2011 f550 superduty 6.7 I just fixed mine to, after trips to ford new fuse kick module & a few mechanics, nobody could fix it but your method worked, thanks
I was going to get another alternator but I’m going to check out the red wasn’t sure where it was soppose to go. But now I do. I checked the yellow and purple was good.
Thank you a lot. I found the same on my 2011 6.7 and fixed it with a crimp connector at the cable tray. First the red cable looked fine after cutting the zipties and pulling it gently out. But one slight tug and voila the cable separated. New zipties and electrical tape and ALL IS GOOD. Saved me a lot of time and money AAA+++
Suggestion: Take out the "F-550" in your description since this repair applies to 250, 350, and 450. You may get more views. Also, this issue can cause more than the battery light to come on/off. It can also cause certain components to shut down due to over voltage. Such as the blower motor & instrument panel since these have voltage protection usually at 16v and higher. Good video. Thanks for making it.

@@doggychuck to the pcm. Both the yellow and violet wire go to the pcm

How big of a fuse did you use?
What if that still doesn't fix it?
