It takes alot of energy to power the best optic on the market and trust me, we hear you. As battery technology improves, we'll be the first to implement it.
@EOTECH best optic on the market? Going to have to agree.. I've used a competitor holographic, and while it's 'ok', still doesn't compare to EOTech XPS/EXPS. Now, if I could just find that EFLX in stock somewhere! 😏 I'll have it one of these days..
@Brett B I love that rifle! The M4A1 RIS III had become my personal fav since I really started getting out and using it more. That rail is amazing! And, really happy that Daniel Defense has is making ambi lowers now. 🤙 sorry about the late reply! lol 😏
For all of the "Shake Awake" people, when do you actually see yourself using that? Is it just so you can grab your rifle and shoot without pushing a button first? That's the only use-case I can see for a rifle. It's not going to save you any battery life over manually turning it off. The difference in battery life comes down to Red Dot vs Holographic. You're not getting 50,000 hrs on a holographic sight. You ARE going to get a lot of other benefits that are specific to holographic sights, such as that 1 MOA dot when paired with a magnifier.
I would not have a red dot or holographic sight for home defense or combat that I have to turn on when I need it. It has to either have enough battery life to leave on 24/7 or shake and wake. Back in my younger days when I was wild and lived a crazy life, I experienced someone kicking in the door and coming in shooting. I can assure you there is no time to find the button and push it to turn on the reticle on the optic. The holographic sight does not have enough battery life to leave it turned on without having shake and wake.
Trust me we hear you. Having the most rugged optic on the market means it needs to stand up to a lot. As technology progresses we'll be the first to use new alloy's and technologies to get the weight down. in the meantime i'd rather have an optic that can stand up to anything.
@@Sdukes001 The superior field of view combined with the durability of the EOTECH makes it the best choice for CQB guns in my opinion. If a handful of ounces in weight difference between the EOTECH and T2 is that big of a problem for you, just do some push ups.
You know, looking back at hops vid on the bushnell holo sight, I kinda think eotech should try to recycle the body design of the bushnell holosight and see if they can make a mini holo sight. It may not fit on a handgun but it could be usefull for a pdw. Maybey even the flux mp17 if small enough.
Love my eotech 512. Ended up buying both an eotech 512 and a holusun 510c just cause I wanted to see which would work better with my astigmatism. Loved the holosun too, but in the end, the eotech worked better with my eyes and sold the holosun. Plus it's US made and no red glare in the sunlight. Shake awake feature would be really nice though.
@@toddb930 I didn't. My 512 is a fuzzy outer ring with a clear dot. The holosun I had was the opposite. A fuzzy dot with clear outer ring. With glasses both were perfect. But I don't always wear glasses so the clearer dot on the 512 was the obvious choice.
My prism scope has bullet RISE comp, rather than bullet DROP comp, with the 65 moa circle and 1 moa dot, it has holds from 5yrds to 15yrds and 50/200 really handy for distances I'll be shooting
EoTech is still top of their game but as always, theres room for improvement especially for the year 2023. Like others have already mentioned, a toggle button to switch between different types of reticles would be massive. I love the Eotech reticle, but sometimes I just want a simple 1 dot reticle without having to completely change up my optic. I don't imagine this type of tech is easy to make, let alone cheap, but it would put Eotech holographic sights miles ahead of the competition.
@@NeonVars 510C. It has 3 different reticles; an Eotech style reticle, a Eotech ring without the dot, and just a Normal dot. It has a shake awake feature, or a normal on-off setting; the battery life is so much better because you can actually turn it off, also it has an auto- brightness feature AND a panel on the top to use the sun as a source of power… so a battery isn’t even required if you wanna use that. I’ve used Eotechs before and they’re nice, definitely top of the line. But I’m not a fan of how bulky they are and the extra weight too. I love my 510c, you still get a super open sight picture while also being compact unlike the Eotech. It has a lot more features as well, unlike the Eotech. I would definitely look at it if you’re searching for something along the lines of that
@@dylonbronson4542 I've used one before and have been considering purchasing one. While the 510c is nice during the day, it doesn't compete with Eotech's night vision capabilities, which is why I primarily use their holographic sights. Window and reticle clarity is important under nods, especially when using a single PVS-14. When your RDS completely blooms out your target under NVGs it becomes rather useless to where investing in an IR laser is a better option. Really depends though because when I used the 510c it worked decent enough under certain bright lighting conditions, but not in truly dark environments. If Holosun fixes these problems, I'm putting the 510c at the top of my list.
Can I still get a replacement for my 512 that had thermal issues purchased years ago? Only learned recently about this issue. It still works great, but would prefer to not have problems.
Why does my Eotec kill batteries, even when powered down? I'm not the only one who has brought up this issue. I have had to remove my battery when in storage.
A longer battery life or a solar feature and I'll buy. And are they ever going to produce new housing designs for the optic. Something less boxy and more light framed.
4 to 14 hours and it will shut off when you are not moving it around and it will come back on? Is that what you said or is that what I heard around 7:20?
Only thing that's keeping me from getting an EOTech is lack of shake awake, which would also allow a shorter auto shutoff timer. For now, I'll stick with my Sig Romeo1 RMR. Smaller and lighter too.
That is why I never really like my old 512. I could never pick up the reticle out on full daylight. Forget about using it on my department’s white targets.
Which model allows 14 hrs before auto shutoff? I prefer the eotech, however because I work 12 hour shifts, I have always used aimpoint. Turn on and leave on. I refuse to use an optic that I have to try and remember in the middle of a 12 hour shift, that I need to monkey with it to reset the timer so it isn't off if I grab it.
I was wondering the same thing. I love my Eotech but I would personally prefer if it just stayed on until you shut it off. Maybe they could make the down button 8 hour auto shutoff and the up arrow permanently on.
@Christian Phillips and If I forget, or don't want to access it in the middle of the shift... then no sight. That's why I currently use aimpoint optics. Turn on and leave on. If it was on a swat rifle where you have a heads up that you are going in with a long gun, that's different. If it's a rifle that goes in my locked rifle rack in the patrol car, I want to turn it on and leave it on. Or, turn it on and make sure that if I grab it 9 hrs into my shift, that it hasn't timed out.
How is this for people with astigmatism that typically see a fuzzy red dot or star burst red dot? Is this reticle any clearer for them, or worse? And what kind of 3x magnifier is suggested for this holographic sight?
I love how it’s 2023, we have people living in space, multiple companies are upping their battery life an innovating their products, but Eotech is like….we can’t make it better. It’s as good as it will get
There must be an optical scheme to make reflex sights reticle bigger than usual (the actual reticle that is in focus point of the lens, the light source) and so the center dot could be finer than usual. If somebody know of an optic/patent, whatever that allows that, please share.
Really like my exps3 except.., I recently picked up a G33 magnifier and now my "dot" is more like 3 or 5 scattered dots. That kinda bothers me, anything I can about that?
Love Eotech’s. I’ve gotta XPS3 on a Unity riser and works great with my PVS14 but Eotech is literally the Glock of optics. Great product but never changes or improves anything or adds any features.
I love my XPS2-1 my eyes are terrible and having clear glass and a single 1 MOA dot without the ring is perfect. I just wish my eyesight was better and that 1moa dot wasn't a 3moa cluster but it is still better than and LPVO red dot or prism I've tried. Highly recommend more shooters with bad eyes try the 2-1 dot only.
I understand that the power consumption of a laser-based weapon sight is much greater than that of an LED red dot, but for those of us who like to always have the sight on, could you please consider a dual 123 or 18350 cell EOTECH that drew from only one cell at a time? You could place a small LED in the rear or have the reticle blink to indicate when one cell is consumed. That way, the user would know that he's halfway through his total battery life and replace the spent cell. Thanks!
If your carrying a eotech and working you change the battery every month. And that’s leeving it on full time never off. If you want to turn it on just when needed for most people it be once a year change it..
Definitely a pretty penny but worth it! I love my EXPS 3-0 In conjunction with my G45 magnifier. The only thing I wish they came with is a cover for the optic and the magnifier so that way dust and stuff doesn’t get on the optic while it’s stored.
I feel like I’ve seen flip covers for Eotech’s before? Couldn’t tell you who makes them but I feel like I’ve seen them in the past. Magnifier I’ve never seen any covers for unfortunately
What we should be talking about is why eotech hasn't made power or efficiency improvements for a better end user product. But us non contracted individuals will keep just moving to newer tech
I know our HWS are already basically magic, but battery technology is the limiting factor. Trust me when I say that as soon as the technology is there, we will use it.
@EOTECH.....Thank you for great products! I have a considerable amount of experience with your products as well as many others. I am fortunate enough to have and personally own EOTECH, AIMPOINT, VORTEX, HOLOSUN optics. They each have their own issues and strengths. Because of my age and associated astigmatism I'm liking the "green" options much better! I may be getting a Green EOTECH soon!
I have a love hate relationship with EoTech. I have ONE EoTech and 3x magnifier on one of many rifles. I LOVE it. I have many other competitors on other rifles that I would like if I didn't have to compare them to my EoTech. I need to find a better paying job haha.
It's been ten years and exps 4.0 isn't in the works and with Sig going with the chinese made holographic I don't think you guys will reign superior any longer with you LOTS RESTING ON YOUR LAURELS! Even Meprolight has solved the led reflection from the front side, it's only a matter of time before Holosun incorporate that into a newer RDS.
@Aprelya pretty ignorant comment but I'll do you one better. I know quite a few guys who've served in special operations or they're still in and none of them shoot passively. It's all with the use of IR lasers. I was never taught to shoot passively when I was in. I have night vision now as a civilian and I don't shoot passively.

Love my EXPS3! It's hands down the best optic for a PDW/HD/CQB/"Truck Gun." It fills all those niches very well!
I was a huge eotech guy. Now it comes down to weight. This is where I always lean back to my T2.
Trust me we hear you. Having the most rugged optic on the market means it needs to stand up to a lot. As technology progresses we'll be the first to use new alloy's and technologies to get the weight down. in the meantime i'd rather have an optic that can stand up to anything.
@Eotechinc agreed.
I’m definitely guilty of this as well and grab the T2 setup 9 times out of ten plus it’s on a 1.93 mount
@@eotechinc I believe the T2 is pretty sturdy
@@Sdukes001 The superior field of view combined with the durability of the EOTECH makes it the best choice for CQB guns in my opinion. If a handful of ounces in weight difference between the EOTECH and T2 is that big of a problem for you, just do some push ups.
I love the 512. Can not beat the availability and cost effectiveness of AA batteries.
I recenty picked up a lightly used 512 and my astigmatism causes a double ring . Did you see something like this?
@@toddb930 I didn't. My 512 is a fuzzy outer ring with a clear dot. The holosun I had was the opposite. A fuzzy dot with clear outer ring. With glasses both were perfect. But I don't always wear glasses so the clearer dot on the 512 was the obvious choice.
My prism scope has bullet RISE comp, rather than bullet DROP comp, with the 65 moa circle and 1 moa dot, it has holds from 5yrds to 15yrds and 50/200 really handy for distances I'll be shooting
From what company?
I was really hoping this was where you announced the exps4, with shake awake and auto off.
time will tell!
Got an Eotech for free during the fall of Yemen. It's on my ar and used it to hunt hogs. Has never failed me.
Cool story, bro.
Happy New Year once again EOTech.
Holosun got that exact optic you’re wanting
@@dylonbronson4542 Which model do you suggest?
Does the single dot exps 3-1 have a longer battery life?
If you add shake awake and improve battery life, I'll maybe finally buy one of these over a red dot...
Would love to see an EOTECH with bdc and shake awake features. That’s the only thing that sways me toward other optics
great sight, however, its just too freaking bulky. Do you guys make something more slimmed down like the aim point micro t2?
Mine delaminated. I thought to myself, “no big, eotech will take care of me.” $100 plus I get to pay for shipping and insurance! 😂
Our customer service team has your back, reach out to us here: www.eotechinc.com/company/contact

Bring back the changeable reticle plates like the old TV clicker holosights.

@@chrisresnikoff1741 not true
A longer battery life or a solar feature and I'll buy. And are they ever going to produce new housing designs for the optic. Something less boxy and more light framed.
Got my first eotech for christmas! Put it on my ar15. Can’t wait to zero it & try it out this weekend
let us know!
Love this red dot from y’all! Great product!
I’ve owned one EOTech and it was a starburst reticle when I looked through it. Have they improved since then?
Maybe you should get checked for astigmatism. It exaggerates the “starburst” effect substantially on HWS’s.
Red dots don’t have this problem.
Whens the OGL coming out? Thats what the people want!
We want to give the people what they want. Stay tuned for SHOT Show content.
I trust my exps2 with my life, loved my 512 as well!!
Would love to own one… but I just got an LPVO.
LPVO's are great.... but they're not Holographics :D
@@eotechinc Trust me, I'll be getting an EOTECH at some point, but for now...TRAINING!
Please next with shake awake, but also an option shake awake to turn off, and real auto shut off after a few minutes of no movement 🙏
Any news on the OGL laser?
Keep an eye out for news coming from SHOT Show.
My old eotech is barely visible even with new batteries. What's the warranty on old version. 2 AA version
It's literally just a press of a button. Press half way through your shift boom done
Much better, hm3x
Good video Chase!
I love how it’s 2023, we have people living in space, multiple companies are upping their battery life an innovating their products, but Eotech is like….we can’t make it better. It’s as good as it will get
I love my EOTech, but they're delayed in terms of some basic features in my opinion that have been in the game for nearly the past 5-10 years.
EOtech>Aimpoint
I own both and I find myself in love with my Holo sights more regardless of battery life
🥰
I’d love to see one that’s optimized for carry pistols. Make an eotech the size of a Holosun EPS and you’ll dominate the market.
When technology gets there, we're there.
@@eotechinc can’t wait! 👍👍👍
Love your stuff, by the way. My eotech is amazing and I love it.
Outstanding sight, stand up company.
Thank you
I just bought the EOtech HHS V. the 5x magnifier is amazing. I am wondering if you guys are gonna try to make a 6x mag like Aimpoint
I’d be curious how long it could last with a single dot
They do make single dot eotechs
Not a bad idea.
@@eotechinc I found a 3rd party that makes a dust cover for the EXPS but nothing for the G45. Just something to consider
I feel like I’ve seen flip covers for Eotech’s before? Couldn’t tell you who makes them but I feel like I’ve seen them in the past. Magnifier I’ve never seen any covers for unfortunately
I use a crown royal bag as a dust cover on my eotech and acog.
EOTech is cheap for an optic bruh
@eotechinc do you need to read the optic after a battery change?
How do you configure the optic to stay on for 14 hours? Never heard of that one
such a great product, i plan to buy more
Can we have a demo about the night vision?
i love the vertical grip on the pistol
So a red dot that’s inside and bounces off mirrors. Got it? Good.
I'll be getting my 2nd xps2-0 in a month or so, I can't wait
Big 5 Sporting Goods has CR123s, 2 for 4.99 in Oregon.
Best retail storefront price that I've found so far.
My eotech front lens delaminated and the reticle is a blurry mess. They refuse warranty in the Philippines
What was the stock used at the very beginning was it the SI Viper pdw?
What we should be talking about is why eotech hasn't made power or efficiency improvements for a better end user product. But us non contracted individuals will keep just moving to newer tech
I know our HWS are already basically magic, but battery technology is the limiting factor. Trust me when I say that as soon as the technology is there, we will use it.
SHAKE AWAKE @Eotech!! Why is this not a thing yet???
Trust me we hear you, R&D is working their magic. Upgrading the best optic on the market is not as simple as 123.
Is eotech ever going to get the reticle sharper?
Cool story… this ad should have been made in 2012.
And you still have no fix for the delamination issues that have been prevalent since 2012/2013?
That's super cool
But why did you jack the price on the OGL up from $1200 to $2100?
More details on OGL releasing at SHOT.
@@eotechinc can you confirm VCEL?
I have a love hate relationship with EoTech. I have ONE EoTech and 3x magnifier on one of many rifles. I LOVE it. I have many other competitors on other rifles that I would like if I didn't have to compare them to my EoTech. I need to find a better paying job haha.
I need one - Cheers from Switzerland
Is there any way you could increase the clarity of the reticle?
It's been ten years and exps 4.0 isn't in the works and with Sig going with the chinese made holographic I don't think you guys will reign superior any longer with you LOTS RESTING ON YOUR LAURELS! Even Meprolight has solved the led reflection from the front side, it's only a matter of time before Holosun incorporate that into a newer RDS.
Not even comparable for passive aiming under night vision which EOTech is still the king at
@@ClitoridectomyGroyper Plenty of other mfgs are 90-95 as clear with passive as an eotech with none of the rëtarded stuck-in-the-90s tech
@Aprelya passive aiming under NODS is an overstated attribute that does not apply to 99% of users.
@@airborneivan Well yeah because people are poor, I get it
@Aprelya pretty ignorant comment but I'll do you one better. I know quite a few guys who've served in special operations or they're still in and none of them shoot passively. It's all with the use of IR lasers. I was never taught to shoot passively when I was in. I have night vision now as a civilian and I don't shoot passively.
I've had mine since 2005. Thing is a beast.
