  • This video explores the oil and gas discoveries in South Africa. TotalEnergies previously discovered two huge gas fields off the South African coast in 2019 and 2020. Its current area of interest covers 10,000km and is located between Cape Town and Cape Agulhas, in water depths between 700 metres and 3,200 metres and Kinetiko Energy, an Australian gas company also discovered gas in the Mpumalanga province. We explore how South Africa plans to balance unemployment, just energy transition, load shedding, and economic prospects of this discovery.

      They were trying to hide the oil from South Africans. That's what they did in Uganda.
      Years later, the Uganda's sent their own people for training abroad.

The nearest they came in the past was with the "Oil from Coal" plants at Sasolburg I believe, although nowhere near enough to make the country self sufficient. Now, with the advances of modern technology, the longed for valued resource has been discovered in seemingly viable quantities. Let's be realistic 50/50 would be high in the first years.
      Let's just make an audit and case study before signing anything, this is a very complex issue, this is how S.A could make money 💰
      All oil service companies should be registered and pay taxes in SOUTH AFRICA, 50% of the project board Officials should be SOUTH AFRICANS, No operation equipment should be bought abroad if it is available on South African Market.
      And SOUTH AFRICA should never sign any agreement that gives away more than 60% to the so-called INVESTORS.
      -This is how it's done in NORWAY, OIL SERVICE SECTOR created a lot of BILLIONAIRES here, it shall do the same for S.A

    Lets hope that we can start the process of mining and extracting without any ANC government corruption. Because if it all runs smoothly the unemployment situation will defiantly change for the better and in turn that makes a better more productive South Africa. We need to find jobs for our people not just a place to sit and do nothing productive, so that government can say they have provided jobs, but lucrative and beneficial jobs for both individual employee and country as a whole. That is the ultimate solution for South Africa.

    • @Camdouin
      @Camdouin 7 місяців тому

      There was a time when we had to take physical science and maths, we did not have a choice. But slowly as the education system started failing in South Africa so did the standards of criteria needed to pass. You see its easier to pass masses of pupils on poor subjects than to actually spend time and effort on subjects that will truly benefit them in the long run. Remember most first world countries have extremely good education systems and they are well supported by the government of that specific country. We simply do not have anything like that. So yes I absolutely agree with you all. Anyway it is what it is and that's not going to change with the ruling party at the moment.
