Even in purely geological terms, I find many of these figure hard to believe. Could it be that "oil reserve" statistics are subject to political and commercial manipulation? (Hard to believe they aren't). They are also parenthesised by the scientific meaning of "oil". Not all oil is the same, some a lot more valuable than others and some a lot more accessible than others.
America lies about ours. Google the definition for “Confirmed Oil Reserves.” According to the definition there has to be a well pumping from a deposit for the amount in that deposit to be counted amongst our reserves, and yet we’ve been doing “exploratory” mining since the 1950s where the oil lease granted by the government will allow a company to go down to the necessary depth, bring up enough oil to have made drilling the well economically feasible and profitable, and then the company has to cap it off after a certain number of gallons have been pulled from it and go start another well…. Once that well is capped that deposit no longer contributes to our confirmed oil reserves, the government has been lying and playing a chess game to keep Americans in the dark and poor (were the government to allow more drilling they could also use it to pay off our national debt, pay each American citizen a portion of the profits [kuwait gives their male citizens about $60,000 per year as their portion of the profits] and Americans would all have more money and thus have more options)…. But congress uses the power to make their buddies rich and then retire to get consulting jobs working for those buddies, consulting jobs being a euphemism for the bribe today for yesterday’s corruption……. In reality The United States has at least 6 times the oil that is known to be reachable in the Middle East….. If you don’t believe me, then start doing some research, it shouldn’t take long for you to find out we have a lot more than they claim. Meanwhile half of our people have been duped into believing we’ll run out of petroleum soon and have to invest in other technologies… what a joke. We should always be researching other technologies, but there is no need to be converting over to electric, it’s a shell game to deprive the people of power and riches….

Which country in America are you referring to?
With the animation of actual height by barrel
Last time US consume 10-mil bpd was in late 1950s, today oil consumption in the US is around 20-mil bpd.
USA 20-mil bpd or Yearly Gallon Per Capita 940
China 12.5-mil bpd or Yearly Gallon Per Capita 138
India 4.5-mil bpd or Yearly Gallon Per Capita 51
Japan 4.1-mil bpd or Yearly Gallon Per Capita 481
Saudi Arabia 3.5 mil bpd or Yearly Gallon Per Capita 1,560

Fascinating. I suppose these are "proven reserves," a number that changes as oil is pumped and more is found. Also, the price of oil is variable; whatever these numbers, they will daily change. Also, the quality of oil in each case, whether "heavy" or "Light," will be individually subject to market fluctuations. But a fascinating display, as many of these are. Where is this data from?
If only Canada would develope its oil reserves to its fullest than we could be self sufficient in oil
nafta destroyed that !
Sudan is in the list however South Sudan is an independent Nation that has its own Oil Reserves however it has not been listed hint is South Sudan uses Sudan pipeline to transport oil to the international market, another hint is Sudan oil to South Sudan in comparison, South has the oil and North has the equipment so at least the creator combined the two sisterly Nation still combined Oil reserves would be higher let alone South Sudan.

@@Rick_Sanchez_C137_ even the whole world reserves would not pay american national debts, you should do more research about how economics works, about demand and about The difference between national debt and The real US debt in The long run, something like 300 trillion dollars if The US don't spend a cent, what Will never happen.
As Somali it makes me feel sad our country is beyond rich we are strategically located good place we have oil and gas which hasn’t explored yet we have the longest coastline in Africa and Middle East 3.7 hectares of farming land small population of 30,000,000 but we are facing a lot of challenges since 1991 32 years Somalia 🇸🇴 is famous pirates, famine and terrorist activities this is all created by west powers and rich 7 sisters oil companies
The USA wants to keep you poor my friend -you and the remainder of Africa.
USA is a bully and the sooner it has its nose bloodied and is put in it’s box the sooner the world can focus on real issues.
Sure, blame it one the west. It would be harder to take personal responsibility for your own failures.
Trying looking in the mirror for real reason. Somalia problems are of its own creation, nobody is forcing them to kill each other.
