This was an extremely helpful explanation.
Thanks man. I got a red dot but my astigmatism is making it distracting enough that I'll exchange it for a green.
I have astigmatism too…so for sure you would say go with green? I wear contacts but not when I sleep…if I ever had a panic moment I wouldn’t have them on…green better?
@@Daniel-1-1-1i would suggest to just look out for battery life so when you sleep, you can keep your bedside pistol optic on with the brightness all the way up.. that or get one with "shake awake" feature and have the settings high brightness just in case!
@@Daniel-1-1-1hey! I know this is a late reply but the internet is forever so maybe I can help someone else. I can say that I have a green holosun with ACSS Vulcan on my pistol and I pick it up very well. I haven’t tried a red dot much myself but I can endorse the green dot enough that it’s a serious consideration over something like an sig, vortex, or monstrum that only offer red dots.
Hello im a newbie…I do wear contacts for astigmatism and i would only use my rifle for home defense and probably won’t have my contacts on during a panic situation…would I need red or green better? I would imagine it would be during night time if I ever had to use
It. Thank you.
Im in the same situation and would like to know
I would also like to know please
Did you ever find the answer. I need to know this as well. Thanks@@kungfupanda6055
Thanks for the clarity (pun intended) of your explanation. My wife and I both have astigmatism, so this has given us great ammunition (again, pun intended) when looking for a dot sight.
Very helpful. Thank you!
very helpful, thank you.
Green uses more battery and mixes in more with green vegetation.
Where is your evidence?
As someone that owns a green dot no it doesn’t. Unless your grass is neon glowing green lol. It just doesn’t.
Also mixes with white background with a flashlight at night.

@@Intothefray347 My eyes and common sense. I never said it blended in 100%, I said it blends in more. Try it yourself with identical sights, in different colors, on the same settings. The battery usage thing is something multiple manufactures have stated. To stand out the same amount against green, the green requires more power.
Thank you!!!
