Whenever Derek is using only one foot on the bassdrum that means he is usually played a "traditional single foot blast" meaning that his bassdrum and snare are alternating..whenever he has his right hand playing the snare and hes playing the bassdrums with two feet he is playing a "bomb blast"

Ah thanks for clearing that up. i knew he said "hosing" on the forum, I just didn't know what he meant by it. But I always thought it was weird that I could clearly hear the trigger and he was still pissed for some reason ;)

He was pissed off that his monitor blew out. You can hear at 0:22 and 0:27 that his triggers sounded like ass because the monitor broke

The 2 "untrigged" that you're talking about are not for bassdrum sounds. The one on the right side of his rightbassdrum is for his aux-hihat. The one to the left of his hihat is for a ribboncrasher.

The only Yamaha Pedals you see is his main hihat, all of the other pedals are Axis except for his aux-hithat which is a DW5000 cable hat.
If it makes you happy, he has always used Yamaha stands until recently.

nah, its most likely in the 255-265 area since Derek was pissed and REALLY pushed the speed.

@Vulnus777 dont quote me because if annihlator is exact with what derek said then im totally wrong but from what ive learned to move that fast and play that low its more fingers then anything but because his arm barley moves and same thing with his wrist its mainly fingers (just saying what i see)

The point i was trying to make was that Tim never had to play "Powers that Be." But I guess you mean that the songs on KoaK are faster..which they are, but that fact alone does not make them better, and that fact alone isn't what makes Derek a better drummer ;p

Derek IS a REAL drummer and if you want to hear another REAL drummer listen to Buddy Rich...as far as Jazz goes he was the king.

I believe his PA was powering down and he was getting pissed because the triggers stopped working. And in a death metal show, if you can't hear the triggers, and the guitarists cant either. Then the song will sound like shit.
Mostly wrists, maybe a little bit of fingers. But Derek himself says he blasts using his arm..how I have noidea though haha.
It's a different snare drum for a different sound.

And he definitely doesn't need to preach to fans of Derek Roddy about listening to other drummers and other genres of music. Since fans of Roddy are usually some of the most openminded drummers there are.

i think derek uses his whole arm from elbow to wrist and not fingers almost at all. that type of technique will get you tired very fast and thats why derek is quite sloppy at the end of this video. of course the tempo is much faster than on the album but anyway.
look how much faster he does it compared to tim yeung.
if you can play faster you're abviously got more skills then if you play it slow. like I can play a blastbeat but not that fast. I am not that good then.
His triggers started to "hose" up, meaning they become very static-y and sound like shit. I believe this is their last song so he just plays with them fucked up.

NON can free style solo as long as he can like he did at NAMM.
NON! Explain and teach such as him, and NON can compare to how he syncs with hate eternal.
Derek Roddy proves again and again that he is the best, over and fucking over.
