Happy Earth Day ,Brothers and Sisters
love the shows from 70-72 when there were so many new tunes that could only be heard live as they hadn't made it on to an 'official' record release .. this show has 16 new tunes ..
Thanks again WOS, your personal journey to post your favourite shows brings joy to so many. Thanks brother.
Peace Love Health and Happiness to ALL ⚡
✌️❤️🎶🍀🌹
Thanks John positive vibes to you and Everyone Else!!🍄💨💨👍🌹😎
❤
Let me also take this opportunity to tell you of all the UA-cam curators you have the best taste by far. If you post a show, its killer. And I prefer listening blind on UA-cam, to be surprised by the setlists I’ve forgotten or never heard.
totally agree - i do not want to see the setlist before i listen to a show it spoils the magic. GD would not have been what they were if they handed out playbills before the show!
🧐🧐 Definitely One Of The Best Shows I've Heard To Date...Top 10 Easily...
Holy smokes! This show gets better as it goes along. HIGH energy indeed 😉 What a trip! Huge thanks WOS!
Thank you Wall of Sound!!💥🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄
A REAL TREAT!!😎🌹🌹💨💨
God bless the Grateful Dead 🍄
If your having a bad day nothing beats a new years show...thanks okie..🚐
WoS with another fabulous show! Thanks
I can't wait.. I'm looking forward to it. We now have our soundtrack for the night set❤. I'm gonna shuffle on over and finish smoking some bbq and jam out to the dead❤️💀⚘️✌️

thanks u..me and my mr charlie tell ya so..
37 days before I was born 😂 sorry I missed it...❤
as a stanford university student, i went to this show as well as the new year's show the year before...as both shows were warm up musical acts before we drove down to pasadena to see our stanford football team beat up ohio state and then michigan in those memorable rose bowl games...the change in realities from jerry and the boys at winterland to the princesses waving from flowered floats in the rose bowl parade on colorado blvd. and then jim plunkett and don bunce leading our team to victory in the football stadium was hard to handle at times...but the sunshine daydream was a river singing sweet songs that rocked our souls all day long on new year's day!
Always loved this show.Nice to hear an updated version. Sounds great! Thank you Charlie Miller.
And Rob Eaton
Thank you!! An absolute barn burner with sound to match 😮😊
Holy f*! Greatest performance of Sugaree I've heard. The entire show is absolutely top three. Amazing work @WallofSound65 !! Thank you!
Saw your post about the lovelight from Hundred Year Hall. Personally, my favorite lovelight is 9/19/70. Pigpen is on FIRE during that song, and when they played Get Together over the PA at the end of the show, that’s just the icing on the cake 😁
Sweet!!! Beautiful music filled weekend ❤❤❤❤
Was just listening WOS 7-31-71 yesterday in OCNJ…back to the grind tomorrow but I’ll take this wit’ me…
Just made my long wee You guys always come through, after a long day of work on a Saturday all I want to do is have a drink and listen to the Dead and you all put this up. Awesome thanks

Ciao WOS, grazie per il prezioso materiale che pubblichi. Volevo far sapere a tutti che Jerry Garcia e i "Dead" sono amatissimi ovunque, anche in Europa e in Italia. Not fade away
In Italia ne vedo pochi che li conoscono

This show right here is when the Dead when from being a good band to being the best band

Fantastic! I actually don't remember ever hearing this one, from my fave era! Thank you, this really makes my Friday night...

oh heck yeah what a gem. thankyou WoS! what a way to enter there most notorious year of playing music.
This is just what i needed for a long night in the woodshop! Thanks again WoS! Love it that you keep bringing fresh ones to rock my soul again and again!
Wow... This was likely just after the closing of the Filmore East & around when Winterland converted to a music only venue. Whata time!!!!!!!!!!
hell yeh! he says it's 3:45am in the silence before encore!!! Rock n Roll
Classic Grateful Dead.
I saw a few new years shows during this time…. What some people don’t know is that the Dead never started to play before 12am!!!! So when you look at this set list, you can figure out that this show ended after 4am!! 😂… good times! Thanks Wall!! 😊😊☮️
So the date should be 1/1/72
I was 2 months old. Still wish I could've been there! Lol
😵💫i was halfway thru grade 2
I was 23 months old! I had to get on my daddy's shoulders to see the show! Lol🎉🎉🎉
Donna’s first show!
keep em a comin. I enjoy the FM chatter
Thank you🍀
Thanks WoS!!!
Thank you!
Just 10 days after My Birth . ... And they were STILL DANCING IN THE STREETS 🎉
WhooooHooooHhOOoooooOo! 😁💥👊💫😎🐝🐝🐝⚡️⚡️⚡️
10/10
This is one of the craziest jams....with the dude ad libbing
Appreciate the upgrade 🎶 epic show into the wee hours of the New Year 🎉
Thanks WoS you rock! ✌
Thanks my friend!!!
Happy New Year to ALL :)
Billy is insane on this.
Wow
Ha cha cha choo 🎉
This is Donna’s first show
This was back in the days when their set breaks would be an hour & a half to two hours MINIMUM. Later on in the 80s & 90s it’d be more 45min to an hour tops.
Wasn't this Donna Jean's first show? 🤔
day before! 12/30 good call!
Who is the KSAN DJ lunatic? Lol
Apparently the concert was opened up by New riders of the purple sage which I'm wondering if Jerry played with them on that set and also Yogi phlegm which is the updated name from the sons of champion or something like that I didn't get the name correct exactly I don't know where the sets are from those bands. I've been playing the entire grateful Dead archive in chronological order for the past few years so I'm happy to finally get to 72
Awesome show!! The energy at the actual event must have been through the roof! Who is doing commentary here and there?
Ops i am at the w.o.s....Thank wall of sound...my speaker array is called ..greatful wall of fuzz...
Was this show also on TV on Channel 9? I remember one New Years Eve they were on (KQED Ch 9) and also on a Stereocast over 2 radio stations.
anybody got the setlist?
Too bad Keith's solo on "You Win Again" (and in pretty much the whole show!) is buried in the mix.
How do I search for shows using shinids to download?
Brent 's first!!!!
Far Out, 1 Good News Ear
Sounds great, thanks for sharing this!
Is the art me whenever I go to in n out burger ? Looks like it
Are you in SoCal, friend? You've got me jonesing bigtime now for a double-double....
@@WallofSound65 I’m just outside Tucson. We have 3. I go “Flying Dutchman” double patties cheese, no bread or annoying vegetables. Owsley diet
How good is this?
That good 🎉
Perty damned..
Are there other musicians playing with the Boys at this show?
Any thoughts on Billy backing out of the final tour?
The Greasy Troll aka Greezy Physique aka 1 Jon Fishman should Phil in. Probly busy tho
@@njnature so does riping Fishman make you feel better?
@@2112CO absolutely! What's your thought on Billy? I'm on the edge of my seat
@@njnature now I'm not a huge fan of what Phish is doing right now but Fishman is still driving the band. I think playing at a higher level than Trey,Mike or Page. Never been a fan of D&C but that's cause of John. My band's I am going to this Summer King Gizz, JRAD. STS9 Ted Trucks and some Jazz. Christian McBride and Bill Frisell. Billy's almost 80 and one of my all time favorite drummers.71 to 74 personal favorite years especially Fall 73 just the 5 boys. But it's not Phishs fault everyone is getting old. 92 to 03 best band rock on the planet IMO.
@@2112CO right on bro. Sorry, thought u were headed in a dif direction. Lots of neg Billy posts recently. I recall a vid from jersey city or Passaic where Jerry and Billy's eye contact and jamming floored me. people talk about the Phil Zone. the Bill Zone is a real place. kind of joking about Fishman, was pretty tuned up last night. Been off the concert trail for quite some time would love to see Melvin with JGB, JRAD, Dogs in a Pile, Mr Strings. Widespread Panic is my go to. Not a big fan of D n C either. trying to find more 74 GD . Lately listening to mostly JGB
