Re "App Analysis" switch, it seems thats the switch to turn on Deep Packet Analysis (DPI). Thats why you see in greater detail which traffic are being generated by the different clients. Great vid btw.
Great videos! Thanks! U seem to know ur stuff, so it would be a cool video if you could make some vids where u demonstrate how to maximize certain functions of the router. Like whats the subnet for? Whats that MAC adress for? Etc.
Hey Vince, Can you go into the SysLog section? I am interested in getting a new router, but I want to be able to send out the syslogs for data analysis/trends/etc.
Hmm... I just bought this router and for some reason my control panel does not look quite the same as the one in the video. Example: my does not have "Adaptive QoS", "AIProtection" etc. My router is set for "AP Mode" and the firmware is "3.0.0.4.378_9313" and I am using an iMac. Can anyone please let me know if this is because of the latest update or do I need to download another control panel from somewhere? Thanks!
Hi Vince I wanted to know if you were getting those speeds on Wi-Fi or Ethernet ? Since i've bought AC-68U i have had slow speeds on my 2.4GHZ channel.I am on a 100mb connection but i am only getting 40mbps download using Wi-Fi.Any Suggestions
auto logout: 999 . while it says you can enter 0 to disable :D. don't think you can set priorities for adaptive qos when you setup regular qos? for best speed it's best to leave qos off? except when you are with many people and devices. and upnp should best be off for security reasons. and to prevent issues I believe. at least in the past it gave a lot of issues with it on at different routers. I'm getting this one tomorrow. for a crowded city apartment. hope it does well. will it lose much performance when it's in a thin wooden closet?
i just bought this router, i have Gigabit fiber internet but my wifi speeds are only in the 20 to 50 megabit range. did you change any of the default setting to get your full speed?
Did you try the dual WAN giga port if it works with two internet lines? Also can i turn off wifi cuz i only wanna use the dual WAN and i have another router to handel wireless.
You missed the VPN Client tab on the VPN page, can you tell me what protocols it supports as a 'Client' thanks the 68U does not support IPSec as a Client
im thinking of getting this router as im on a fairly good connection bearing in m ind im in the UK i get 100mbs down and usualy 15 up but the router my ISP gave me sucks for everything.
HyperSniper I take it you where on the one 'm on just now? If so did you notice a big difference overall with connections and i take it you online game or stream? I'm like you i'm contemplating getting this and putting the superhub 2 in modem mode. I have an android tv box which is constant buffering for me even though it cant be due to speed, so has to be the router. thx for the info m8.
I ended up not buying this one but buying one from eBay i'll link it below but yes i did notice a lot of improvement with the super hub as a modem as i have my PC wired into that then the new router handles all the WiFi and other wired devices on my network i find its so much so much better plus with the new router i get a lot more functions like QOS controls so i can limit the amount of bandwidth a device can use before it gets throttled which is very handy. I would also recommend setting up a VPN tunnel on the router you get as it make buffering and loading times decrease or disapear when i did it threes also much less lag when playing online games bearing in mind i play on PC i never get a ping over 200 even on servers from Spain for example. Hope This Helps. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281413660585
If you´re getting this router, then you should need to buy a Cooling Pad. Is very useful and keeps your router cool with low temps and fresh air to keep inside. I got an ASUS DSL-N55U ANNEX A (ADSL2+) which is very similar to the RT´s models such us UI and the design of the router. Remember, every router that you see, whatever brand you get, it always gets HOT! Don´t expect to all routers have a good heatsink. Maybe they will improve it in the next generations. Will see it... :D
I appreciate your efforts in providing information on this product, but your rambling as your figuring this stuff out as you go along is a bit disconcerting. I'm sure if you test the software and program features before you make another product video would be greatly appreciated. Bravo for your efforts, but for product details and functionality, let someone else do the presentation. I went to sleep. All due respect, great effort

Excellent. Thanks for sharing.
Wow a gig downspeed thats nuts, im in the uk and im on 160 down 12 up and thats the uk highest
your speed will be reduced a bit once u turned on the QoS because it will disable ur NAT acceleration

I am having issues with MS VPN connectivity and getting an error 809. Is the NAT acceleration causing this?

Caveat emptor: This router does not seem to support port redirection.

Yeah I'm on Virgin Media I'm on the 152 mb/s package now, I get 130mb/s down and around 12 mb/s upload which is OK but would love more upload speed

Your going to return it because it gets warm.lol?
Caesar Cornelius Did I mention that I wanted to returned it?! Was referring to all brands, not only ASUS. Read carefully, buddy.
