"What’s really important with this pandemic is people have determined what is important in their lives and where they want to spend their time. Laundry is not one of them and I don’t blame them. I’d love to learn more about how to advertise. The nuts and bolts. Google ads? Facebook Ads? Both? Local radio? How to get into the college campuses? How to get into the posh neighborhoods? Budget?

We have a very successful client in New York who is making five figures a month in wash and fold pickup and delivery and her team does the laundry at a local laundromat. She is thinking about buying a commercial facility to process the clothes, but in her area of New York they will not let you put in gas dryers as they are moving everything to electric. That being said, the most challenging part is finding customers and that is a direct result of your web ranking. It takes time to rank well and you need to have a great website, by the way we do make those for laundry services across the country and they tend to perform very well. As far as charging per pound, we charge $2 per pound at our laundromat Super Suds. Your area may command more per pound or less. In addition, you may be able to work something out with the owner and get a discount or be able to store supplies at the laundromat too. The owner may want you to come in during off hours and you can create a symbiotic relationship. Maybe you get the business first, and then you can have better negotiation positioning when you discuss terms or you can take your business elsewhere. Best of success and if you are interested in our pickup and delivery solution, go to www.curbsidelaundries.com

Hi there, quick question. I'm wanting to get started but I plan on using a laundromat in town. Should I tell the owner that I'll be doing this, or does that not matter? FYI, the laundromat does not have its own pick up and delivery service.

Usually it does not matter. I have seen laundry service providers work something out with the owner and are able to get keys to the place to use after hours. That way the machines spin day and night and then it does not interfere with other customers.

Do a web search for wash and fold or laundry pickup service and see who comes up. Making sure your laundry service is at the top for the most popular key words for both residential and commercial accounts is how you grow your business. We provide guidance to our clients on how to accomplish that.
You can also pay for advertising through Google adwords. That is effective, but expensive.
You can also send out text messages to existing clients to encourage them to order again.
