E46 M3 Differential Bushings + POV Drive - CSL Intake ASMR

- Have been needing to change out the diff bushings on the M3 for awhile now, and glad I did! They were COOKED. After the car was buttoned back up I took it for a quick canyon run to test out a new Mic a friend gave me.

The Car is a 10/2002 E46 M3, Steel Grey Over Imola interior. It was originally a SMG car with grey interior, but I 6-speed swapped it along with doing the interior. Performance wise, the car is 100% stock, minus the CSL intake, and the Euro CSL MSS54HP software. The car made 283whp on a Mustang Dyno, and 315whp on a Dyno Jet; On the base CSL Map. It has the stock US catalytic converters still, and a completely stock exhaust, and does NOT have CSL cams (still US Spec). Is sitting on 18x10 Apex Arc-8's all around, and stock suspension with HR springs.
Equipment:
- IPhone 11 (in car / face cam)
- ZOOM SHG-6 Mic (CSL Intake - Mic)
- 3M Heavy Duty Duct tape (I literally taped the ZOOM mic to the strut tower to record the intake sounds LOL)
- iMovie lul

The speedometer in the car is not accurate. The speed limit definitely was not exceeded, and all driving was done by a professional on a closed course at a disclosed location. Do not attempt at home. How are those revshift bushings by the way? I got the same ones sitting in my garage for when I tackle the subframe job
Hey you know I really like the Revshift bushings! I had them on my E36 as well and they stood up to some good abuse. And you should go for the airbox, imo every S54 should have had one, truly completes the car. Glad you enjoyed watching tom!

What up dude! You know, you might be able to get around not dropping the exhaust, as long as you can verify you can get access to the axel - to - diff bolts on the drivers side, but it never hurts to remove it. Only takes about 15 min and gives you a ton of free space. No fun working under a car on jacks so I try to make as much space as possible. Thanks for dropping by !
You need to drop the exhaust. And removing the exhaust is the easiest part of this job.
If you're worried about pulling the exhaust off, then you may want to rethink pulling the diff

Are you in CA? If yes, are you removing the box every other year? I own an 04 and been eyeballing these air boxes for years now.
Hey brotha! Yes Im in CA. I actually installed it right after I smogged last year, so I still have a bit more time before the next go around. Im going to try and Smog it with it installed, its an "OEM" part, and the car still has cats and stock exhaust. If its an issue, it really isnt that hard to go back to stock. oh yeah trust me, I am tackling the subframe repair as the next big job. I already did rod bearings, 6 speed swap and the CSL intake, so im pretty deep into her now lol

Yeah man stock exhaust and headers! The note is the CSL intake, low revs sound completely mean and has a really deep grunt. I love it! Its the 200mm CSL box, not the 120mm version so that plays a part in sound for sure.
