Decent video for first time lead core users. My take on swivels as well...absolutely agree with quality ball bearing swivels but of a design that you can handle with fat fingers in ice cold weather.
If I can add one thing about the Willis knot, once you get it wet check it again and make sure it's well cinched. I lost my favorite #1 Big Hammer gang troll when it let go after 10 minutes of trolling.
So I am still fairly new to leadcore trolling. I have standard suffix leadcore line. I’ve watched a thousand videos of guys attaching leader by stripping lead out of the sheath, inserting the leader into the sheath, and then tying an overhand knot. When I try this, the leader just pops right through the side of the sheath. After some research, I think this is because I am using the cheaper version of the suffix and the sheath just isn’t strong enough. Can someone please recommend me a good leadcore line to go with that will allow me to attach leader with the overhand knot ? I fish on NY reservoirs mostly for big brown trout from rowboat. The reservoirs can get up to 100feet deep but the browns are mainly in the top 30ft of the water column. I’ve seen guys having tremendous success by trolling leadcore. Any advice on a specific leadcore line including lbs would help, thanks.
Is there an advantage to only putting a certain amount of colors on for a specific depth? I'd like to put all 10 on even though I may not always need 10, but is it a pain with the boards or something?

Good video. Basic question - What is the main reason for backing line ? Why not spool entire lead core line and use its colors to measure depth ?
who ya gonna call...Dr. REEL Good....love it fellas

You dont clip boards to the lead core, but ont the backing. Most people have multiple reels with different amounts. Example 3,5,7, and 1p colors.
@@ryanbrand3946 thanks for clearing that up!
Turn on some lights for crying out loud!
I really can't see what you are doing. Make a close up video.
