Please... Don't change the way you do your videos. Love your method and style. It feels like I'm on your plot walking around with you, like I'm visiting. And I can think alongside you. Thank you 😊
It's already taking off so much pressure. Plus it's a side-project. Once the beds are in & all planted up.. everything else will be done in time. But it's me, who am I kidding! Haha
Love the idea of a potting shed! I think they are so great! So glad you kept the greenhouse. Looking forward to see your fruit area! A lot to do but it is a fantastic new plot! You were so right to get it! 😘🌸💕
Haha you anticipated we’d agree you went into the old shed. Everything is growing beautifully isn’t it. Fig and olive is flourishing and the new Danny’s garden is coming on in leaps and bounds. Meanwhile here in Oz I’ve got the fire roaring 😊
Haha! I just knew you'd all say yes. Haha! I'm really pleased with the Fig & Olive plot.. so far! It must be funny for you to watch us all getting ready to plant while you're tucked up haha
@TheGrowUpChannel nup not funny lol. This is the norm for us. Mid year is cold and Christmas is hot . It's all us locals know! 😄 Have an awesome week...
I love that you've taken on this new plot. Honestly, there's nothing I love more than to see some weed infested piece of land flourish and transform and become gorgeous with flowers, fruit and veggies. Here in Canada we have a rather short growing season (my rather small garden was a disaster this year), so I'll live vicariously through you and your adventures.
I love how you have taken on the new plot. It makes sense what and why you are doing it. Don’t doubt yourself, you are making the best decisions. Watching from North Carolina!😊
Your plot is looking beautiful and the thing about you, you sit back and plan out your plot which is great love it 💕🌷yes you could give a plot tour once a month 👍
Why thank you. There I'd always some planning involved in my gardening. I can't just wing it. We are battled enough with weather and pests.. winging the garden on top is asking for trouble haha
FYI - The direction things rotate is a result of the Coriolis force/effect. However, it only works on very large objects like hurricanes and cyclones. Despite what many repeat, it does not work on beans or toilet water. That's a myth. BTW - I agree that you've made the best decision regarding your plots. And, yes, you did explain it properly on your previous video. Looking forward to seeing your progress. All the best.
Hi Danny, what a fantastic video, how, do you not just stare at that fantastic view of those mountains, stunning. 😊 Livingston Daisys, what a blast from the past, as a child they were my favourite 😍 ❤️
Hi Danny, I do think this season has been difficult for all us growers. I have put in Basil plants amongst my tomatoes in the polytunnel, all munched, yet the bed next door, to it are flourishing 🙄 my outdoor sunflowers have been munched another sowing half munched & the others are not looking good. Sweetpeas, all munched, second sowing one has survived, just crazy! Never had such an issue. Your new plot is looking organised. Potatoes are looking very good, my shed was the same when I took on my plot, massive job as it was covered with Ivy, what a nightmare but, we got it done & now have a new shed. Lots of jobs to do on your new plot. I don't think you need to do a monthly plot tour, just carry on with what you do, it's perfect. Plot tour can be done as and when you feel it's necessary 😊 Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
I love your new plot and the shed looks like it was once something to be proud of. A lot of effort went into it and it would be nice to use some of it.
Of course we all thought you should go in the shed! As if you needed to ask 😂 You have so much to do for that area but it sounds like a project you’re going to enjoy getting your teeth in to. Everyone loves a project! Great to see so much in the ground already on the new plot. It’s going to look so good. I think the move was definitely a no brainer. 100% the right thing to do. Thanks for the mention. Hope the hollyhocks do well for you. Planted mine out this last week. I enjoyed the plot tour and plans for the plots. It’s nice to see where everything is and how things are doing. 😊
Haha of course you all wanted me to go in the shed lol! Thanks again for the hollyhocks. They'll look lovely when I find a place for all the plants 🤣🤣 thanks again clare. 😊
Brilliant progress Danny. The new plot is really taking shape. Wish I had done some swede but forgot and don’t really have space now. Ho hum. Take care. Mags
As usual, you surprise all of us with how you soldier on and get things done. Thanks for giving us a peep into your adventurous, plant loving soul! I bet there are times when you get gardening ideas when you lay your head down to sleep, making it hard to get your zzzzz's. Take care Danny!
Oh wow the flowers are all looking amazing. Ours seems so behind but hopefully they will catch up soon as it warms up and stops raining 🌧️. Yes thank goodness for spares 😂. Great update Benny have a marvellous week, Jackie 🌧️🌧️🇨🇦
Hi Danny, Just catching up with you now! 🤦♀️Who wouldn't want two plots side by side...perfect for you. So looking forward to seeing the plots gradually blend into one. Have a fabulous weekend Take care, Annie 🐞 🐝 🌱
Hey Annie! It's been such a weight off my shoulders. I don't regret it one bit. Having the ability to just cross the path and continue with jobs. A god send! Thanks for watching. Danny 🌱
I've been away for a while, and my goodness, you have been busy ! Everything looks lovely. I was rather confused re. Plots. Can't believe you got another one.
New plot is looking fab, like a grand old adventure. Makes perfect sense having it nearby, and I never had any bother distinguishing between the two plots by name, and thought what you had been describing in the previous episode was perfectly clear. Totally agree with you about the spares. I’m learning that lesson too. I’ve had *dreadful* problems with compost this year, so I’ve been splitting my 🍅 between four brands, only to discover they only like one of them 😱 Once I get the rest out of all the crappy stuff they start to improve after a week or two though 😮💨 But I was running short there for a while, and have re-sown more bush cherry types as 3/4 of mine still look a bit rubbish and stunted. Knowing I was having compost troubles I sowed two trays of 🌽 (one compost brand did a fair bit better than the other here too), and when it came time to plant them out I ended up with four spare plants. Well, let’s just say I had to use three of them as emergency replacements when the originals failed to take to their new spot. I just planted the fourth out yesterday, thinking that it didn’t look like I needed it any longer. Spares. Yeah. But I can’t just chuck them away, I have to find them a spot. However, that tray of spare 🍅 I’ve got growing on, I have no idea where to put them! A problem for another day, and that day is not this day… 😊
Thank you for that 😊 yes I thought I'd always explained the plots well. Oh I know too well about plants needed to he replaced. I sowed 24 corn. I have 8!!!! I prefer rows of 3. Never mind! haha we live and learn don't we! I've never had issues with the compost I use. Thankfully!! Goodluck finding homes for the Tom's! You'll do it haa
First of all, I understood your plans perfectly, you explained it just right. Weird people didn't. Also, I was glad to see you go in the shed, that's the first thing I would have done. Hahah. Your plants are so healthy, everything is looking so good.
Thank you Karen! Haha I thought I explained it well 😂 it's just next door. I'll try again next week 😂 yes the shed had to be explored didn't it! Imagine it fell on me while filming 😂😂😂😂
Hey Danny. Another great video. I love your enthusiasm for the new plot. Please don't overdo it though. You have a lot going on jn your life atm. Take care. Haydn
Loved the plot tour, I’m amazed how much you’ve got done on the new plot already, it looks like you’ve had it for ages. Glad you’re taking that shed down, I think it’s only being held up by the brambles and bindweed 😂 Look forward to see what you replace it with.
Thank you Nicki. I probably wouldn't have done as much as I have tbh. I do graft on my plots though... but I think the pressure of the crops needing to go out on the new plot pushed me on. The shed, I agree is hanging on by a thread haha!
It's going to look great Danny, so much potential and so many decisions 😂 Your new beds look lovely, those swedes are so big compared to mine 😂 Take care
I always enjoy your plot tours danny, love to see how everything is coming on... plus I can gage weather my veg is doing well or not lol.... got all my tomato's planted over the last two weeks YAY. Both of the plots are looking great danny. I'm looking forward to your potting shed project as I also want to build one so I can free up some space in the greenhouse new year. I will have to do a video tour soon as my garden has changed so much since the beginning of the year I have been so busy on my tropical style kitchen garden. Dig.Plant.Repeat. Take care for now
I just gave all my extra flats to a community garden. Good point to hold some back, but I plant two large gardens and I couldn’t hold that many back as they needed to get planted or wasted as I have no more room, nor do I need more. Next year I will cut back a bit as last year was a test of tomatoes and this year peppers and more tomatoes. I need to gauge how much we need for preserving also. Interesting fact about climbing bean direction. I don’t recall growing turnips and I don’t see many that popped up. We had 5” of rain last week and it was dry yesterday so I was pumping out collection tanks and it rained today 😅. The peppers were already looking like green and some fish emulsion is in order, but now they are soaked again 🙄. At least we are out of the severe drought we’ve been in. And yes, the heat is on and it’s jungle time. Everything looks great at Fig & Olive Jr.😅. The shed is shot-maybe if that area has great views a sitting area of some kind. I use a paint on brush killer for bindweed, black walnut and buckthorn. I garden organically best I can and don’t want to spend time constantly taking out the same invasives-once and done.
Giving away your plants is always lovely. I'm forever giving away plants and flowers haha. Just be careful you don't give it all away and then have nothing to add when yours are eaten. 5 inches of rain! Wow! Sounds like you've got all your jobs sorted. Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel well I have a 7’ high wire fence surrounded at the bottom with poultry wire so nothing better eat them😂. It was freak freeze last year on 5/25. Amazing it didn’t hit the flats in front of GH. Just had a bite to eat and need to plow as many flowers in as possible as more rain Monday into Tuesday.
Dany,as much as you had your rib issue, with a little help of friends, havent you dont a super job. Place is looking superb.i think its a way better plan having the plot across from you, makes perfect sense. The chickens will enjoy you being closer ,all the time you are up at the plot. Youve done a great idea. That water feature worked out a trat, love it. Danny put some cut onions in the tunnel, slugs dint lie them. Thanks for a great tour.
All looking great Danny ❤ Love the ordinary and the extraordinary plants. Herb bed coming along nicely. King Tut peas, that's an interesting story. Greenhouse will be useful for you and extra garden centre growing space 👍😄 That's so brave going in the shed. I love it, it has character, be great if you can patch it up and save it. Thanks for the shout out, be great more viewers joining in with the sunflower 🌻 challenge. Yours coming along and going to look beautiful 😍
You are amazing Danny and I adore your channel!! I loved the tour of the new plot and to hear your ideas on what’s going to happen! Can’t wait to watch the new plot transform. Ignore the silly folks!
Aww thanks jo! That's lovely to read. I've been working like a trooper again today! 9am-6pm! I'll be settled when all the beds are made and the crops are all out. Thanks again. Danny 🌱
Hi Danny everything is looking good ,taking on a plot nearer makes sense to me. After taking on another plot recently I really didn’t think through how exhausting it is moving compost, tools etc if it’s not close to your old one. I’ll look forward to watching the changes , it’s always a joy watching what you are doing thank you Danny, Tracy 😊
The plot looks mighty fine Danny and all those flowers will help attract polinators. My parsnips failed and I used 3 packets of seeds And only got 4 parsnips. The new plot could be called Danny's Digs 😁 or the Mountain view garden.
I took over a plot many years ago riddled with mare's tail. I weed wanded it religiously every week, whilst it was actively growing, as the flame can get through the silicone coating. During winter, when the beds were empty, I covered them with manure (apart from the root beds) and then covered them in black plastic, to exclude light and weaken the roots. The mare's tail gave up the ghost eventually and I haven't seen any for years.
Loved the plot tour Danny, we love seeing your plans come to life. I’ve got to say I held my breath when you went into the old shed lol, in Queensland you could be surprised by red back spiders and brown snakes (deadly). Loving all the plans Danny, exciting times ahead ♥️
HAHA! I could have been walking into a snake pit and I was just giggling about it. I am so silly 😂😂 or even a rats nest! The previous plotholder refused to go near it. He pretended it wasnt there 😂😂
@@TheGrowUpChannel 🤣🤣🤣sometimes we have to be brave hey 🤣🤣🤣. A pond and seating area down there is my vote 🤗, it’s so nice having the plots so close. I believe it’ll take some of your stress away with some luck.
Hi Danny ☺. Nothing to do with gardening, but I do like the more natural distingu distinguished looking beard! Beats the Disney pirate one lol 😆. Sending love, light and new plot blessings ☘🌿🌱🍃 xx
Looking fab Danny. Loving the idea for the new shed. Just remember it all takes time. Just a small observation with your pond , the cables that go from your header tank really shout out in the black ness of the liner and water. How about putting a split black pipe over the top of them to disguise them more. Just a thought. Keep doing what you’re doing. Do love a plot tour But remember theres only a set numbers of hours in a day, week etc.
I absolutely love your style of filming and videos. But I won't lie, I allllways love an allotment tour. So don't change your videos but maybe once every few months you could add a tour style video or part of a video? I bet those videos would do well!
Google says catch mare's tail before it releases spores, remove top growth diligently but it will take years and otherwise it appears that herbicide is the method (which you may not want to do if you are only organic). Great progress on your new plot!
Thank you sylvie. Luckily I don't have any on my 2 plots. But helpful for other viewers to read. Dreadful plant to keep at bay. Thanks for watching! Danny 🌱
Great update once again Danny, I'm shattered just watching lol , seriously think you have some serious projects to work going forward and I am looking forward to seeing your progress 👍
Is there anyway you could do a map of your new plots? 👣 loved watching this Danny, exciting times ahead, can't wait to see what you do with your new space ❤
I love a plot tour and a nosey around someone's garden as most of my inspiration comes from a look around. I love the new plot and that shed has some great features but it does not look safe at all. The new potting shed will look great with the bifold doors and if you are patient enough you will get the bits for free on marketplace. Fab video Danny and keep up the hard work
You are making brilliant progress on the new plot and I fully understand why you have taken it on, it makes so much sense. As for the shed I was screaming at you, "Don't go in there the shed monster will get you" 😂😂👹. It does look like a brilliant project though, especially after seeing what Jane did to her she'd. I look forward to seeing how things progress on the new plot.
@@TheGrowUpChannel We have been given an extension to raise the rest of the money but they haven't given any length of time so we're all planting and carrying on at the moment, fingers x we can get the money.
Danny the plots look great. Everything is starting to grow at last. Yellow courgettes I definitely agree. You said don’t let me plant more courgettes. Don’t do it Danny 😂😂😂
You cant beat taking on more work LOL i do it all the time, give up a nice plot an take on a shambles just for the challenge. All looking great Mate and the views and subs are amazing mate Alan
Lovely Italian dish to try is courgettes and pancetta (fry with olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano) cook spaghetti place together finish with butter and Parmesan (a recipe from my Italian chef dad) simple but lovely
Glad you survived the trip into the shed eek 😲You are braver than I would be. We have a metal shed and it is nicknamed the spider shed - too many false widows in there. I go in with gloves on or send hubby 🤭 Gosh I love how it both plots are coming along. If you don't get a chance to clear that bramble patch completely this season, think of all the lovely bramble jam and crumbles later in the summer. Free fruit cage haha! I think you show us around on every videos. I feel I know it so well from all your hard work you do taking us along.
Haha thanks Dawn. Oh dear! That doesn't sound like a fun shed at all! Hopefully mine will be a little easier to deal with. No rush for that project haha. Danny 🌱
Great tour Danny! Isn't lovely to be eating sugar snap peas again! I have been thinning out the baby carrots to let the others grow but we got some that was 7inchs/18cm long already! Not bad for a plastic b&q cold frame that is only filled about 10 inches deep! Your F&O plot is looking great Danny. All in good time though, as they say. We have 3 yellow and 2 black beauty this year as that is all that survived to planting out. They are doing well. First time for yellow courgettes but i noticed they have slightly bigger leaves. So far so good and have both male and female flowers at the same time. They seem to be fairing better in the sandpit bed already doing better in than in the containers that i use to use. Last two years in containers didn't do so well, so very pleased to see an improvement! I'm sure that greenhouse will scrub up well. You should ask JB about where he got his glass from! :o) Certainly some treasures with the window frames, archway and maybe some beams? Maybe, you could also save some wood panels to make another plot sign? How about calling it the rustic garden, in honour of the metal composter, filing cabinet and shed? Also means that you are not tied down to what you do or grow in it? I would line that filing cabinet with some empty compost bags or something to stop the rust getting into the soil. Hope you got your tetanus up to date!? I like how it says A1 on the shed wall as you came out! lol Erm... haha We have meres/ horse tail on the veggie side of our garden. I think, it is just time. It has got less of an issue. If i can, i dig down about a foot until it meets the main vine to get it all. They are like little Grinch Christmas trees (Not from Plot 9!) lol Apparently you can make drinking tea from them? They are a mere for sure and just had our first one in the new sandpit bed after we lifted the weed membrane. Definitely less than when we moved here and the area was bare and just weed membrane and shingles. We had bindweed and ivy on the other side coming through the neighbours fence. We pretty much gotten rid of the ivy and again just have the odd little bindweed spears popping up now and then. They trail high in the soil, so are easier to dig out. It's so nice when you trail it back and find a big bindweed root though! Thanks for showing us the loos! lol (and no i am not taking the pee! lol). Cool you have communal wheelbarrows too. I bet that is handy for compost or wood chip deliveries. I bet it felt great for the help sorting the new plot out. Not just for the help but it must help you in terms of motivation in tackling a new plot that you aren't on your own as that can be quite daunting. Those red flowers on the water butt look really nice there. I wonder if you can get gutter baskets that can go around pipes or bend/ make a wire mesh to go around it. Even a hanging basket on the corner with some red fuchsias would bring some colour to the water feature? Great tip re the tulips. We really need to renew our bulbs and was hoping my sister, who lives in the Netherlands could send me a post card with some in spring ;) but they normally only come in stock in autumn. I usually just put our pots in the shade after they are done tbh. They done you well though and great use of a small bed in spring. I like plot tours. It think for the F&O it can be seasonally this year and maybe a monthly one on the new plot? You'll get to look back on the progress you have made on the new plot, plus the more established plot, which has fewer structural updates, so more focused on plant growth in the normal videos, if that makes sense? I think for you, it is more about how much time you have to take to do one, edit and publish. You do you. It's all good. Just make sure to pace yourself and enjoy what you are doing first, i.e. gardening, growing, and DIY. Then think about YT. I still get emails from FB, from when i used to use it. I like the memories part of it and seeing the pictures of the house and garden renovations. I do miss those updates. I still take pictures and videos for the grandparents and my sister but it isn't the same. Was hoping to jet hose the patio and front drive/ car this school holidays but got quite busy. Kinda proud of the summer haircuts. School photos next week! We also have rat tunnels i think in the sprout beds to deal with! Anyway, take care Danny and take it easy! Long season ahead and still healing! It's a journey not a race!
Thank you! Yes it's an on going battle of jobs. Just like yours... buy we get there in the end. Glad the sandpit bed is being used now. Take care. Danny 🌱
Glad you went in the shed I was dying to see what was inside there 😂. The new potting shed is going to look fantastic. Your plots always look beautiful.
The filing cabinet would be perfect for growing carrots on top of the IBC tank and give it a lick of paint and put some roofing fabric inside it and job done.
Love the plot tour, we would enjoy a monthly tour! You've done loads to the new plot, well done 👏🏻 PS thanks for the shout out, you're courgette is bigger than ours 😅
Hey Danny, another great vlog. Re your new bed (to replace the raspberries) what about some perennial veg? Definitely a thing that's finding its time! Love a bit of permaculture!
Hello! You know what! That's made me realise I have perrennial kale's on my other plot I need to bring up! Thank you for that! You can't beat perrennial crops!
I'm new to your channel and I just wanted to say that I enjoy what you are doing. Your plots are so lovely and I wish you all the best on the new plot.
I need to move to wales lol you have green fingers 😍slugs and snails eating everything despite everything I do and I’m doing everything !!! Mind you parsnips looking good !
Haha you'd think I'd have terrible slug issues with all the rain we get. Nope! Hardly any. I swear by using nematodes & the hedgehogs eating the baby slugs 🌱
Exciting! Wow you have some energy! What about building a nice deck for your new shed you're building? The bifold doors can open on to it. You can sit out there with a cuppa or a glass of something cold and admire your hard work. Also another place for a few pots!! 😂❤
Incredible plot and video! 😊 How do you manage slugs in your polytunnel? Do you do anything to control their numbers or do you live with the occasional damage?
Thank you! I get asked this often and the honest truth Is. I get damage like everyone but not as often. I bark the paths, I've found they hate them when bone dry, I nematode the plot every spring and I also have hedgehogs, I introduced to the plot. They keep the small slugs at bay. Has worked for me. Danny 🌱
Hi Danny! I was saying (out loud) “oh please don’t go in there”!!. I was seeing daddy long legs and snakes😬! I was so happy when you got the heck outta there😀! Peace-
Haha! I can't rule out snakes.. but I didn't even consider them when I walked in. The previous owner of the plot refused to go near it. It petrified him. So it just stood there. I have to bite the bullet and get a new shed there...
Was thinking you would be lost forever in that tiny shed!! It just holding on by tetanus rusty nails and bindweed 🤣 But like the idea of the opening doors and a sofa in the shed 🐝thanks for the great video🌻
Hello. They are from First Tunnels. They do 3ft, 4ft and 5ft hoops. They were bought over a few years. Christmas presents etc haha. Whenever I couldn't think what to have .. I'd say " get me a hoop" 😂
Hey Danny, I can't understand why folks think they have a stake in everything anyone does. They can get mean and demanding and it makes no sense to me. Farmers make so many decisions mostly financial which impacts the viability of a farm. Folks with no stake will line up to express displeasure at will. I am a positive person and refuse to take part in negativity or drama. I will and do walk away. I do appreciate constructive criticism but so much is negative and hurtful meant to lift the speaker and to push the subject person down. Nice plot tour thank you for the video today take care be safe, Steven
Hey Steven. I don't get mean comments..I've seen other youtubers get them and I'm like " why did they deserve that"..some viewers can be just plain nasty. I'd not tolerate it. They'd be blocked. For all we do to film & edit the videos.. cut us some slack 😂. I'm always positive and I don't post videos for people to judge or knock me down. It's not for me. Some comments I got last week were daft. They hadn't even watched the video 🤦♂️😂😂
Love honest videos, gives us a much better understanding. Same problem here Danny win some lose some but bigger lose than win. First Autumn / winter trying to grow and in my new raised garden beds as had been over your way bar covid years since 2013 to miss winter. So a bit of a learning curve. I get great germination of seeds, but then they stop developing when planted out yes harden off. So today decided i may give winter a miss next year. I still have seedlings but i think too late now to plant out. (All cabbage caulis). So ive come back in and watching you with a cuppa. I didnt know the beans liked going the other way…..maybe thats why mine hate me! I filled my beds with vegie mix from supplier, hasnt sunk like my layering did years ago. Oh oh i see a TV coming next. Those beams looked ok you could use them. At least no red belly black hiding there!
Honesty is best. Ahh, that's disappointing. I think it happens to us all, though. One year, I just couldn't get the sprouts to grow. They stayed at 1 foot tall all winter. We plod on, don't we. Check your beans and let me know!!! Haha
Hi i wondered if on your new plot in front of the shed temporarily you could clear it and use it as a seating area. You have lots of allotment friends to share the space with, and is a nice place to view the fig and olive plot from. One other different question is do you top your cucumbers or just leave them, thanks.
How about, "Fig Plot" and "Olive Plot"? You could tell some people that black is black, but they still won't listen or believe you LOL Good tour - do more!
Danny, absolutely love all your videos. I'm quite a newbie and its always good to listen to your tips and what you are up to you. I'm thinking about investing in some of the corrugated raised beds that you use, what are te benefits and do they help with this years ongoing battle against slugs eating everything 😮 Thanks and keep up the good work 👏
Hey andy! Thank you for watching! I was a newbie 4 years ago! You'll soon catch up, haha. They are an investment, for sure. But they last a lifetime! I personally think they help with the slugs. If it's not due to the waves metal.. I do not know why.. but they don't seem to like climbing the bendy metal. To be continued....
You could take bits if that old shed and make signs or something just to have a piece of the history of the plots. Otherwise, remove it, it's too far gone. I'm curious, why the narrow beds? They could be twice as wide and you get more area for plants. The raised metal beds I've seen people put chunks of wood and old soil in the bottom, which is one way of keeping soil moisture, plus the soils have more fungi for good plants health. Onward.
Sprouts for winter would be quite unique set into a cylinder with netting until big season is done. They grow tall, so a cylinder should make picking easier.
The beds were created that size purely to fit the hoops.. they are 3ft wide when made and the wood I purchased was 13ft long. So they ended up 10ftx3ft . No other logic really hahaha! I've got some wood in some of the metal beds. Especially the really tall ones. They were a nightmare to fill. 😂
Maybe you could draw a simple diagram on paper (and show it in a video) to explain where the two plots are located in relation to each other. Love your videos, but when you move around the spaces it gets confusing. Thanks!
best way to deal with Mares tail and bindweed .... Napalm or Agent Orange 🤣... If you do put a tin roof on your new shed then put it over a wooden roof ... My old shed I inherited was a wrinkly tin on and ith used to get condensation on the inside that always dripped down your neck😑
I like plot tours but I find that on bigger plots I loose perspective. I know it would be mega hard work but I would love to see a type of Marauders map (Harry Potter fans will know) to show where you are in your plot during the tour.
That shed is scary! Do you have snakes and poison ivy in Wales? We have 3 kinds of poisonous snakes, and that shed looks like a perfect haven for them. EEK! Those brambles are going to be a big chore to clear out. Your plots are looking great.
Hey leanne! We do have snakes. Grass snakes & adders... but not poison ivy. Luckily. I never considered snaked when I climbed in 🤦♂️😂😂 and after reading the comments I question why I didn't factor that in haha!
@@TheGrowUpChannel Forgot to mention I like the ambling and rambling style of your videos as you tackle the jobs waiting. Would love to see a drone video now that your two plots are close by. Sometimes keeping the "map" of your plots in my head is tough. Well, maybe it's just that my head is so full of my own to-do lists, ideas, my garden layouts, and just plain gobblygook stuff! hahaha
Hi Danny, you often mention seed suppliers. I live in Cardiff and would like to purchase my seeds from local suppliers. Who would you recommend? Thanks Lee
Hi Danny love your you tubes. i have tried lots of labelling ides all have failed . I notice you do black with white writing now for your veg labels can you let me know what type of labile and pen your using now please Thanks Sue
Please... Don't change the way you do your videos. Love your method and style. It feels like I'm on your plot walking around with you, like I'm visiting. And I can think alongside you. Thank you 😊
Oh never! My style of filming is fixed i think haha thank you so much for a lovely comment. 😊 glad you enjoy.
Having the new plot next door is a no brainer and it makes perfect sense.
Well done Danny keep grafting.
Thank you, Nanou. Yes, I'm glad I kept the greenhouse, too. It's had a bit of an upgrade this week! Danny ♥️
😄
Have an awesome week...
@miriam2909 haha! Thanks miriam. You too 😊🌱
I love that you've taken on this new plot. Honestly, there's nothing I love more than to see some weed infested piece of land flourish and transform and become gorgeous with flowers, fruit and veggies. Here in Canada we have a rather short growing season (my rather small garden was a disaster this year), so I'll live vicariously through you and your adventures.
Oh I know! It's a great feeling to have a rough old bit of land and to turn it into a wonderland
I love how you have taken on the new plot. It makes sense what and why you are doing it. Don’t doubt yourself, you are making the best decisions. Watching from North Carolina!😊
Thank you Debbie. That means a lot. Danny 🌱
The new plot will be looking awesome in no time matey. Shed down new shed and leept the windows and the arch. Great video.
Cheers tony! Bring a fork round will ya 😂😂😂🌱
Cheers Danny. Definitely good to have the occasional plot tour, good to get an overview of how things are going but you do you 😆🙂🌱
Thanks joe! Yeah ill try and add a few tours around. Always handy to update things. Danny 🌱
Ah wow thank you. 😊 yes I think it's taken off so much pressure and a nice project for summer and autumn I think 😊
You crack me up with the adventure into the shed! I love how you explore and add projects. Excited to see evolution
😂😂 daft aren't I! Never normal haha! Thank you Rebecca 😊🌱
Hi Danny, what a fantastic video, how, do you not just stare at that fantastic view of those mountains, stunning.
😊 Livingston Daisys, what a blast from the past, as a child they were my favourite 😍 ❤️
Thanks Wendy! Oh I do! It's beautiful isn't it! Maybe next spring you should sow some livingstone daisies! Danny 🌱
Oh I completely agree with you Christine. Another year of irratic weather. Yes the shed will be a challenge. I'll get there though 😊🌱
I love your new plot and the shed looks like it was once something to be proud of. A lot of effort went into it and it would be nice to use some of it.
I agree Jackie. I'll try and use as much as I can for sure. It's been there a very long time. Danny 🌱
How do you not have 100,000 subscribers? You are so enjoyable and likable.
Aww that's so nice of you to say! I'm happy with what I have but everyone's welcome 😊🌸🌱
Brilliant Danny Keep Doing What you Are doing
Thanks, will do! 😊🌱
Of course we all thought you should go in the shed! As if you needed to ask 😂
You have so much to do for that area but it sounds like a project you’re going to enjoy getting your teeth in to.
@@TheGrowUpChannel you’re very welcome ☺️
Allotment looking good
So nice of you. Thank you 😊
Brilliant progress Danny. The new plot is really taking shape. Wish I had done some swede but forgot and don’t really have space now. Ho hum. Take care. Mags
Thanks mags! Oh swede is a staple in my garden. One of my top 5 veg to sow haha. Get some direct sowed. You've still time 😊🌱
Plot tours...Yes please..
I'll add a few in 😊🌱
As usual, you surprise all of us with how you soldier on and get things done. Thanks for giving us a peep into your adventurous, plant loving soul! I bet there are times when you get gardening ideas when you lay your head down to sleep, making it hard to get your zzzzz's. Take care Danny!
Haha Marilyn more than you know. I'm forever writing things down before sleep haha
You can put oregano in green lentil spaghetti 🍝 bolognaise. Thanks for another interesting video Danny. 🪴 🌱 🌿 🌾 🌽 😊
Ooh sheryl. That sounds lovely actually! See you soon..Danny 🌱
Thanks Jackie. Oh that's abboying isn't it. I've noticed my dahlias are slower this year. We plod on, don't we! Benny 🌱
Love both of your plots. Looks amazing ❤
Thank you so much! 😊🌱
Hi Danny,
Just catching up with you now! 🤦♀️Who wouldn't want two plots side by side...perfect for you. So looking forward to seeing the plots gradually blend into one.
Have a fabulous weekend
Take care, Annie 🐞 🐝 🌱
Haha! Forever change. No stone stays still in my life 😂
Cracking on nicely Danny! I was waiting for the shed to collapse around you in an ode to Buster Keaton! 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh thanks! Haha! Alas I survived lol!!!
You do what's best for you.
Thanks viv 😊
First of all, I understood your plans perfectly, you explained it just right. Weird people didn't. Also, I was glad to see you go in the shed, that's the first thing I would have done. Hahah. Your plants are so healthy, everything is looking so good.
Thank you Karen! Haha I thought I explained it well 😂 it's just next door. I'll try again next week 😂 yes the shed had to be explored didn't it! Imagine it fell on me while filming 😂😂😂😂
Oh that shed - looking forward to seeing the transformation and what lies beneath the brambles!
Thanks Jane! I'll be taking some inspiration from your shed. For sure! Danny 🌱
Hey Danny. Another great video. I love your enthusiasm for the new plot. Please don't overdo it though. You have a lot going on jn your life atm. Take care. Haydn
Thank you haydn! I never stop regardless haha. I'm almost at the stage where I can relax now 😊🌱
Loved the plot tour, I’m amazed how much you’ve got done on the new plot already, it looks like you’ve had it for ages.
YES!!! I was all bummed out because it started being a rainy dreary day and now I have your video to look forward to.
Aww thanks haha! Danny 🌱
It's going to look great Danny, so much potential and so many decisions 😂 Your new beds look lovely, those swedes are so big compared to mine 😂 Take care
Haha so many decisions! Hopefully you'll see it all in summer. Your swedes will catchup for sure! Danny 🌱
Take care for now
Thanks Michelle. The plots are coming along.. but plenty to do! A potting shed would be a great asset for you! Danny 🌱
Thank you Lorraine. Yes I'm taking it easy 😊 well trying haha! Really loving the water feature. Danny 🌱
All looking great Danny ❤ Love the ordinary and the extraordinary plants. Herb bed coming along nicely.
King Tut peas, that's an interesting story. Greenhouse will be useful for you and extra garden centre growing space 👍😄
That's so brave going in the shed. I love it, it has character, be great if you can patch it up and save it.
Thanks for the shout out, be great more viewers joining in with the sunflower 🌻 challenge. Yours coming along and going to look beautiful 😍
Thanks Linda. Aww that's okay. Good luck with the sunflower challenge. Don't you come sabotaging my sunflowers 😂😂 the shed was creepy haha
Danny 🌱
Regarding beans and the way they turn around the pole - I believe it is to do with planetary magnetic pull
Yes that's the one! Fascinating isn't it. I tried to trick them once. They fooled me back haha!
I am the same Tracy! I'm exhausted haha! I'm spending 10-12hr days there at the moment. We will get there... I hope haha!
Danny ,your video's are brilliant ,whatever you do
Thank you Barry. Always supportive. Danny 🌱
The plot looks mighty fine Danny and all those flowers will help attract polinators. My parsnips failed and I used 3 packets of seeds
And only got 4 parsnips. The new plot could be called Danny's Digs
😁 or the Mountain view garden.
Thanks Ian ! Oh parsnips are next years battle I think haha! I got 2 😂😂 I don't even like parsnips though haha!
Oh that's promising news! So many see it with doom and gloom. Thank you kaye.
Wow this is so exciting 🎉🙌🥰💕
A lot of ideas floating around too 😊
@@TheGrowUpChannel that’s one of my favourite bits the ideas and the feeling you get from that, I eat , sleep and drink it lol totally obsessed 🤩
That old shed 💚 We have a similar climate and a potting shed that opens up for winter work sounds lovely. 🌧️🌱
Oh great! I've been looking at pictures online all week for inspiration haha
I come to you for not the plot tour, love looking in background to see what's changed
Other people's plots? 😏🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Danny ☺. Nothing to do with gardening, but I do like the more natural distingu distinguished looking beard! Beats the Disney pirate one lol 😆. Sending love, light and new plot blessings ☘🌿🌱🍃 xx
Hahahahaha thanks Veronica 😂😂😂
Encore une belle vidéo 😊
A bientôt
Thank you 😊 🌱
Looking fab Danny.
You know what.. its been on my list for weeks and weeks to cover them cables haha! You're right though.. I can't do it all!
I absolutely love your style of filming and videos. But I won't lie, I allllways love an allotment tour. So don't change your videos but maybe once every few months you could add a tour style video or part of a video? I bet those videos would do well!
Haha! Why thank you so much! Yes I'll pop in the odd one 😊🌱 I've plodded on again today. Why do I do it to myself haha!
Haha thanks Jim! You know me, I never stop!!! Danny 🌱
Is there anyway you could do a map of your new plots? 👣 loved watching this Danny, exciting times ahead, can't wait to see what you do with your new space ❤
It's next door! Lol exciting but also tiring times ahead haha! Thanks Gem x
Looking good love the water feature cant wait to see progress video of your new plot
Thank you Ann! Yes plenty to come! Danny 🌱
I love a plot tour and a nosey around someone's garden as most of my inspiration comes from a look around. I love the new plot and that shed has some great features but it does not look safe at all. The new potting shed will look great with the bifold doors and if you are patient enough you will get the bits for free on marketplace. Fab video Danny and keep up the hard work
Oh me too emma! Haha looking forward to the potting shed too. Thanks Emma!
Shed monster hahaha! It's going to be a project and half liz! For sure! Any update on your allotment site?
@@TheGrowUpChannel We have been given an extension to raise the rest of the money but they haven't given any length of time so we're all planting and carrying on at the moment, fingers x we can get the money.
Danny the plots look great. Everything is starting to grow at last. Yellow courgettes I definitely agree. You said don’t let me plant more courgettes. Don’t do it Danny 😂😂😂
Yellow Courgettes for the win! Haha I know!!! I don't need 3 courgette plants 🤦♂️😂🤦♂️😂
You cant beat taking on more work LOL i do it all the time, give up a nice plot an take on a shambles just for the challenge. All looking great Mate and the views and subs are amazing mate Alan
I know alan 🤣🤣 I'll never learn! If I had stuck to my old plot.. id be relaxing now! Nope. Back to the projects haa.
Lovely Italian dish to try is courgettes and pancetta (fry with olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano) cook spaghetti place together finish with butter and Parmesan (a recipe from my Italian chef dad) simple but lovely
That sounds amazing!!!!!!!
Glad you survived the trip into the shed eek 😲You are braver than I would be. We have a metal shed and it is nicknamed the spider shed - too many false widows in there. I go in with gloves on or send hubby 🤭
Gosh I love how it both plots are coming along.
Danny 🌱
Great video Danny. I'm all for the windows potting shed as you know 🎉 out could use the green metal bench supports for the new plot.
You'll be first in the new shed Cheryl! I promise haha
Certainly some treasures with the window frames, archway and maybe some beams? Maybe, you could also save some wood panels to make another plot sign? How about calling it the rustic garden, in honour of the metal composter, filing cabinet and shed? Also means that you are not tied down to what you do or grow in it?
I would line that filing cabinet with some empty compost bags or something to stop the rust getting into the soil. Hope you got your tetanus up to date!?
I like how it says A1 on the shed wall as you came out! lol Erm... haha
We have meres/ horse tail on the veggie side of our garden.
Take care. Danny 🌱
Occasional full tours are great.
You made me nervous stepping in that shed!
Haha! Sorry Robin lol the shed was creepy lol
Glad you went in the shed I was dying to see what was inside there 😂. The new potting shed is going to look fantastic. Your plots always look beautiful.
Haha I've cleared an opening now. Go have a nose. Don't trip or you'll be buried in wood 😂😂😂
I love your videos, they’re always interesting and I enjoy seeing what you’re doing.
Glad you like them! Thank you 😊 🌱
Danny work your magic xx have fa food Sunday xx🧑🌾🧑🌾🧑🌾🧑🌾🧑🌾
Haha thanks Susan 😊 😄
The filing cabinet would be perfect for growing carrots on top of the IBC tank and give it a lick of paint and put some roofing fabric inside it and job done.
That's not a bad idea. Cheers ian!
Love the plot tour, we would enjoy a monthly tour! You've done loads to the new plot, well done 👏🏻
PS thanks for the shout out, you're courgette is bigger than ours 😅
Thank you! You're welcome. 😊 and 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey Danny, another great vlog.
Aww why thanks Debbie! Thanks for subscribing! Means a lot. Danny 🌱
All looking gd danny 👍☀️
Thank you 😊🌱
I need to move to wales lol you have green fingers 😍slugs and snails eating everything despite everything I do and I’m doing everything !!!
Oh wouldn't that be fantastic kate! A deck! I do love a hammock! Haha
Never thought of a hammock! Brilliant.
Tetanus rusty nails and bindweed 😂🤣😂🤣😂 I'm the same ! Haha
What tubing do you use for your netted beds? They look much nice than the blue water pipes that most people use!
Haha
@@TheGrowUpChannel I’ll do that Danny when it’s time for planting.
Hi i wondered if on your new plot in front of the shed temporarily you could clear it and use it as a seating area. You have lots of allotment friends to share the space with, and is a nice place to view the fig and olive plot from. One other different question is do you top your cucumbers or just leave them, thanks.
A seating area is on the cards for sure, Anita! I've never topped a cucumber plant! Have you?
No I haven’t , another UA-camr said he did and I wasn’t sure so I thought I’d ask you as your crops do grow well. I might try it on a spare.
@Anita6687 oh really. No I tend to just let them do their thing 😀
Danny the plot is looking amazing, beautiful mate, I'll have any spare brassica you have if it's not pidgeons eating them it's slugs grrrrrr
Thank you matey! Well if I have any left, you'll get a message. But the way I'm plodding through these beds I'll be getting most in 🤣🤣
Прекрасный Божий день. Приветствую всех тружеников земли
Thank you very much 😊🌱
Really enjoyed the video 😊
Why thank you very much 😊🫶🌱
Yes
How about, "Fig Plot" and "Olive Plot"?
You could tell some people that black is black, but they still won't listen or believe you LOL
Good tour - do more!
😂😂😂 cheers Steve haha
Danny, absolutely love all your videos. I'm quite a newbie and its always good to listen to your tips and what you are up to you.
I'm thinking about investing in some of the corrugated raised beds that you use, what are te benefits and do they help with this years ongoing battle against slugs eating everything 😮
Thanks and keep up the good work 👏
Thanks Danny, I've got myself a winter project 🎉
Heey
Much love from the Nederlands xxx
Thank you so much 😀
You could take bits if that old shed and make signs or something just to have a piece of the history of the plots.
What clamps do you use for the netting?
They are called 6 inch clamps. I shall pop a link in the description for you 😊
Maybe you could draw a simple diagram on paper (and show it in a video) to explain where the two plots are located in relation to each other. Love your videos, but when you move around the spaces it gets confusing. Thanks!
Oh that's great to know. To me it's easy. It's next door. But I'll be sure to add that to the next video. Thank you Kathryn 😊🌱
Future career as a garden designer, Pet 🌱🌱🌱💚💚💚
Haha! Another career 🤦♂️😂😂😂😂😂
best way to deal with Mares tail and bindweed .... Napalm or Agent Orange 🤣... If you do put a tin roof on your new shed then put it over a wooden roof ... My old shed I inherited was a wrinkly tin on and ith used to get condensation on the inside that always dripped down your neck😑
Ain't that the truth haha! Never think you'll beat marestail.. it'll always beat you 🤣 that's a great tip for the tin roof! Thank you!
I like plot tours but I find that on bigger plots I loose perspective. I know it would be mega hard work but I would love to see a type of Marauders map (Harry Potter fans will know) to show where you are in your plot during the tour.
Hahaha! Maybe footsteps when I move. Behave now! Haha!
Well, maybe it's just that my head is so full of my own to-do lists, ideas, my garden layouts, and just plain gobblygook stuff! hahaha
@zinnia3190 a few have said this. I'll take that on board. Me and drones done get on 😂😂
Hi Danny, you often mention seed suppliers. I live in Cardiff and would like to purchase my seeds from local suppliers. Who would you recommend?
Thanks
Lee
Hey Lee! I use realseeds a lot..they are based In Wales.. great seeds too! You get a decent amount in the packet too. Danny 🌱
Thanks for the quick response. I will add them to my list.
Hi Danny love your you tubes. i have tried lots of labelling ides all have failed . I notice you do black with white writing now for your veg labels can you let me know what type of labile and pen your using now please Thanks Sue
Hey sue! Thank-you! Sure thing! I'll add them in the description for you now 😊
@@TheGrowUpChannel thank you
Love the shed! 😂😂😂😂 need a hard hat 🥴
Haha thanks Rita! Yes I do 😂😂
