My local have this in at the moment and it's definitely better than Guinness, I'll give it that much. For 4.4% its delivering a lot of flavour, but I like black beer when its a bit stronger and a bit more rich, like founders porter or kernel Export india porter.
I’m with you there! But despite loving the big and brash dark beers, I always find there’s a time and place for something Guinness-esque, and this nails just that. Cheers!
Absolutely love this beer - not tried it in a can as if yet but a pub local to me has it on draft and it's out of this world.

I guess any Guinness ‘rival’ needs to come in at a price point, this is no exception - Brewdog have managed to do it with Black Heart.
At £3.45 on their website, this isn’t going to catch the eye of said drinkers. It may get an independent following obviously, but there is stiff competition.
Very true. £3.21 for this if bought in a bigger pack. Expensive? In comparison sure. But many others putting out craft options at £5-6 so I think it’s more than fair for the quality. Brewdog, NitroSurge and this are all amount £1 apart from the next one up when bought in a multipack, and in order of quality (in my view) so it “fits” but yeah it won’t attract those who don’t care that much. But for those that do it’s actually a decent price for what it is!
Yeah - depends on their target customer base. Obviously they won’t be able to ‘manufacture’ the quantities of the breweries mentioned, so more of a niche market - which is absolutely fine. I hope it does well as they do great beers.
Beamish is the best Guinness alternative.
