It’s obviously an animals instinct to persist and survive, but this buck was taken by a true woodsman. Something he and you should be proud of! Great deer Jeff!
Guys like you an Hal is why I love hunting the big woods of maine I have yet to get the big infamous big woods buck by tracking but I love to get out and learn. I shot one back in 08 it was 5 lbs shy from the patch but I still try.
They actually have a huge chance, the hunter has little chance. This definitely doesn't happen every try. It still takes tons of skill, patience, knowledge, and a little luck.
I live in the deep south so I don't get a chance to hunt like this. But I remember years ago reading about the Benoit's in Maine doing this and have wanted to try ever since.
My dad always said you spend the time you drink the wine !!! Congratulations Jeff that’s a absolutely beautiful Buck and you should definitely be proud of yourself for being the best Hunter ever and following your own passion
Well Done! All of it. The filming and editing were great. Showed the human side of hunting. Very good decision making with all that was going on. The best part was thanking your Wife and referencing your Dad. You're a good man Jeff Doyle. 👊🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
I truly appreciate the raw emotion you displayed out in the bush. Between the grief, the excitement, and the gratitude, you truly encapsulate a true outdoorsman. I have to find more people like you to appreciate our land with!
Congrats Jeff. No ground shrinkage on that beast. A massive THANK YOU 🙏 for truly keeping the skill of HUNTING alive. Not being someone shooting deer over a pile of corn. Rock on Jeff 🤘😎
Congratulations Jeff!! You are definitely one of the best when it comes to self filming successful hunts on the track. It’s absolutely some of the best deer hunting content there is.
That was an incredible story. I was curious how your 2022 season had ended. Your filming, editing and production are top notch. Although I live and hunt in Northern Wisconsin, your passion is infectious and cannot wait for our season to begin.
Great buck in anyone's woods. Congrats Jeff. Hard work has paid off. Love the camera work. I wish all hunters would use your set up. Actually getting video of the buck jump and running is awesome.
Beautiful buck 👍. I shot 2 bucks last season with my Woodman and there bullets . Both bullets passed right through. I recovered both deer and both 225 gr star tip bullets. The bucks went a long way and left little sign. I used a metal detector and dug the bullets about 10”s out of the ground . Neither had mushroomed at all . Love the rifle ! Not to happy with the bullets terminal performance.
Thanks. The bullets were the Woodman star tip 225gr lead lead core bullets. I’m shooting 77 grains of Blackhorn 209 by weight with the federal 209A prime . That combo was very accurate. I was happy with that. The first Buckeye shot with that set up was 215 pounds at roughly 60 yards in the bullet passed right through the midsection of the year. He was slightly quartering entering the ribs on one side and came out behind the front shoulder on the other . I was shooting downhill slightly, so I had a good opportunity to find the bullet . after digging it out of the ground it had not hardly expanded, just the star hollow part open a little .
Congrats Jeff. It’s always a great day to be in the woods, but to experience a beautiful creature and be able to take one is a wonderful gift from God. It’s always been nice watching your adventures and feel great experiencing this with you. Looking forward to see how you do this hunting season
What an awesome buck and tracking job! So glad I found this tonight! This will be my 50th deer season. I've never had a hunt like this one. Thanks for taking us with you. Best of luck in 23
What a well deserved monster Buck, the fruits of real labour in that drag out. That initial stalk in and tracking was palpably exciting. Fabulous hunting video.
What an awesome hunt! Congrats Jeff! Fantastic footage and an absolutely unreal buck! Truly well-deserved, as always... hard work pays off on the track.
Dang brother. What a slammer of a buck. That big old boy had you rattled but you pulled through. So incredible. I’m all fired up for season now that’s for sure! Bring on the snow!
He did! Luckily I kept it together for the second shot. Hard to believe he just stood there looking back at me and let me reload and take a second shot. It helps to get a little lucky sometimes
I have noticed when tracking deer. If they make a J, the are usually bedded within 80 yards. I love still hunting and tracking. During the rut,I will use a bleat call or grunt. Mainly to see if I can hear one moving or catch a glimpse of move ment. Sometimes they come cruising in I have had this happen while by big scrapes.
You know it was gonna be a bruiser when the mountain hunter sees track and says “holy crap!” Great over the shoulder pov. Love your content and keep em coming! Greetings from Michigan.
Hats off to you! I'm a hunter myself and hunt in Tennessee. I've killed a few good bucks here but ours are smaller down south. I recently joined a new hunting lease and am odd man out. But slowly and surely I'm figuring it out and will soon have pics to share. Admire your persistence and seeing a new style of hunting. We don't have that here but the main thing is the same. Keep trying and keep learning! Great job my friend
Jeff, of the thousands of videos that I've viewed on here, this was by far the best. Congratulations on an amazing hunt and a buck of a lifetime. Great video, and all around extremely well done. Best of luck in your future hunts, keep up the great work !!
Congrats Jeff, I look forward to your videos. This was an uplifter after the day I had today in Central Minnesota. I will be ordering a Woodsman for next year’s hunting season. Your videos and editing are the best. Thanks for Sharing! Al Sharp
Thank Al. If I hadn’t changed to the Woodman .45 cal I would not have connected on that shot. There is a special tracking 200 laser engraved stock available if you’re interested just ask for it.
Enjoyed the video and liked the details of when he J hooked, separated from does and when he slowed down after eating. My favorite thing about your videos is that you never edit out the humanity, flaws, or mistakes. Appreciate the content.
What a buck Jeff! I would echo what a lot of people on here are saying that it’s fitting that a buck like that be taken by an expert tracker and woodsman such as yourself. Keep the videos coming - God bless!
Awesome video Jeff, I found you in the 2022 season and I just love watching hunt. I’m from NH so it’s refreshing to see a New England hunter making videos👍
I love those muzzleloaders right up to the point of having pulled the trigger. Lol Then for some reason all I have a thumbs! And there isn’t much that winds you up more than doing the muzzleloader flip-flop while a great big buck is right there! Plus, no early blood is real common with them things and it drives me nuts too! I was feeling for you every second ha ha ha ha! When he was batted down and we got to see the right side profile… That was some serious bone! Thank you so much for taking the time to carry a camera for the rest of the world. You were not alone that day and we all were celebrating with you! Important people that you do not even know where that may not even be alive yet will get to share your experience and find out who you are/were , and understand the appreciation you have for everything good that happens, they’ll wait for you and bless you. Well done! We are all still smiling!
What a great hunt, Jeff! Fresh snow is such a blessing. I haven't had any in years. Good thing he was with a doe. She kept him around for that follow-up shot. She definitely led to his downfall. I'm glad your wife was a lot more supportive of you than that doe was to him. LOL
Jeff I have been enjoying your videos for quite a few years, always and adventure. Would you consider doing a video on any emergency equipment you might carry with you in your pack such as fire starters, emergency shelters , space blankets etc. I think many might find it interesting and useful!
Great job sir!!! You are a real hunter. As a fellow mountain hunter I can honestly say I learned some stuff from this video. I liked your approach to the changing winds in the final track and the decision to give it a few hours, hard to do in the moment.
Now.. that was an amazing hunt!!! Congratulations to you.. you definitely dispelled the myth of only getting ONE shot at the big boys!!! What a toad of a deer!!! Thanks for taking us along brother ❤
Fantastic buck...great hunt and one of the most authentic hunting videos I have ever seen...took me back to my younger years in the old growth woods of Nova Scotia...sadly mostly gone now!!!
Very beautiful deer. Thanks for sharing and congratulations. I recently record a mature 8pt I got Friday scored 120-125 then last yr I got a 140 last yr. Great you given thanks.
Awesome hunt, it reminded me of a hunt i had that i took my biggest buck on. Just kept on him, stayed patient and it paid off. Congratulations. Great buck!
What a monster!!That's the stuff dreams are made of. I Honestly, enjoy these videos more than any of the other ones out there. there is just something about watching. Do track down a buck! Do you know where the first shot slowed him down? Congratulations on a Beast!!!
What an awesome buck Jeff, you definitely made the right decision to back out and give him time ,finding the first bed with blood in it was a telltale sign that he was hurting bad.
As someone who grew up hunting Mass in the 70’s and 80’s, I can say without hesitation that, Sir you harvested a once in a lifetime buck. Hats off to you on a beautiful deer and top notch production.
That's so cool tracking & shooting them. Those muzzle loaders with sabots are 200 yd guns. I moved to deep Dixie they're allowed to use black powder cartridge guns 300 Whelen 350 Legends etc. I still use my TC barrel stuffer with sabots. Awesome hunt congrats on that Korker!! 👍🏻🦌🇺🇸
Very fortunate you didn't lose him after jumping him so many times. Snow helped a lot. Generally if you jump him once, you let him bed a couple hours before trying again. Glad you got it and was able to find it. I don't use a muzzleloader anymore. I've never had good blood trails with them. If it weren't for snow, I probably never would have found some deer. Very accurate guns but they just don't seem to make good blood trails even with heart shots. Congratulations on your buck. He's a dandy.
I just love your vids. You’ve really started something great with the “over the shoulder” camera view. Incredible buck and recovery. Congratulations Jeff!
Thanks for sharing, very impressed with the result of tracking. Personally I would have waited longer after you knew you hit him but hey it gets exciting and great job!!👍🏼
Awesome job Jeff! Thanks for taking all the time to bring us along and edit this so well! Also thank your wife for us too! Mine is watching my 2 girls tomorrow so I can hopefully fill my doe tag in the big woods up here in north Idaho. 🦌
Hated to wait this long for it, but man I’ve been checking regular on when it was to be posted. The wait was well worth it with some awesome content. This has inspired me to try tracking one day up in the NE. Well deserved and just an awesome animal and story behind this! Love the new hat. Wears great! 👊🏽
It’s obviously an animals instinct to persist and survive, but this buck was taken by a true woodsman. Something he and you should be proud of! Great deer Jeff!
Thanks so much, there is still so much left for me to learn

Great hunt. Thanks for letting us be a part of it
I truly appreciate the raw emotion you displayed out in the bush. Between the grief, the excitement, and the gratitude, you truly encapsulate a true outdoorsman. I have to find more people like you to appreciate our land with!
All of what you mentioned is important to me
Holy smokes. Props for sitting on this footage for a year! One hell of a mass buck.
Congrats Jeff. No ground shrinkage on that beast. A massive THANK YOU 🙏 for truly keeping the skill of HUNTING alive. Not being someone shooting deer over a pile of corn.
Rock on Jeff 🤘😎
PS. Was this last season or you have snow already, Lucky 😀👍
This was my 2022 buck, no tracking snow here yet :) good luck this season
Great to see this pop up after a long hard day splitting firewood in the rain! GAME ON!!!!
Congrats Jeff! What a buck and much deserved. Being a family man myself, I cherish those days when you can just get on out there and enjoy it! Hoorah!
Congratulations Jeff!! You are definitely one of the best when it comes to self filming successful hunts on the track. It’s absolutely some of the best deer hunting content there is.

This is a dream hunt for me. I’ve only been able to hunt them in the snow twice. Makes tracking so thrilling. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.
What a fantastic video, sir. Absolutely gorgeous buck! Well earned and I’m legitimately tickled for you. Excellent hunting!
What a well deserved monster Buck, the fruits of real labour in that drag out. That initial stalk in and tracking was palpably exciting. Fabulous hunting video.

Always a pleasure watching you in the field! A tremendous outdoorsman and family man!
A true hunter hunting a gorgeous buck pitting his tracking skills against the buck. Congratulations!
Beautiful buck Jeff. Well-deserved with all your hard work and persistence. Another awesome and educational video with a Northeast buck of a lifetime!
Jeff I have been enjoying your videos for quite a few years, always and adventure. Would you consider doing a video on any emergency equipment you might carry with you in your pack such as fire starters, emergency shelters , space blankets etc. I think many might find it interesting and useful!
Absolutely awesome hunt- wish I had enough ground to work with here in N IL to do some major tracking/still hunting. Congrats!!
Great job sir!!! You are a real hunter. As a fellow mountain hunter I can honestly say I learned some stuff from this video. I liked your approach to the changing winds in the final track and the decision to give it a few hours, hard to do in the moment.

Great buck man!! Hats off to your wife for motivating and supporting you with your passion. Congratulations brother 👏 ❤
Now that was exciting! Excellent job Jeff, congratulations. Good luck in the future.
Fantastic buck...great hunt and one of the most authentic hunting videos I have ever seen...took me back to my younger years in the old growth woods of Nova Scotia...sadly mostly gone now!!!

Snow makes even the miat basic of track jobs an incredible experience!!! I love it
I agree, any day in snow is a good day!

@@jeff_doyle Epic hunt!
Without seeing the buck yet, I'm thinkin; bigger than the "next ridge buck" ?? that thing was a toad. Cant wait to see this thing!

Such a great video. I learned a lot. Thank you.
Awesome hunt Jeff! Congratulations on your PB! Thanks for sharing!
I agree about the blood trails, the weight of the bullets just seem to have a different effect compared to a rifle.
Just watched this again, and got just as excited as the first time. What a stud!
Congratulations Jeff! What an awesome buck! Your videos always get me fired up! Thanks
I just love your vids. You’ve really started something great with the “over the shoulder” camera view. Incredible buck and recovery. Congratulations Jeff!
Thanks! Someone nicknamed it “The Doyle View” so I’m going with it :)
I love it, much deserved!
Way to go Jeff!! Buck of a lifetime!! Family and hunting nothing comes close!!!
Great hunt and a slammer buck. Congratulations Jeff on a buck of a lifetime 👏
This is hands down one of the top exciting hunting videos I’ve seen! Absolute beast woodsman!!
So glad this resonated with you. It’s just me filming & editing, so I try to keep it real.
Congrats Jeff. Great buck. All one could hope for. Great hunt. Did yourself proud. Nice going.
Thanks for sharing, very impressed with the result of tracking. Personally I would have waited longer after you knew you hit him but hey it gets exciting and great job!!👍🏼
Incredible buck and awesome video. That will certainly get you fired up for snow!
What a giant buck I remember that storm! What a great hunt and buck congratulations!
WoW! What a Buck Jeff! Congratulations and thank you for sharing it with us! Fresh snow Rules!

Awesome buck Jeff, congratulations, way to stay with him. Been waiting for this video
Awesome job Jeff. My buddies and I track northwest CT and western Mass. this vid got us pumped for the upcoming season!!

Thank you, good luck on your trip. I hope you full your tag
Hated to wait this long for it, but man I’ve been checking regular on when it was to be posted. The wait was well worth it with some awesome content. This has inspired me to try tracking one day up in the NE. Well deserved and just an awesome animal and story behind this! Love the new hat. Wears great! 👊🏽
Thank you! I love my black ash hat too!
I live/hunt in the southeast (Georgia) and enjoy watching you guys track these bucks for miles through snow! Awesome deer, what a tank!
I recognize those woods. Solid work, congratulations!
Absolute tank. Congratulations Jeff
