Whirlwind Bardstown Kentucky Tour! The Bourbon Capital of the World!

- Join me as I visit Bardstown, Kentucky with friends, Scott Bartlett and Tracy Sharrits as well as another couple. Located in the heart of the Bluegrass State, Bardstown is a beautiful, quaint small town. In fact, during our short visit, it was easy to see why Rand McNally and USA Today declared Bardstown the Most Beautiful Small Town in America.
Settled in 1780, Bardstown is Kentucky’s second-oldest city. The stagecoach stop that was built in 1779 still stands today as a tavern, restaurant, and bed & breakfast. Bardstown is now known as the Bourbon Capital of the World! There are nine bourbon distilleries located within 16 miles of downtown Bardstown. We visit Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History and end our evening with a carriage ride through the quiet town.

Bardstown is so quaint. Loved all the history. The old bottles at the whisky museum were awesome. Great tour. Cheers.
Thanks Helga! I’ve vlogged a more detailed video of the Whiskey Museum as well as the Anti Saloon League in Ohio, so it’s interesting seeing the different attitudes toward alcohol.
Very interesting. It says John Fitch invented the steamboat. I thought it was Robert Fulton. Thanks for taking us along for a very enjoyable tour.

Looks like this was an ab fab trip...I always enjoy seeing friends having a good time😍 I really liked that old cemetary, and the graves that were what you said was a family plot, overgrown, ivy was usual plant that was carved into head stones, or planted in plot, to have evergreen growing to signify immortality, everlasting love, or eternal friendship😇 I liked all of the spirits🥃 Looks like that was really a neat town....Those horses were absolute beauty🐎 Thanks for the look around such a historic town🐾🐾🦊🐺
Thanks for the thoughtful comments foxy wolf.

Great video Cashew. Good day with good friends. Beautiful town with interesting places.
Did Chris take over Scott's shower as well?
Thanks bb bb. No, Chris stayed out of the shower this time.
Loved this video. We drive by Bardstown often and never thought to stop and check it out. Definately have to now. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Larry.
Bardstown is awsome your close to the civil war museum and my old Kentucky home and down the road is battle of perryville
Thanks for the information Justin. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m down there again.
In June 1997 my husband and I traveled through Kentucky for our Honeymoon. Bardstown was one of our stops. We stayed at an old motel and ate at a restaurant next to it that was a historic building. Wish I could remember the name of it. 🤔☹ Thanks again for Sharing!🤗
Thanks for watching Ann Mac.
I believe you ate at Kurtz restaurant and My old Ky Home Motel. If so, Both are getting a new life from new owners.
Nice video, well done. A delightful mix of History and friends hanging out enjoying time together. I visited Bardstown a long time ago and I went to see an outdoor performance of the Stephen Foster Story and toured My Old Kentucky Home.
Thanks for watching Kentucky Girl. There’s a lot to do in Bardstown.
It's been years since I was in Bardstown. Nice to revisit thru your video the places I toured. Thank you!
Thanks for watching 1 Ringy Dingy. I filmed a more detailed video of the Whiskey Museum if you’d like to see it.
@@CashewPaul Sure
@@CashewPaul I went to your playlist and watched your Whiskey Museum video. "Liked" it. Have you taken Cincinnati's Underground tour?
Thanks 1 Ringy Dingy! No, I’ve not done that yet.
P.S. I thought Scott Bartlett's hiss shirt was really cute.
My family owned the hotel from 1885 until about 1913. Talbotts. My grandfather looked over the balcony to watch a hanging in the courtyard behind the jail. His mom found him and told him to say 20 hail Marys and never do such a thing again.
Thanks for watching Mark.
@@CashewPaul it's my family legacy. I appreciated the video.
What a wonderful tour! Thank you Cashew for sharing this history lesson with me. Keep up the great work. 🐈
Thanks for the kind words Teresa. I really appreciate it.
@@CashewPaul They're true Cashew. I loved this tour video. 😊
I almost cried when the sad, dramatic music played and Chris and Mindy kissed, then i laughed when I saw George Takei. 😂 I couldn't tell you had any technical difficulties, great editing!
Thanks Michael. I appreciate the compliment.
I got misty too Michael! Glad George saved the day 🤣
I just met up with Chris, Tracy and Scott this morning at the meetup. You were the only one missing.
Thanks for watching Mary. Maybe I’ll see you next time.
Mary it was a pleasure finally meeting you. We went over to the cat house afterwards and picked up one of your creations.
Thanks so much, Scott!
Horse drawn carriages are very controversial. The horses stand for hours in the summer in hot, sweltering weather, have to travel among and behind automotibles and inhale all the exhaust. They should be banned and let the horses enjoy a better life.
I agree Arleen. I was hesitant to do it.
