Saw them live last year, they played over 3 hours and Robert Smith didn't want to leave the stage at the end. I've loved them for 30 years and that concert was one of the best moments in my life. This is one of the best songs ever written. Concise and beautiful.
"Just Like Heaven" is definitely one of my five or so favorite songs by The Cure. I've been a fan since 1989 , which was my sophomore year of high school. Three years later, just a week after high school graduation, I saw them in concert in San Diego with two BFFs, who are still my BFFs. Then, in late '92, my big bro got married, and being fans of The Cure, my bro and his new bride had their wedding DJ play "Just Like Heaven" towards the end of the reception. I brought a good friend as my date, so my bro and his bride, my friend and I , and a few couples did a late-80s, post-punk pogo to the song. Great memories indeed! ❤
Robert has known one woman in his life, his wife that we see dancing with him in this MV. Still after many decades of marriage he sings and writes for her... if that isn't love I don't know what is. He's so sensitive and vulnerable while doing it too,,, that's romance, that's beauty. Also yes you're right, Edward was inspired by him. Rumors says he was supposed to play the part but... he isn't really a good actor, god bless him :')
The Cure take their time to start a song and build up the atmosphere. The lyrics are wonderful as well with lots of vivid imagery: "spinning on that dizzy edge, I kissed her face, kissed her head' makes me see him spinning around while holding her. They have been around for over 40 years and they all give great concerts. They are such a great band
Tim Burton is a massive Cure fan. Robert was definitely the inspiration for Edward Scissor Hands. He was also part of the inspiration for Sandman and The Crow.
Oh, you want something longer? Try listening to Pictures Of You, From The Edge of The Deep Green Sea, One Hundred Years, The Same Deep Water As You, A Forest, Disintegration, The Kiss, Prayers For Rain, Apart, Untitled, or Burn.

Born in 1971 the 80s were so much fun...
'64 Me. Unreal weren't they.
Words can't describe how grateful I feel to have been born in 1971 and thus experienced 80s music as a teenager...
The greatest band 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Even the'80's key board still sounds cool in this song. :)

Yes, the bass line in The Forest will blow you away!
Legends
Both Edward scissor hands and Eric Draven (the Crow) are modelled from Robert Smith.
He’s also one of the three main influences on the appearance of Dream of the Endless (as Morpheus, anyway).
This song stands on its own against the testament of time, and always will.
Love The Cure 🖤
Fantastic!
The Cure "High"...Nuff Said.
Agree with You, this song is tooo short.
