Love your coat. What a thoughtful baby gift. The bear clothes take it to the next level. I have had the Free Range Slacks pattern for a while and you are inspiring me to get on with it. Tracing out the Blanca is quite the commitment!
Thanks Christine! My favorite part was sewing the tiny clothes for the bear and the overalls were actually a thoughtful construction. After all these sew frugal makes I am committing to the flight suit🤗
Hey Val, love your coat it looks awesome! Well done on finally getting it done, I find the long thought about makes are so satisfying when finally completed.
I thought so too, but I'm 95% sure my pattern said to put them vertically🤷 I just checked all my RTW jackets and the majority of them are in fact horizontal!
LOVE! But don't worry, coat buttons are traditionally horizontal (to accommodate extra cording being inserted in a traditional keyhole buttonhole) so you're right on the mark, lol! It's beautiful.
Thank you!! I actually thought so but I swear my pattern says to do them vertically. I will have to check that out to see but either way I'm so happy with it :)
Fab makes Valerie. Your coat, in particular, is fabulous - what a lovely achievement. Thank you for The Sewing Club podcast recommendation. I love listening to podcasts while I sew. Happy sewing 🧵 😊 🧵 xx
Thank you for the lovely mention Valerie 🥰 Gorgeous makes. Love those Free Range Slacks! I've been loving the Sewing Club podcast too! Such a great idea and really useful to listen to x
Your vlogs always make me happy as your lovely personality shines through. Well done to Jordan and Andrew who matched the opening segment perfectly to your vibe x
Thanks for sharing your recent makes! Your coat came out beautiful. My RTW coat buttons are all horizontal so maybe you subconsciously sewed the button holes the "correct" way for a coat??? Regardless, I think horizontal and vertical button holes could work on all garments with buttons 🙂
I'm thinking I was right too! I looked at all of my RTW jackets and they are mostly all horizontal. I'm almost positive that my pattern said to put them in vertically but either way I'm so happy with it! Also, thanks for watching☺
Love the video, the animation and music intro. Your views re the coat are very helpful. I look forward to all your vlogs and will check out the sewing club podcast.
What a fun video!! Your coat turned out super cute and I was dying when you were talking about the buttonholes. I have done that on a shirt!! I was just in my zone and then like whut? Lol Cant wait to hear about rhe flight suit. My daughter wants to make one and she's a newish sewist although she just knocked out some shop pants so I think she can tackle it? She doesn't have a serger so I'm curious about the seam finishes. Take care and have a great week!
Gorgeous makes Valerie....and was just going to say loved the intro.❤
Thanks so much 😊

Always love your videos Valerie and these makes are just gorgeous! I want to try the Free Range Skacks now!
Thank you Amelia! I like that pattern because I feel like there are many opportunities to get a good fit😊
The bear's face... so cute!!
🥰
I think the buttonholes on a coat are supposed to be horizontal instead of vertical. Love your coat. It looks very professional.

After I am done with these sew frugal makes I am committing to the flight suit!
Please do a video of the “broad back adjustment.” I have the shoulders of an Olympic swimmer and I didn’t know that was an option. 🥲
Great idea! I'll add it to my list
