A phobia is literally an irrational fear. Yeah, howling like a four year old girl is what a phobic person would behave like when presented with the subject of their phobia.
When i see a spider I just freeze. if i see it walk/crawl to me I run away and If i can't I flip out but not scream
There are varying degrees of phobia. Some people may straight out pass out in the presence of the thing they are afraid of, some just recoil like you said. I personally puke whatever is inside my stomach if I have a close encounter with a bee or wasp.
Do you seriously expect sane people to understand what is like to have a phobia? Of course we don't understand, it's a mental illness. It's like asking everyone to comprehend reasoning behind actions of a schizophrenic, YOU JUST CAN'T. Inb4 "you would be suprised too", of course I would be, but I wouldn't be scared because I know that a house spider can't hurt me, doesn't matter how big it is.
mfw the majority of the comments section don't know what a phobia is and think that all fears are rational. I feel like a reality check is due.

Before this run, I'd been resetting for like 6 hours. Instead of loading the last savestate, I brought up the first one automatically and autosplitter reset the time.

Larvitar Depending on where you live, could be worse than what you're implying. Here in Washington state, your simple "house spider" could be a Giant House Spider or a brown recluse or even a wolf/hobo spider.
All those spiders are pretty fucking big and would freak me out as well if I saw one at my feet while gaming.
here in saudi arabia the biggest spider i saw wasn't even bigger than a middle aged cockroach

THANK YOU!! I am the guy from the video. I moved from California to Washington state.... this spider was the size of a CD player!! I had never seen a spider that big ever in my life, and never in my house either. I don't think it was a brown recluse but it was basically from my worst nightmares

Yes, but it only works on Virtual Console, so N64 runners still have to get cuccos.
Watching speed running videos makes me feel slightly better about myself until remembering that I live in the same world as these people.

While I have many flaws I do not rage when playing a video game and screech and throw tantrums when things do not go my way.
I mean everyone tilts at some point. if ur being competitive, if ur just running for fun that's different
