of OEI and you are correct....NOTHING like OW at all. I kinda already knew that so I was not disappointed in that regard. OWI stands on its own and yes, it gets a bit frustrating that they would name this OWI when it smells nothing like OW. I tend to like and appreciate animalic scents so I do enjoy OWI. As much as OW? Probably not but as you eluded to, it does last much longer on skin. Yes, OW could be bottled in a Creed bottle. lol I never thought about it that way until you mentioned it but I do see where you're coming from with that. All in all I think its a good scent. Honestly I just sampled it so I really need to spend more time with it to have a more well rounded opinion. At 1st sniff, I do not think I would spend retail on a bottle. At $300 plus dollars, there are a few other fragrances that I would snatch up 1st before I even considered by OWI. We shall see if further testing changed that! lol Be well sir.

Great review Sebastian. I’ve never tried any of these but I do enjoy the scent of oud if it’s done right. I can’t see the justification of paying so much for the smallest ml. bottle so I’d sample it first. If I really like it then just maybe I’d grab the full bottle.

Big fan of OW, when I first tried OWI I didn't know what to expect, It was a big hit of castoreum I immediately washed it off and swore I wouldn't wear it again. Revisited the decant 2 months later and after a full wearing I loved it and now wear it often, this isn't a crowd pleaser and not for the faint hearted. Be prepared to get mixed reactions :P

When i smell Oud Wood, i picture an Indian or Arabic businessman in a white dress shirt wearing it. That's why I don't wear it. I feel like I'm not the perfect demographic for it. Oud Wood Intense, to me, has an awesome animalic smell that I love, but I have no clue when or where i would wear it lol

This was a marketing strategy bc it should've been named INTENSE OUD but there would've never been the hype. As an Oud fragrance it's really good but hard to wear (like most oud fragrances). OWI is best worn in very cold weather. I have 10ml which is enough for me.

Love Oud Wood and I get great longevity. I think people have performance issues with it because of the Climate in which they are wearing it. Agreed that they are completely different fragrances. Oud Wood is that versatile lighter Oud anybody can wear. Intense is for those much colder days and packs a punch with the leather. I have skin that soaks up fragrance like a sponge so Intense may work better for me. The dry down I love on both but winter in Michigan, Intense is much better with the leather and Oud base.
Tip: layer Fucking Fabulous with Oud Wood Intense. The leather is the main player with the creamy Almond in the opening and Oud as the base but still mainly a gorgeous leather through and through. Hope you enjoy that layering.

They could be slightly different yes. But they should be very close to what the original for sale bottles are.

oudwood intense, to me, is another noir anthracite. its either you like it, or you don't. its nowhere close to being the oud wood we all are familiar with and love. forget the name. dont go by its title. they really should have named it something else. i actually bought two flacons of this oud wood intense (sister went abroad and got a deal) thinking i would adore it. long story short, im just going to sell em off and stick to my oud wood (amongst the two).
**learn from me, smell it for yourself before buying this. dont jump right into the band wagon. dont listen to hypes or people praising it. follow your nose.

It’s Sichuan pepper not Sishuan petter. Google it: 四川 is a Chinese city where Sichuan pepper grows.

Hit the stopper lightly, from 3 different sides, on something made of wood. It's how I opened my Creed flacon, and they actually have a video of it if you search for "opening a creed flacon."

I'm late to the game, still. I just spent $1800 on 200ml of Oud Wood, Tobacco Vanille and Noir de Noir. Because they smell great. I have not tried Oud Wood Intense. Never seen it in the stores.

Oud Wood Intense got discontinued sadly too quick maybe because it was a bit too animalic? But Oud Wood is great and so are TV and NDN!! :)

I sent you 4 pictures of Tom Ford Package & Bottle on Twitter.
I used my friend's account (zayne) because I'm not on Twitter.
Can you please tell me if it looks Real or Fake. It says Tester on the Box but not on the bottle.
Normally i can smell fake perfume but it does smell ok

Tom Ford created oud. But his first one was with YSL. Then he created one with his own name.

Hello Sebastian, I have a quick question to ask you and I figured you could help. So I ordered the large decanter (8.4) from Sephora. But upon opening the box I noticed that the juice in the bottle sat right below the neck of the decanter where it starts to box off. So not 100 % full but 90-95%. When you receive your decanters do they come like that or would you say there might be some juice missing. Please lmk, I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

How’s TF oudwood vs creed royal Oud ???

  • @PatentRob

Tom Ford, not the man, but the brand, is very disingenuous with this marketing trick. Intense is absolutely nothing and I mean absolutely nothing in common with Oud Wood. The Intense scent is leather, not oud. If you package the scent and put oud wood on the label it will sell more than say tuscan leather or plum japanoise. This is really a low one for Tom Ford.

has anyone come up with an explanation for why so many INTENSE version bear little resemblance to the original version? I find it very confusing thanks for another terrific review JIM from MIAMI BEACH
