  • Red vs. green, that is the question! In this video JB goes over the benefits of a green reticle and why you may want to consider buying one...or three. Long story short, green is easier to see and can help if you are color blind or have certain astigmatism.

Through thick glasses green shifts less AND it shifts in the direction your head is turning. Red shifts twice as much and in the opposite direction. If you are a glasses wearer, look at a gas station sign with green and red pricing and turn your head as your eyes stay focused between them. You'll see the shift. It's important to consider when picking up a dot sight like this.

      If you are serious...
please ditch the big 68 moa circle and provide a chevron reticle with 1 moa bullet drop dots under the chevron.
Chevrons snap onto targets very quickly and the 1 moa dots below the chevron would work perfectly with a magnifier for distance shots.
Also... please match the 1 moa bullet drop dots below the chevron with a 14.5 inch barrel and 62 grain 5.56 projectiles.
This reticle would be a huge win for EOTECH!

I transitioned to green many years ago when it first started becoming popular and never liked it. I noticed that the green washes out much faster under the sun when it’s bright and it definitely blends a little more with the environment at distance. Plus red just pops more. It’s such an unnatural color and we are also programmed to catch it since anything red is usually a “stop” or “caution” notice.
I personally think it’s a gimmick but who knows, there might be some people out there that are color blind that may find it better to use.

The most comparable sig options are around high $500 and above. It’s not just an “overpriced red dot”. Holographic sights work entirely differently, they’re easier to use when magnified, have less parallax and most importantly don’t immediately go down if the glass breaks unlike a red dot which will. There are Eotechs that have taken a round through the glass that still project a usable reticle.

@@FireCampSecurity Yes, Thanks for the correction, Cones are concentrated in the middle of the retina, with fewer on the periphery. Six million cones in each eye transmit the higher levels of light intensity that create the sensation of color and visual sharpness. There are three types of cone-shaped cells, each sensitive to the long, medium or short wavelengths of light. These cells, working in combination with connecting nerve cells, give the brain enough information to interpret and name colors. Hopefully that is more information:)
