Thanks for posting this. debating on these same two systems - I have the G4s, but leaning heavily towards the RodeLink because it has a headphones jack on the transmitter - which is great for the boom operator.
Great work setting up all these for us! Extremely helpful. Thank you for putting these together!! I'll definitely spread the word out so you can get more subscribers! Best of luck, my friend! 🍀
Great video! You should look into the Sanken CS-3e. I used to use the MKH-416 for outdoor and the MKH 50 for indoor, but now I mostly just use the CS-3e. It's a great utility mic that does great even in indoor conditions. There are still times where the MKH 50 might be a better choice, but when on smaller shoots I like to stay light and bring less gear, and the Sanken always sounds great. The guy that convinced me was Mark Ulano, who's the sound mixer on most of Tarantino's movies. He swears by the CS-3E. Cheers!
Thanks on for this. I'm getting a used Tx-Xlr but the locking screw collar was lost by the owner. Would you say it's absolutely necessary for mounting on shotgun mics. I know the locking clip is spring loaded but the collar does it hold tension so the mic doesn't rock? . I'm.rrally..trying to determine if I could get by without the collar.
Just came across your video really liked it. Very honest. I’m curious as to now that you’ve had it for a while what are your thoughts I’m really interested in going wireless with my boom and there are some reviews not sure if it’s worth it. Are you happy are you satisfied you still use to set up?
Did you find it difficult to get the phantom power to work with your mkh50? I’ve just acquired this setup but not sure whether phantom is meant to be automatic
When you connect the Rodelink receiver to USB power, do the batteries inside the receiver charge while running off USB power or does the receiver truly run off the USB power? I'm asking because I am using Alkaline batteries in the receiver and I don't want the alkaline batteries to charge when i connect to USB power.
If I'm on location, and interviewing someone, do I need a boom? What if I just use a wireless mic, and put it to the subjects mouth after I ask them a question?
Hey man. I have a question. I'm using the rode newsshooter kit and I'm having floor noise issues. I think I figured it out. Coming out from the receiver I'm using a 3.5mm to xlr into my preamp then into my camera. I just tried on a different pre Amp having just a 3.5mm to 3.5mm into the preamp and my noise is gone. Is there any good solutions going from 3.5mm to xlr?
Trust me, I really really thank you so much, you helped me a lot in finding wireless solutions 🙏
Excellent video

Bonsoir le rode link peut t-il capter les signaux forte sans atténuée ?
