this is an absolute god send, I taught myself how to knit last thursday and have been so addicted with it. It's helped keep me grounded and manage all the mental and financial stress post pandemic has brought. This has definitely been one of the most loveliest stitch patterns, thank you so much for an AWESOME instructional video! Thank you thank you thank you
This is a nice pattern. I have used it before, but the bind off in pattern is something I have never done and it is slick. Thank you. Now I understand how to do that when there are 2 stitches that need to be looked at as one. Great!
Thanyou so very much lovely for your way to clear explaining . iam going to try for baby blanket I am a breast cancer patienit . ive been under treatment so it does give energy eveey day once again thankyou my love
Thanks so much for this easy to follow pattern. You are such a great teacher! I've wanted to make a chevron blanket for a long time but I was too unsure of my skills/ability. Thanks again.
your video made the chevron stitch look easy i going to try this ,,,,,started knitting because of health reason to stay busy then just laying around but know hooked thks again
You are a great teacher for beginners.I do mess up especially when adding a stitch from the back but I will keep practicing .I love how you go by step by step and don't go fast like some other videos I've watched.Thank you for teaching this old dog a new trcik
Does anybody else realize the pattern includes 2 increases on each end but no decrease to counter it? So there left over stitches on each side? What am I doing wrong?
Pattern modification to chevron stitch and join in the round: On 14sts and 2rows R1: Kfb, K4, s1K1psso, K2tog, K4, Kfb R2: K only Do not +2 because there is no finished "edge" in the round. Adding 2 after casting on a multiple of 14 will cause your reps to loose balance.
I am knitting a blanket using this technique , how many stitches do i cast on for that? I casted on a multiple of 14 +2 but don't always end with a kfb then knit one.
I added one extra count of 14 for mine and i'm stuck. I guess I never caught which section of the 2nd row instructions were the repeat part. I've tried counting the stitches with instructions backwards but i'm always off. and the pattern i found on ravelry doesn't match yours. Could you tell me which part is the repeat part?
Can you ball park about how much yarn I would need for an average length scarf? I can't seem to find a written pattern for a scarf. Your tutorial is very clear, thank you.
I love this pattern but you end up with 2 extra stitches each row. The repeat takes care of itself but the Kfb at the beginning and End add 2 stitches every row Please advise.
@@amberwillis6265 yes ma'am and it's lovely. It's a 14 stitch repeat. She doesn't say that in the pattern. Mark off every 14 stitches and put a mhelps. It's a 14 stitch repeat. The pattern works. Do a swatch of 28 stitches. Follow the video. It does work out. Hope this helpd.
I am using this pattern and it worked wonderful when i did a test square of two sets of 14 + 2, but now that I am making a blanket one side is going up straight like it should whereas the other is crooked and looks like it is increasing every even row. I recounted my stitches and I have the correct amount and have been doing the pattern on evens (rs) and purling on odds (ws). I don't know why its doing this :/
This pattern is a panel designed for two straight needles or unjoined round needle set (Read: as a one-sided as a scarf, shawl, throw) I tested it and really it does not translate mathematically or aesthetically in the round (joined in the round // magic circle). Follow the pattern in the video for a panel. BUT! For a round piece of work as in a cowl, skirt, or one-piece sweater the translation follows as; in 2 row reps on 14sts : R1- *kfb, k4, s1k1psso, k2tog, k4, kfb* R2- k No need to 14sts +2 or kfb×2, which this video instructs to make non-rolling edges but must be omitted in the round or you will end up loosing your 14sts repetitions. Hope this helps you and others.
I am wanting to make a baby blanket and want to make sure I am starting right. I am wanting to do 14x8. Do I just add 2 or do I add 2 to each of them? Thanks
Please show me how to understand the kfb where it appears in the pattern. Everything between the two stars takes care of itself when it comes to increasing and decreasing, but the kfb at the beginning and the end of the row seem to increase by two EVERY OTHER ROW. I asked a friend and looking at the pattern, it seems that this would keep increasing for the whole length and become a triangle of sorts, instead of a rectangle. Please help?
Hello! I wanted to ask you if your needle size is 6.5mm/ US10.5? It looks like the needle your using is smaller like maybe an US 8. I was just curious to know if your working with a smaller needle size?
PLEASE HELP. I’m new to knitting. I have a problem. I have a project that requires an m1. MC: chain 3 Row 1: k1, m1, k1, m1, k1 How do I make the m1? I can’t get to the middle bar piece with only 3 chains below. Am I missing something?
How do you fix a mistake when it comes to the chevron? What if I mess up the stitch that is front to back? What if I mess up on the increase or decrease? Please help
With deep breaths; Use stitch markers to mark out each repetition of 14sts in the pattern so you know when the reps begin and end. You should also be counting in your head and not mindlessly knitting until you have the pattern memorized. As with any knitting pattern, a mistake usually warrants two options. You either unknit each stitch off of the right needle and back onto the left until you arrive just before your mistake. If it is an invisible mistake, you can cheat and overcompensate by strategic placement of yo (yarn over) to give an extra stitch if the issue seems that you notice you've lost one. OR k2tog (knit two sts together) to loose a stitch if you seem to have too many. K2tog and yo are stopgaps when you are feeling too lazy to carefully unknit your work backwards. The decrease and increase must be placed exactly above your mistake otherwise it won't "hide" as well. Stopgaps are suitable for personal knitting in small gauges but be careful if you are gifting or using bulky yarn. Check your work and count your sts always.
I keep trying out this pattern. When I do it with the video, I get it but with the written I don't have the last 2 stitches and I count 31 stitches. What am I doing wrong?
I understand Crochet is your main craft These written knit instructions are incorrect Using a 30 sts sample …this particular Pattern should read: Row 1 (WS) P all Row 2 (RS) K1, KFB, *K4, S1 K1 PSSO, K2tog, K4, KFB twice. Rep from * to last 12 sts K4, S1 K1 PSSO, K2tog, K4, KFB, K1 TRADITIONAL CHEVRON METHOD Row 1 (WS) P all Row 2 (RS) K1, *KFB, K4, S1 K1 PSSO, K2tog, K4, KFB* Rep from * to* the number of pattern repeats (14 stitch multiples) you’d like …end row with K1
I know i won't get an answer here but is there a written pattern for this. Cause I can't seem to find the repeat in this at all. If I wanted to do a full blanket I don't know where it repeats, where it starts and where it ends
The pattern is listed in the video and in the video description. On straight needles it is self-repeating on 14sts and 2rows. So if you wanted a wider scarf or panel just multiply using the equation (14 x n) +2 = X sts where n is the number of chevron points you want to get the width, and X is the total stitches you need to cast on. Always use multiples of 14, then add 2 for the edge. Hope this helps you and anyone else.
your the ONLY ONE who shows how to bind off in pattern, to get the similar effect at the end. Thank you! you are a smart cookie.
You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you!
Great I'm going to recommend to my daughter who is learning
A great teacher, thank you very much for your easy instructions. Love to you.
It is very well explained, thank you. I think I would place stitch markers between each pair of increase stitches, and each decrease stitches

Thank you so much for this tutorial. Chevron is a lot easier than I thought.
I made this into a shawl using much larger needles 👍 I trimmed with a picot crochet trim.
This is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the step by step tutorial.

Wonderful clear explanation. Thank you 🧶🙋
Thank you for sharing this! What a cool design and it looks so nice with the yarn you chose. I love that the bond off mirrors the other side. 😉
Jus found your tutorial...and started a scarf for a gift and I LOVE IT...you are so right...a few rows and you have it...great instructions...thx u!❤

Very pretty thank you! I can see this being a lace too. ^_^

If I want to do stripes, cast on 142 for toddler blanket, how many rows per strip do you recommend for 5 color changes ? Thanks !

How many stitches would I cast on for a 30x 30” baby blanket and for a 12” wide scarf in worsted weight yarn?
Where can I see printed pattern
Where are the written instructions to bind off?
I was advised not to use a slip not by a friend who has been knitting for many years and I prefer not to now.
I am stuck. I followed the 30 stitches and when I started the second purl row I had 33 stitches, is there an increase I need to skip?
Oops. I answered my own question... I was skipping a k2tog
Where is the written pattern
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why stitch purl and turn the whole project around as opposed to just stitching knit and staying on the same side?
I understand Crochet is your main craft
These written knit instructions are incorrect
