- In the wake of recent terror attacks in Europe - several of which targeted Jewish institutions - some politicians and religious leaders have predicted an exodus of Jewish people from the continent. In some ways, the numbers stack up. Last year, a record 8,000 Jews arrived in Israel from France - with another 15,000 coming from Eastern Europe.
But some critics argue that reports of Jewish flight are overblown; they accuse Israel of taking advantage of fears in Europe to attract new immigrants and serve the interests of the Israeli state. “We are preparing and calling for the absorption of mass immigration from Europe,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in February 2015. “I would like to tell all European Jews and all Jews wherever they are: Israel is the home of every Jew.”
In the last of a three-part series investigating these predictions of a mass Jewish migration, VICE News visits the West Bank. We meet a family of new French immigrants living in a controversial settlement near the border with Israel, and we sit down with the head of a regional council which is actively recruiting Europeans to move to those communities.

Wasn’t until recently that I learned about this conflict and why it’s happening, and honestly. It’s the dumbest thing ever. I understand people are religious and that itself isn’t why it’s dumb. I see religion as another means to separate humans such as what’s happening In Israel. It’s sad to see many innocent people a lot of children be killed over something that can easily be avoided.

It has nothing to do with religion. For the most part it’s a settler colonialism, ethnically cleansing a group of people who are indigenous to the land, it’s an apartheid state oppressing the Palestinians, limiting their freedom of speech and movement and their basic human rights, it’s also kicking them out of their homes (research Sheikh Jarrah - currently happening) and bombing them, killing their women and children. So as u can see it’s more than just religion.
