@@gatordragon6140 In case you haven't been answered yet, he's all about building up a large board of creature tokens to reduce the cost of your instants and sorceries
@@gatordragon6140super late response here, but he does, for lack of better words, the "Izzet thing." The usual play pattern is you play cards that make creature tokens (instants or sorceries or creatures that make tokens when you cast spells, either or), then you put out Magnus and now your big instants and sorceries cost X less depending on how many creature tokens you have. From there you can start playing spells that massively plus you in mana, like Brass's Bounty which you could get to cost 1 mana to make a bunch of treasures, you make more creature tokens to make your spells cost less and less, maybe clone Magnus to double the discount and then usually win with some X spell like one that makes X tokens with haste to attack your opponents to death or spells that deal X damage. Biggest thing he has is he can sorta win out of no where. If opponents aren't keen to it, they might ignore you since you have 3 1/1 goblins and Magnus on fiend, doesn't instantly read as scary until you start making a bunch of mana, drawing up most of your deck, making a thousand tokens etc
So, what I'm getting from these two specials is that kitten's deck is all about applying simple solutions to intricate problems, exploiting his enemie's weaknesses and bringing out the full potential of his monsters through synergy. Considerind his deck was generated from hin mental activity.... Is Kitten actually the greatest commander and strategist to ever walk the galaxy?
My favorite part about this episode is the fact that wagering your friend’s soul with an ancient eldritch deity over a children’s card game is surprisingly common in Yugioh.
I have only just now realized (nearly 3 years later) that Tzeentch was actually using his corny villain plan monologue to lie about his card's effect while hoping that (like me) Kitten and Magnus wouldn't read the card themselves and see it is only 200 damage per lost spell card instead of 300. Which was seemingly done entirely for the lulz since with a 60 card deck he still probably had 40 spell cards in the grave anyway so that he could take out Kitten's 8000 LP.
I like how the magical explosion damage thing bothered you both but not the mst negates it. Obviously it’s a joke that mst negates but still way more egregious rule break
So cute and sad, Magnus was really hoping to talk with his adoptive dad from Prospero, as what Magnus said Prospero was a beautiful place before imperial arrival. A good time for him probably, I think he's one of the saddest Primarchs cause he knew and enjoyed peace and happiness, then the Emperor arrived and war began.
That’s the problem when the manga/show needs to give villains OP abilities, while also giving the heroes ways to counter those abilities in one big, final, dramatic play. Good for storytelling, horrible for balance.
@@Ajehy this isn’t even really true, in fact a good amount of cards from the anime aren’t even accurate to the game. The god cards are awful, and a lot of other cards aren’t played and never were.
Just had the realization... This... this was all a part of the Emperor's plan. He specifically made kitten learn the game, gave him a specifically tailored deck.... all so Kitten could save Magnus. and that includes pesturing the captain general over and over about the life support. Because he knew kitten wouldn't go through with it. It was to just get him to stand up to get him properly decked (ha) out to fight a chaos god! *headdesk* this is just like the feather comment from episodes ago
I highly doubt this was actually the case but from the point of view in-universe, this may have all been planned from the start. There are little references here and there in the early episodes that come true now.
Not only that, Big E played a game against him and forced Kitten to win. So not only did he taught him the game, the Emperor made his Captain General into a player that can beat gods!

"That's...against...the rules!" I wonder if those pauses meant that he already sensed the irony of his statement. Also I love how Magnus acts like a kid with a new best friend with Kitten and a rebellious teen with Tzeentch.
Kitten's deck does a pretty good job of representing the true power of the Imperium: Brotherhood, Self-Sacrifice, and Teamwork. It's like the Imperial Guard in card form.
I chuckled at Magnus playing red blue since his magic card is red blue, and then laughed way more when I realized this predates that crossover by multiple years
Wait a minute, i get it now! The Emperor (in His infinite wisdom) foresaw all of this. Why else would he challenge Kitten for something he can effortlessly force him to do (or get someone else to do it), and to such a specific game? He wanted to give him the knowledge and the experience to best Tzeentch here. Truly the Master of Mankind.
I've got one theory where the reason the Emperor tricked Inquisitor Fyodor Karamazov into thinking he was one of his reborn fragments of his psyche, was so that after being banished into the Warp, where all Thoughts and Emotions become literal manifestations in it, he would BECOME a fragment of the Emperor's psyche. So that while in the Warp, his presence would help The Emperor reclaim the lost fragments of his shattered Soul, so that when he returns to Terra with Leman Russ, The Emperor can regain the lost fragments of his soul and thus restore himself to his physical form again.
Hold the Vox for a second. If this trend of characters playing childrens' card games keeps up, and the Ultramarines manage to find/bring home Jaghatai Khan... I think we all know what needs to happen. CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES!
Anyone else notice Magnus's face and Tzeench's form changes every time they respond to each other during the terrible-step-father bit near the beginning?
Kitten's now got wins against the Emperor and Tzeentch. If he finds and eliminates the Deceiver and Cegorach does that make him the God of Card Games? The Chaos Gods will have to start calling him the Annoy-thema.
Chiscringle Right now he definitely deserves the title King of Games due to beating two God-tier entities with a deck whose only monsters are based on Cats.
Cernumospete MtG's banlist is less intricate. For one thing, cards are rarely unbanned. It's also smaller (yes, even in Legacy and Modern, the two formats most comparable to YGO's Advanced format, which is the origin of the banlist). Also Magic's rules are generally cleaner, IMHO. But that's fairly subjective. Point is, MtG's banlist isn't as intricate as YGO's. But that's really not saying much.
Hn, I, at first, only wanted to use the CoD as example number three, but as you suggested I change that in my initial post. I don't like it when people talk to me about thinks I haven't even spoken about (but another one has), just so your post won't show how dumb it was (by being posted).
Magic's rules are absurdly complicated, but the end result is that a lot of the complexity is obscured and most interactions are intuitive once you understand the basics (beyond stuff like, "why can't my creatures attack my opponent's creatures", which is something that pretty much every new player asks/tries when they're first learning).
kitten is really the king of Paradox-billiards-vostroyan-rulette-fourth dimensional-hypercube-chess-strip poker as he is the only scholar with the knowledge to deduce the effect of pot of greed

I just realized how Kitten's deck draws symbolism from the Imperium as a whole. A single human being is weak. However, united, the Imperium can turn the tide. For the Emperor! The Emperor Protects!
That's why Kitten is Captain General. Custodes are smart, after all. They CHOSE Kitten as their leader, which gives a glimpse of hope to the workings of Democracy, after all.

Khorne's Deck: Nothing but a bunch of big minions that summon more minions and/or draw cards. No spells or traps. Slaanesh's Deck: A bunch of ways to take control of the opponent's minions plus buffing/equip cards. Nurgle's Deck: Pure burn deck that slowly destroys the opponent.

I actually used Magical Explosion as a signature card in my deck in Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, so I kind of noticed that.

OverLordRiper That's an interesting theory.

Tzeentch's Deck: A combination of a bunch of cards to win as quickly as possible, using mostly extremely powerful spells and traps.
My idea for the others...
Has some huge walls to prevent damage.
Malal's Deck: It mills itself to death as quickly as possible.
I have a feeling leman russ would use x sabers
Isha card:- A lot of Eldar Harlequin and it's unused magic cards :P
The main players of the card game are the Emperor, Tzeentch, the Deceiver, and Cegorach.
Khornes deck shouldnt be Superheavy samurai right ? Slanesh deck can use stuff like idk Vailons Artifacs ? Nurgles deck well i agree. As for the last one Lightswarn probably.
Do u guys think custodians should have Ojamas ?
9:24 love that it took him a second to realize that “all it took was a SINGLE card to disable all of that planning” to come to the conclusion that he did that with the webway while completely destroying the emperors plans
- man am I late to realize this
Both times rescue cat died, my heart broke a million times:(
An Imperial Fist this is the first comment I’ve seen about the rescue cat, my heart aches from such a loss
"He will always be remembered"
Man, I salute every time rescue cat gets sacrificed :(
Man I dont want to sound like a heartless asshole, but thats the reason why Rescue cat is good in the real game (the diference being that its effect can only be use once per turn, and when you summon the 2 level 3 o lower beast-type monsters they got their effects negated)
Catmeat, no!!!!
Now Kitten owns Magnus's soul. He signed up for it, now it's even more hilarious! Good luck to them on finding a good game to play.
Thanks for the show, Bruva, it was awesome!
lumberluc if you think about it kitten could be Magnus's forth dad now
Here's an interesting question: Who's older? Kitten or Magnus?
did you notice that Kitten's call of duty said halo on it? That had a picture of battlefield
Its strange becouse kitten has signed a contract of presumably "obiedience" to magnus, and now he owns his soul. Still a better love story than twilight.
I was about to say that. Kitten owns Magnus's soul, yet Kitten has signed a contract to where he has to obey Magnus no matter what, oh the possible shenanigans lol
So his nickname is kitten and his deck is full of cats. That is so Yu-Gi-Oh it hurts.
Yu-Gi-Oh-No
Yu-Gi-Oh-Dear
13:28 For anyone who wants a button for Kitten saying "What are rules really though?"
Or a shirt.
13:31 *AN INTERESTING QUESTION ASSHOLE!*
First he got defeated by a little girl, then by a fully-grown superadult playing a kids game.
Let that sink in.
Tzeentch got beaten by a little girl? What?
Context please.
@@WarmLusamine in the lore, a little girl with her dog managed to outsmart Tzeetch and enter his Labyrinth.
@@juliovictormanuelschaeffer8370 I love that
@@surimonizarro9791 so much for being master of fate.
@@juliovictormanuelschaeffer8370 huh…. Where in the lore does this happen out of curiosity? Just wondering so I can read this delicious piece of lore myself.
"The Nova Cannon awaits you after this"
I wonder if Magnus knows that ship is a Transport...?
- Angry Armada Imperialis noises-
Maybe it's just the cruel part of me, but I kinda want Emps to see Magnus' shadow when he returns to the palace and initially mistake him for Sanguinius reborn only to realize the truth when Magnus steps in the light. Emps sobs would be epically tragic.
Nick Craig That I can imagine happening!
Emp: My… my baby *boi* has come back!
Magnus: Aww I missed you too father
Emp: Oh… it’s just you…
@@Abdega my baby *hawk* boy
@@Abdega Wow, compared to this, the Chicken-puns were gentle ribbing.
I love the fact that this episode is not just a special but actual TTS canon
Magnus the Red is even redder than usual
More redder than those Khornate Knights
Even more red than the fastest Orkz warbuggy
dad is that REALLY YOU
I thought Mars was Red before this
Shh, #12241337, No one must know of them.
“I can’t wait to speak with luigi himself.”
“The Nova Cannon awaits you after this...”
Kitten is best boi.
Hey Bruva, I just wanna say. This is probably the best UA-cam series I've ever seen. I've spent a couple weeks watching the whole thing and it's just... Spectacular. I knew NOTHING about WH40k. NOTHING AT ALL. I knew there were Space Marines and Zerg stuff. That's it.
And yet, this has been so amazingly enjoyable. Every little thing is so exciting. I'm so excited to see the lose ends all get tied up (Hopefully). Like I have no idea who the guy with dual pistols is but he seems devious... And there's a bunch of other shit I don't understand.
AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, THIS SHIT IS HILARIOUS. Like, not only am I completely enthralled in this world... I'm laughing my ass off constantly. I am going to try my best to get more friends to watch this so I can just TALK to people about it. Because I love it so much.
Thank you so god damn much Bruva and everyone who works on this.
Corsair Joshua I learned most of my lord from this series

The dual pistol man is named Cypher.
The Zerg? That’s Starcraft
