    Gorgeous scenery, astonishing and breathtaking views. I'm recovering from a back surgery (hernia) and your videos are a bit of a company. They take me out of bed into those lovely journeys. I love Britain. Me and my wife, we are English teachers, here in Portugal, and of course, Britain is always in our hearts. Thank you very much for your wonderful videos.

      Thanks so much for your very kind comments. I haven’t seen a lot of Portugal, but I did once cycle from Faro to Malaga and loved my time there, I hope to return and see more soon

    I am a hiker and wild-camper. Doing Wainwright's Coast to Coast in a couple of weeks, in prep for the John O Groats to Lands' End trip, the following month; in prep for Te Araroa in November, if the body holds out. However, when I can no longer carry the gear - and that time is approaching, sadly - this kind of stuff will be my next move.
    You make it look very appealing. Great stuff!

      I love walking/ hiking it certainly has its advantages, the biggest advantage of the bike is that you can cover so much more ground, without being detached from your surroundings as in a car. Good luck on your adventures

    Nice video Terry. It is obvious that you take an interest in the areas that you are travelling through and take your time to savour the sights and sounds. It all makes for good viewing.
    Regarding the stone post you found near the end of the video, Mr Google has this to say: "After the construction of the Burrator Reservoir, Plymouth Corporation Water Works (PCWW) placed numerous markers on south west Dartmoor. Farms within the water catchment area were purchased and cleared after 1916. The original PCWW 1917 stones appear to follow the line of the Forest of Dartmoor boundary". UA-cam do not allow any posting of links but if you search for some of the keywords above you will be able to find the article.

    Thank you Terry for taking us along. I rode part of this trail on Lejog. That Mini cut things a bit close by the bridge.

      “A bit close” yes there’s always one isn’t there.

    Spent many a day riding the Plym bridge trail with brothers as a Plymouth lad, up to Crapstone, and then racing back as it's basically downhill all the way home 😂. There didn't used to be any lights in the tunnel, and we didn't have any on our bikes, which made navigating that section... well, even more fun when you're looning about like we were!
    Looking forward to the follow up, mad kudos for riding over Dartmoor on a Brompton!

      Yes no A frames perhaps they don’t have the same issues with idiots on motorcycles down here? Glad you’re joining me for the ride I hope to be doing another somewhere up there soon 👍

    Looking forward to seeing the following parts Terry, great scenery as always. Plymouth's a great place to wander around as you found out as the history seems to seep out of every corner there.
    I wonder if you've heard of the Camel Trail from Wenfordbridge to Padstow? I've ridden it a few times and it's got some epic scenery there too. - Andrew

    Very nicely done Terry. May I ask what shoes you're currently wear ing for cycling/walking. I'm yet to find a pair to do both in to be honest?

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. I’m not really fussy when it comes to shoes, I usually wear walking shoes and sometimes sandals in summer

    Hi Terry. Could I ask what sleeping bag you travel with? I'm currently looking into Brompton cycle camping and are intersetd in getting a light weight down bag... but which?

    • @terrysallbikes
      @terrysallbikes  2 роки тому

      Yes, I have several bags, one I currently use most is the OEX Helios Ev 300. Very happy with it, I’d say it makes a great 3 season bag

    What sort of stuff do you eat for breakfast and dinner whilst camping?

    • @terrysallbikes
      @terrysallbikes  2 роки тому

      It varies very much on how long I’m going for and how easy it is to pick up supplies. Typically I take porridge pots for breakfast and a dehydrated camping meal for dinner.
