  • Part 2 of one of the best days of this season. After skiing Passerelle couloir you have two options (unless you want to fly!), you can take the exit couloir of the Glacier Rond, or you can take the much more exposed and technical West couloir option. This involves traversing right above the infamous hanging serac of the glacier Rond and climbing a short subsidiary couloir. From here a short absail leads into the bowels of the West Couloir of the Aiguille du Midi, above its crux choke point. After a few steep tight turns (watch out for the sluff!) it opens out into a fantastic atmospheric hidden couloir which can be enjoyed all the way down to the traverse line back to the mid station, just dont hang around below the afore mentioned serac of the Glacier Rond! And also beware of avalanches from above at all times, it is a spectacular but dangerous place to be.

Wow, I know the camera never does any justice but watching you ski that, it feels mega steep. Epic dude!

Amazing, must take a lot of skills and a big set of balls to get down there.

by chamonix standards its not that steep, just very committing and you need your wits about you for all the sluff and avalanche risk from above!
