@@WondrousLanternProductions Definitely not. The before actually looks much better than the after. More relaxed and masculine. The after frankly looks feminine and preppy. I'm with you, bro. Classic fit is king. Bond's shirt is nowhere near this tight.
I've been having the hardest time trying to find the right shirt to help me feel comfortable about my body when I wear them. This has been eye-opening. Thank you
I think it's important to note that while a shirt can be bought with loose sleeves and waist, it must fit neck and shoulders first. Tailoring those is a completely different thing.
That's funny because the untailored version looks way better. More functional and practical. If you want to be feminine and preppy, that's up to you. Before > After.
I disagree. The shirt's now very feminine with less flexibility & comfort. It looked better before. 007's shirt is actually loose and relaxed. This video should be titled How to Look Like a Homosexual.
@@kbrett2004 The original. The spy. Sean Connery (1930-2020). Rest in peace. 🕊️ Look up the James Bond Dispatches Professor Dent scene. That is a classic fit. Look how relaxed and practical it is.

@@kbrett2004 I've seen Pierce Brosnan & Daniel Craig usually wearing classic fit also. Even the shirt he has on in this scene fits him comfortably, it is much looser and way more practical compared to this skin tight nonsense. Classic fit is also known as traditional fit and allows freedom of movement. Every gentleman and made man dressed in this style back in the good old days and many still do!
I think going to the local tailor is easiest- in my neighborhood appropriately called Make It Fit. My tailor took in some Lululemon pants for $12. Hard to beat.
On all of my shirts, the seam is sewn down (so it looks like 2 straight lines). That quarter inch isn’t a flap on inside. Looking at this video, the blue shirt is like that too. Is that better than using a zig-zag and ironing it down?
Any advice on how to tailor a button down shirt where the original hems don't line up on the front and back (i.e. it's longer and differently shaped in back). When you get to the hem, if you try to narrow it it will look misaligned at the seam. If you try to just taper into the corner it will still have the same issue just less in addition to it being wider than you want.
Maybe after 50 shirts it gets easy. Seriously, you are going to screw up your shirts when you first start. This is why schools used to teach hone economics.
Nice video. I need to try this. I have long monkey arms. So with long sleeve shirts, I always have to buy a size to big in order for it to fit my long arms.
More like an effortless cool guy. The title of this video should be How to Look Like a Homosexual. Now you have less masculinity, movement, and comfort. James Bond's shirt is actually loose and relaxed. Classic fit will always be king. There's no reason to make your clothes skin tight. That's ridiculous.
It's depend on the type of the jeans. I learning Tailoring, especially Man's Tailoring (sorry for the grammar mistakes, i am from HU) So, the problem with jeans is the making. Mass product jeans (even high quality jeans) are made with a special folded sewing, (in HU: Lapos-varrás, mirror translated: "Flat-sewing") This sewing is not complex but it needed space to sew it correctly, and it sewed from the outside of the fabric ("color-side" in Hungarian) Classic, High quality jeans have both of the sewing, inside and outside sewing make with this special flat sewing. And here is the trick. A mass producted jeans are not made with simple sewing machines. They are made with a special machine, designed for this job. So, can you do your own jeans fit? Well, yes, if not both sewing are flat sewing, then you can open the sewing that is not flat sewing and do the similar process, like in this video. But if both sewing is flat sewing, it will be a walk in hell. (in my opinion) I hope my grammar is understandable, and i have helped you.
Use an appropriately sized jeans needle not a regular universal needle. 4 layers is probably max you can sew with a home machine. A walking foot helps. And for any bulky seam you need to prop your foot up with a spacer. Search for hump jumper for an example but you can use a small piece of wood or layers of fabric as a spacer.
It might be because I’m English and this it what we all wore and the kids still wear for our school uniforms but a short sleeve button shirt really does just look like a fully grown man in a kids school uniform to me? Gives off proper Angus Young vibes. The one in the actual video isn’t too bad but the one in the thumbnail is the exact shirt the boys wear in the school my 7 year old daughter goes.
I have some short sleeve linen shirts that I want slim, will adding darts do the trick? Because I notice that my slim fit dress shirts have darts, and I figure that I can undo the darts if I ever gain weight as I age.
Tailors in my area charge half of the cost of a decent t-shirt to tailor it. I have about 20 t-shirts. For the price of tailoring them I could buy two sewing machines and still have some money to spare. I would not do it myself with a blazer or expensive shirts but for inexpencive everyday clothes I really want to try DIY tailoring now.
It's ironic because the before looks a lot cooler than the after. You guys just made him look feminine and preppy... C'mon, man. Classic fit is king. Now the shirt is confined, restricted, and uncomfortable to move in. So no, unlike 007's shirt, it does not look good. Tailored doesn't mean tight. Traditionally, clothes are supposed to allow freedom and movement. You did not improve the appearance at all, you diminished it.

This is the best video I've seen to tailor shirts, extremely simple to do and well explained 👏
First rule of looking like James Bond: Don't be fat or overweight. Second rule: Get all your shirts and suits tailor made.

Wow I was checking my notifications and this one popped up! Thanks for the video Antonio!

Great one ☝️
👍Gjob. To the point, visual affect on point. I should have paid more attention to my mother when she would sew.
Should I buy a shirt thats a size up to tailor?
Do you sew it with the shirt inside out?

Classic fit is way more manly and practical than tailored fit. Not to mention much more comfortable and functional.
Use transparent thread, completely clear and all you should need. However, I still keep black and white.
Antonio can you give some idea how to remove yellow stain from undershirt / from deodorant
Not about to try it, but it looks nice.
I have a button down short sleeve that's too long, it looks like a dress. How do I shorten it properly?
How to extend or resize a shirt pattern?
Hey Antonio, when are you going to make a style review of Cary Grant or Leonardo Dicaprio?
Added this to my queue. Thanks Aaron.

Yes darts can work. Depends on how much you need to take down though
Sewing the seat of your pants flat instead of the fabric going into "the valley" would be very helpful.
EXCELLENT.
Thanks!
That shirt fits perfectly. Just roll the sleeves and tuck your shirt in your pants. The original I mean
I think it’s easier to bulk up then try this.
Step One: Drop off shirt at your tailor. (Always know the name of your tailor. Some amazing UA-camr taught me that.)

why sew clothes when you can buy the size that suits you in the store
Because mass produced clothes aren't designed to fit you.
Sewing is not easy.
And, the shirt didn't look bad before tailoring it.
or just don't buy online. if i bought clothes online nothing would fit me
