I think pure Memento will be even better post-ROTA because it gets 2 support cards (Akihiron and Goblin Biker Grand Breakout). Also, Fuwalos doesn’t hurt it much, though Purulia can be very painful. Hopefully, Memento won’t die due to powercreep or Shifter decks becoming more prevalent.
The funniest part was during the top 8 and top 4 when chat was complaining about Julius almost always having dark ruler, evenly, or droplet in hand. Not sure if ppl arent up to date with Plants but they are notorious for having those cards at 3. Still kinda upset Yacine lost but its all good

Ive been enjoying drytron more, 45 cards and with minimal hand traps, mostly board breakers (planning on removing bystials and imperm for board wipes)

I think what happens post Rage of the Abyss is without all of the generic power cards Snake-Eyes will just fall off because every engine it can use can be used in other archetypes but people still won't like it because of how expensive Fiendsmith and Azamina are. But who can blame them when Konami could have made the secrets that have QCR upgrades ultras that have those same upgrades so the set would still be highly sought after but people who haven't got the $300-1000 to spend or have a family doesn't have to spend their children's college fees on Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I can remember a time when Konami would make a strong high rarity archetype and a lower rarity less expensive of somewhat similar power in the same set and Cross-Over Breakers almost mimicked that perfectly. We need another golden age of Yu-Gi-Oh were some of the top 5 best decks are $50-$100 at full power on release.

I miss yugioh, I just really wish there was a slower format alot of people played and I had time to go to locals
There are a few period formats, but most aren't official; you have GOAT format for 2002, Edison for 2012, and also Heart of the Underdog where anything in the meta is banned automatically.
Sadly, from my experience, a lot of players seem to have an issue with the idea of these formats. You could see if your friends want to do one between each other?,
@@Chimeratech_O.D. yeah Id prefer edison over the current format but only like one person at my locals plays it. it gets boring only playing against one person 😵
Tear is still really strong but if people don't use Phantom of Yubel and the Fiendsmith engine it'll get smoked by Branded without the Nightmare lock especially since without cards like Dark Ruler there is no solid answer to Light and Darkness Dragon Lord. Unlike Apalloosa it has 3 omni-negates meaning it can blank up to 3 cards for barely any resources and with Lubellion and Albion it is pretty easy to bring out.
If Shaddolls was to get in archetype support it needs its own version of Aluber and its grave effect could be like Hedgehogs so Grysta and Shekhinaga can use their effects easier. Additionally having a better fire than Hollow would be nice. It could be like Bystial Lubellion but for Shaddoll spell/traps. This would all you to use the continuous trap that acts like Branded in Red on your first turn. Giving it the same effect in grave as Hedgehog would help modernize cards like Grysta and Shekhinaga. All in all the deck has everything it needs already to become a modern Yu-Gi-Oh deck when they choose to revisit it as 1 of the best duel terminal archetypes in Yu-Gi-Oh history.

I love the fact people are complaining about the future of this game simply based of a big event. Yea like that has ever worked out how ppl think it will. Also that event had so many different decks for rep. Yes yubel had the most but only 30% rep during that event because its the best deck rn.

@@thecalieffect i was at the ycs, i heard plenty of people complain about the future of yugioh. In terms of price or gamestate or both. Like the gamestate of yugioh is fine, the price point needs work when it comes to staples but otherwise is fine. And the meta is all over the place with somewhat of a clear best deck. But others being able to beat it
As much as I’d love to see an other format of Purrely Happiness attack - declare honest in damage step, I’m of the assumption that as soon as ROTA becomes legal we’ll have an other tier 0 format, or at least something close to it

Another round of will Cali include dolls (Shaddolls) or preda in a teir list. Both are amazing if the user is skilled. Combined they are a killer deck. I think this meta season will be fun.

@@jbdragonlance your actually right because as long as we have all of these powerful and small engines that have Nibiru negates both have good interruptions granted the only way I can see Shaddoll being as good as Predaplants is as a Runick variant because the costs of Grysta and Shekhinaga can be hard to meet with Hedgehog being your only way of rigging either of them.
