This has got to be the best Pilatus PC-12 flight video on UA-cam! Great narration, and we are along for the full ride. There is a lot I can learn from this. Thanks so much for posting this. I will be watching this one many times!
New subscriber here. The PC-12 is my dream plane. Probably never get to fly one,. But, at least I have been to the Pilatus factory in Buochs, Switzerland to view where these great aircraft are made. Keep these PC-12 videos coming. Enjoying catching up on your past videos.
Thank you for watching and subscribing! I would love to visit the Pilatus factory one day! I visited Switzerland years ago and loved the country. The PC12 is a very versatile airplane, really enjoyable to fly. While not the fastest by any stretch, it checks a lot of boxes for our mission.
Apparently piloting a PC12 is quite the eye-squinting, lip pursing, brow-furrowing, gauge scrutinizing, teeth gritting experience. Having said that, nice video.
How come you don't have the Pilatus PC - 12 anymore buddy...?? And was that the PC - 12 NGX....?? Or just the regular Pilatus PC-12....??? Thank you Richard! This was my first real video and I picked up watching it back a lot of stuff I say that I don't realize. Most of the time I am more mumbling to myself ;).
Awesome. Love the detail. From start up to shut down including ATC. For a PPL is nice to see anything like this with aircraft way more complex than a C172. Thanks again.
How come the G600 seems to be setup the "wrong" way with the PFD on the right instead of the left half. Can you change that setting in the menu? Is it just personal preference for you?
Good question! Pilatus (and I believe TBM) allowed the install to be "backwards" on the pilot side (co-pilot is done "normal"). The reason for this is having the display on the right makes more sense as I can keep my left hand on the yoke and PTT, while my right hand operates the PFD on the right side where the knobs are. Around 17:11 shows an example of this. When I went for the install, they offered both ways but pilot feedback was much higher with the way I have it done. I'm happy with how it came out and is set-up, definitely makes it easier (speaking from experience on a G500 done the normal way in a Bonanza).
Very interesting! Thanks for that info. That makes sense. I am only used to the G1000 so I don't usually have that restriction you'd have with the G600. It just takes getting used to I assume to have the PFD right of the ND.
I often see pilots in "startup" say, "Good startup". What is a bad startup? What happens? I've never seen that. Can you shed some light on that, please?
Hi Jeff, thanks for your note. Essentially we are watching to make sure NG and temperature (ITT) are rising as they should (as well as oil pressures and temperatures). A bad start would be that NG rises and then essentially stalls which can indicate a hung start. Another bad start (and expensive start) would be when the ITT rises extremely rapidly and overtemps the engine. From what I have been taught at training, a hung start is far more common than a hot start on a PT6, but you always have to be watching for both and ready to react should something not go as planned.
Dave Miller thank you! You should be able to find some online or eBay. The one I am using is from Simcom where I went for initial and go for recurrent.

Philipe Davis - this is an older /45. The start switch, fuel pump switches, etc, are all down below. The only thing on the overhead for me are GEN 1 / 2, avionics 1 / 2, seat belt sign, etc.
Twisted Clown very cool! I’ve been going for about 20 years, nothing like Oshkosh! Awesome! I am actually supposed to fly with Baron Pilot the weekend before Oshkosh, he is planning to come to the t34 formation clinic in Manitowoc.

I'm flying on my first Pilatus PC-12 for the first time this Sunday, I'm very excited!! 🛩️💯
Enjoy!!!!
Love your PC-12 videos man, keep on making them
Thank you Alison!
and man, why does the yoke keeps going crazy, like in off
Are you referring it moving around during start-up?
yeah, it kinda goes back and forth
It was a bit windy that day which caused that.
Just watched this entire flight video and was captivated. Excellent production quality and narration. Great job!!
Thanks for your kind words!
So flight now is all automated? Where's the fun in that.

Sold our company. Still flying, just haven't made any videos. No, this was a legacy PC12 (/45).
Even planes have traffic jams 😆
Great Garmin upgrade. Does your PC-12 have the Finnoff 67P engine upgrade?
Bob, we have the 67B. This airplane only has 2700tt, so even at OH it'll still make sense (for us) to go with the B being a first run OH.

So, where are you going today? Oh, nowhere special. Just going to Dumber 😆 yeah I know it's probably not spelled that way.

how comfortable it for people who are 190 and more height?
Shouldn’t be an issue. I would routinely fly with someone that was over 6’ and 190-200 lbs , he never had a problem.
Awesome video dude. keep them coming!

Nice video. Quick question - why does the yoke move back and forth while you are not touching it when running through your checklist?
Hi Matthew - it was a bit breezy sitting on the ramp which was causing that.
is this beautiful Pilatus upgraded to Garmin 650 / 700 package ?
Thank you for your comment! Yes, this is recently upgraded to a dual G600 panel, as well as the GTN650/750.
Very Good flight!
Thank you Strefa!
seeing you vid for the first time. are you normally a single pilot pilatus flyer?
T Becker yes, a majority of my flying is single pilot.
Great video. Where can one pick up that checklist for the Pilatus?

Oh I mean your cardigan or whatever you guys call it. Awesome plane, very lucky to be flying that. Nice one
Thanks - middle of winter so I was trying to dress warm, not going for any style points lol. Thank you for watching, its a great airplane to fly!
Haha, for sure. You can look cool wearing anything flying that plane. Thanks, safe flights.

It takes forever to get off the ground...!
I don't recall my info from that day, but it shouldn't have been more than about 2500'. I was about 600 lbs under MTOW.
How tall are you and how does that seat fit?
5'9" = seat is fine, no issues. I use an Oregon Aero seat cushion for comfort.
