Hi Alex. Not wanting to teach your grandmother to suck eggs but a quick insight into moles. 1 mole will have anywhere between 200 to 400 metres of tunnels that he or she will spend 4 hours patrolling and then 4 hours sleeping . The larger mole hills you will normally find in winter because the food source (worms) go deeper to get out of the cold soil so little moley digs deeper to find them.they are totally solitary creatures apart from mating and having young offspring. A lot of people think they have dozens on their land but it might only be 1 or 2 😊
Not teaching grandmothers to suck eggs at all Dave i didn't know any of that - good knowledge and much appreciated - I shall look at these fields with different eyes! 🙏😁

@@HolzHammerSagas yes, they are my absolute favourites and I’ve been lucky enough to find about half a dozen of these little works of art over the years.
Another great day Alexander! That Saxon was a real beauty! Re' Moles: some of their dirt hills are very large and have a nest chamber below them, lined with soft vegetation. All the best, John.
I didn't know that John - good knowledge - people use to be very keen on getting on top of them didn't they? They don't at all here and I don't think they bother anyone - I like it that way! Hope all well!

I know - funnily enough Belinda its better then than when io cleaned it - the sand seemed to bring out the definition more. But its very silvered still; the Antoninianus was supposed to be a double denarius ... but with a lot less silver! Hope all well!

Filled to the brim with all sorts of thigs which would prob be bettter in a box - I find it hard to throw anything away Darren!! Hope all well and thank you for the kind comments!!! All the Best, Alexander
I am John but I am becoming a victim of my own success - see the comments in my last video ... two m*r*ons have been accusing me of planting finds as "its not possible to find stuff like that every week"!!! It shouldn't annoy me but it does.... maybe I will have to do more videos of the days when I find nothing - plenty of them still! 😁 But they don't go down well and they aren't much fun to edit eiether! Anyway let people think what they want ... Hope all well!!!!
@@HolzHammerSagas You don't need to react to or change anything for two unappreciative, clueless individuals. You have thousands of loyal, interested followers. You could, however, offer to use your machine to see if they have more than one brain cell that operates effectively. That may not work though, as they would probably resort to planting a few before you arrived, as they seem to know all about putting things where they don't exist.
Heeey Mate! me and my wife watch u for so long, finally we start making our own videos. We love your finds, and different approach :) Happy hungint and salute from south of Europe!
Hey Alex. 👋🏻😃 I’m always wary of the bigger horses as they can get too friendly and trample your gear or worse, you!! Congrats Alex, on the Saxon. I’ve wondered about you not finding a sceatta, well, only one. I guess that shows how uncommon they must be. Very enjoyable (and educational), as usual. Cheers Wayne
Great video Alexander. I'm in awe of your fields ... absolutely brilliant. I didn't know about the Saxon sleeve cuff clasps. I'm wary of horses too, I didn't used to be until one day, one spun around & tried to kick my head off with its hind legs 😮

Great video as always Alex. I'm allowed to put you on the big screen. My wife had a fit of the giggles when you mentioned the big horse! Cheers for now.
Another great video I’ve been in a field with horses eight it’s a bit intimidating I can say but they soon got board bullets and tail end of motor bombs as I’m very close to the Kent coast keep them coming as very enjoyable to watch shaune in Kent 👍🐎🐎
I have thought about this a lot Stefan - it doesn't interest me one jot seeing other people showing trash so I presumed others don't want to see mine... someone once suggested i show it to prove i find it and that I am not just planting stuff!!!!! That put me off as i feel i shouldn't have to 'Prove" anything!!! So I wont Im afraid you will just have to imagine the mountains of rubbish you know we all find! Hope all well!
That skeet is amazing! You don't need to have two cameras on you. I think you would get by great with one and one for closeups. I am glad you had Tasci in this video. I certainly have missed his fuzzy face.
I have always used more than one camera Cyndye, it gives the chance to be more creative esp while editing - which can be mind numbiblgy boring - and is probaly the ONE thing that sets me apart from every other metal detecting channel!!!! Until someone else starts doing it - I don't always do it usually when i find something nice and I dont mind setting up; that bit definitely gets quicker! big boy Alex is afraid of one big horse, lol. I do go on horses pastures, and they are very intrigued come close even galloping, check and then go back grazing...
😎 More cracking finds. The soil is just great. I have to contend with clay which requires more offsite careful cleaning. Out tomorrow…..wish me luck. Cheers
Alexander great finds and a brilliant video as always. I was speaking to a fellow detectorist the other day he was on the d1 hf coil , he asked about my d2 falsing on iron , I don’t think they false on iron once you get used to the machine and tones what are your thoughts now you have got used to it? I have found some very nice bits in iron infested ground that most machines would not sort the wheat from the chaff. You are the best UA-camr keep them videos coming!!! Dan, Norfolk uk
Thanks Dan and I think you hit the nail on the head -I think it's just a matter of getting used to a multi frequency machine having come from the Deus 1 which is obviously single frequency you just have to get used to all that Iron falsing don't you but it does become clearer! Hope all well with you and thanks for watching! All the best, Alexander
Some amazing finds well done.Iv just got a Deus 2 now after having a Deus 1 for years.Going out Sunday with it looking forward to seeing what it can find 👍
Good stuff Nick - be a bit prepared to a bit of a different machine - not as much as everyone says I think its mainly the amount of iron falsing you have to get used to when using MF... its good fun though I now quite like it!!!! Good luck let me know how you get on!

@@HolzHammerSagas yes, they are my absolute favourites and I’ve been lucky enough to find about half a dozen of these little works of art over the years.
Have you Mick? Good work! @@mickdavis8521
Another great day Alexander! That Saxon was a real beauty! Re' Moles: some of their dirt hills are very large and have a nest chamber below them, lined with soft vegetation. All the best, John.
Country man thumbs up
I didn't know that John - good knowledge - people use to be very keen on getting on top of them didn't they? They don't at all here and I don't think they bother anyone - I like it that way! Hope all well!

A fantastic field to detect on. Overwhelming amount of Saxon and Roman coins. Great finds produced for your time spent. Good to see you again, Alex. Always enjoy your videos. Enjoy the weekend and week ahead, and see you on the next. Cheers Alex! 🇬🇧👍🙂🇺🇸
Thanks Martin it is just such fun when we have days like that we are very lucky over here - do you ever get to come over?
@@HolzHammerSagas With ALS, I’m in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future. Been in the UK from 1993-2000 for visiting.

What amazing coins and the dress clip too. I can't get over how detailed that last roman coin is!
I know - funnily enough Belinda its better then than when io cleaned it - the sand seemed to bring out the definition more. But its very silvered still; the Antoninianus was supposed to be a double denarius ... but with a lot less silver! Hope all well!
Just wow what a great selection of finds again. Well done on finding another sceat, they’re really nice coins to find. Your finds cabinet must be filled to the brim. Keep up the good work Alexander all your effort and time really does make your channel the best out there 👌
Filled to the brim with all sorts of thigs which would prob be bettter in a box - I find it hard to throw anything away Darren!! Hope all well and thank you for the kind comments!!! All the Best, Alexander
Hi Alexander. Your nervous system is going to be shot if your finds continue to get better every week. Ride the good fortune while it lasts.
Good stuff I will watch some of your vids! Hope all well down there is it warming up?
Hey Alex. 👋🏻😃 I’m always wary of the bigger horses as they can get too friendly and trample your gear or worse, you!! So many great finds and I love you beaming back to HQ!! 😃 Very interesting about the wrist clasp for hot Saxon birds!! Absolutely amazing eclectic sceat!! Thanks for sharing, take care and be lucky. 😃👍🏻
Thanks for watching Deano - I am a bit nervous of getting trampled - glad you are too! 😁 Hope all well!
G'day Alexander mate. Thanks for sharing your finds and stories most enjoyable. Must be an interesting alarm not a boring one on your camera 😂. I've got a lot of catching up to do on your interesting videos. Give you know who a pat, hope you're all well. 👍✌️🦘🇦🇺🦘
Will do Allan - hope all well!!! 😁
Another great group of finds, well done, I’m the same with horses , no trust in them , keep the videos coming 👍👍
Me neither trust wise with horses Graham!
Congrats Alex, on the Saxon. I’ve wondered about you not finding a sceatta, well, only one. I guess that shows how uncommon they must be. Very enjoyable (and educational), as usual. Cheers Wayne
Yep, only one Wayne!!! I have found one more in nearly 15 years detecting .. 😁 Hope all well!
Super video, Alex! Your permissions are simply incredible! Can't wait for the next one.
I am very lucky Chris! Hope all well and thanks for watching!
Great video Alexander.
I'm in awe of your fields ... absolutely brilliant.
I didn't know about the Saxon sleeve cuff clasps.
I'm wary of horses too, I didn't used to be until one day, one spun around & tried to kick my head off with its hind legs 😮
You are kidding Gary??!!! My God lucky you for catching it in time, phew! I wouldnt even consider going near them if I had experienced that and you have made me even more nervous!!!!!! 😂
Some lovely finds again Alexander.
Best wishes.
Thanks 140! Best wishes too and hope all well!
@HolzHammerSagas Yes, all's well, thank you.
Alexander apologies for being late ,due to waterlogged fields and work haven’t been out for nearly four weeks ‘ your weekly videos and finds table at HQ keep my dreams alive of finding a James 1 st gold Spur Ryal😂

Great video as always Alex. I'm allowed to put you on the big screen. My wife had a fit of the giggles when you mentioned the big horse! Cheers for now.
Ha! It really is a big one its a shire horse of sorts!!!!! And it bites men apparently! 😂 Hope all well Nick thanks for watching!
That pasture is a dream. More lovely bits! Cheers.
Thanks RICP - I feel i have got to take it really steady there now... Hope all well!
Great stuff as usual Alex. another good session with some history learnt too. thanks for sharing my friend 👍
Thanks for watching Jason!
Another great video I’ve been in a field with horses eight it’s a bit intimidating I can say but they soon got board bullets and tail end of motor bombs as I’m very close to the Kent coast keep them coming as very enjoyable to watch shaune in Kent 👍🐎🐎
Thanks Shaune and thanks for the horse tips! 😁
This is my weekly favourite i look forward to the next episode all week .
I am really Glad - thank you! 🙏😁
Great finds Alexander getting to grips with machine all the best
Thanks Bobby! Hope all well with you!
Absolutely magnificent👌
Thanks Hammy! 🙏
That sceat is stunning, Alexander! You're obviously finding a lot of trash too - how about showing us at the end of a dig some time?
I have thought about this a lot Stefan - it doesn't interest me one jot seeing other people showing trash so I presumed others don't want to see mine... someone once suggested i show it to prove i find it and that I am not just planting stuff!!!!! That put me off as i feel i shouldn't have to 'Prove" anything!!! So I wont Im afraid you will just have to imagine the mountains of rubbish you know we all find! Hope all well!
Smashing finds once again, thanks for sharing man 👍
Not at all Edanz - thanks for watching!
Interesting vblog Uncle Alex 😊 remember to search those mole heaps .
You have some interesting land 🎉
I know you keep telling me sooty!!! Hope all well!
Hi Alex..once again another cool video with some amazing finds, cracking roman and hammered coins..cheers Kev..👍
Thanks Kev! 🙏 Hope all well with you and nice to hear from you! All the Best!
Hope all well and thanks as always for watching - love me and Tasc!
Well done Alex, another great day securing our nations history with some lovely finds.
Got to say, your whole technique is like poetry. You have a great economy of movement, not one wasted spade thrust or coil sweep. Marvelous stuff!
Thanks Origins! I seem to have an unusal digging technique as others have commented on it before... it just comes naturally! Hope all well and thank you for the kind comments!😁🙏 All the Best!
great finds, commentary and funny :) liked the 'boring camera' jest
Ha! Thanks Derek I cant switch the boring alarm off ... I cant find where it is but it happens after about 5 mins! 😁 Hope all well and thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas it adds to the drama not knowing where it is :) All is good this side, I found my first gold coin to day and to make it extra special, it was stuck to another, 2 half sovereigns. I've only been detecting for a year so this is unbelievable. I hope you dont mind the share, thank sfor the information from HQ and the entertainment in between, best wishes, Derek
Alex l hope you are detecting the mole Hills after flattening them down I've found many a roman coin in them.!! Enjoying the vids as always

Very nice days finds Alex, glad Bessy behaved but those moles have infested that field !
They sure have - they don't bother anyone so are left to their own devices!!! 😂 Hope all well Steve!

Would love yo see your Celtic Lead Dragon!!
Hope all is good!!
The dragon ... so funny I was convinced, but it was early days and i was hardly listening to those who said "lead blob" as of course i knew better... I dont know where it is but i bet I still have it somewhere as I find it hard to throw things away! It is definitely a lead blob and a very obviuos one too!
hope all well Tim and good to hear from you!
wow that’s just too kewl as always! thanks for sharing and hope to get to your side of the pond one day. horses are most always friendly but i had one sneak up behind me and bit the be jesus out of me and then wanted to push me a bit. it stopped after hollering but keep an 👁️ on em.
Very good advice BC - thank you! I thinkits right to be a bit careful unless you know them well or are very horsey which I am not! 😁
great finds Alex
Thanks Dazza and nice to hear from you!

Thanks Kaare! 😁
big boy Alex is afraid of one big horse, lol. I do go on horses pastures, and they are very intrigued come close even galloping, check and then go back grazing...
Carnute this one is a shire horse and it bites people! 😂
Amazing preservation of those finds! Great video Alexander.
Thanks Rob! 🙏😁 And hope all well!
Thanks again Always learn so much. 👍🏻

😎 More cracking finds. The soil is just great. I have to contend with clay which requires more offsite careful cleaning. Out tomorrow…..wish me luck. Cheers
We get a lot of clay in East Herts too Warren - sticky stuff! Good luck today!
All the best, Alexander
fantastic video thanks for sharing
Not at all SSSUK thanks for watching!
An epic area for finds. Nice video.
Thanks Paul!!!
Evening Mr Timemachine!😊
Evening Mark! Hope all well! 😁
@@HolzHammerSagas thanks mate appreciate it 👍
The Roman coin, is the exact same as the first Roman coin I ever found :)
Really SuperC - very good! The first or the last? I think the first is quite unusual... Hope all well!

Hi Alex me and partner love watching your videos and your finds which are amazing I might say but we also like it when you go back to headquarters and give all the info on what you find but that is were my question is for the magnifying lamp that you use I was just wondering were I could buy one can't seem to find one that big of a lense so any help would be grateful another amazing video on a amazing permission keep the videos coming good luck and happy hunting 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thank you very much Daryl thats much appreciated !!! You never disappoint with your marvelous finds. Btw: could that be a grave mount in the background (@26:00)? It seems to have the right dimensions...
Its def something Herbert - differing opinions but looks a bit like a BA barrow... very little immediately around it interestingly... Hope all well!

Hey Al... is that the 11 or 13 inch coil you're using - hard to tell from Tucson. ✌️
Ha! 😁 Its the 11 " Richard - hope all well over there - whats the weather like this time of year?
@@HolzHammerSagas Al....Normally the weather is in the 60s most of the time with periods of 70s and when our winter rains drop in it's in the 50s for a few days and drops to the 30s at night. I see, however I believe with Patron you can offer slightly different things that would pique peoples interests.. Well certainly would mine... As in sneak previews of new videos... Or a patron only video in HQ where you show your favourite 50 Roman coins.. OR rarest hammered. Or favourite finds. They could be quick videos that only patrons get to see. your videos are very engaging and often leave me feeling like I want to spend hours looking through your entire collection.

I’m not convinced that “not that bad” is a great recommendation for a horse’s temperament really. Reminds me of something I read recently where a vet asserted that horses are only interested in two things, homicide and suicide. Perhaps best to remain cautious!
