Large pigs are very difficult to care for. I love pigs and would wish to own one possibly one day but I live in an apartment most pigs would not be happy long term in an apartment especially because most of them grow very big and there’s hardly space for the big guy 🐖 :(
bath time recommendation: I have a mini pig and she stays calm during her shower because I get into the shower with her to make her feel more safe that way she doesn’t scream or anything she will just let me wash her! been doing that since I got her your pig is so cute.
I have been told the best way to keep them calm is to smear peanut butter on the side of your bathtub during bath time 🤣🤣. Have not tried it yet, but we were told this by a breeder.

Just a tip for bath time: Bath time might not ever be easy but I can offer some tips that might help just a little. Put a towel down in the tub/sink (wherever you’re washing your piggy) this helps them from slipping. Get in the tub with them it helps them feel safe for this step you can’t be scared of a little pig poop.. my pig has pooped on me in the bath multiple times. Feed them in the tub. Raisins, whole grain Cheerios, pig treats if you have them whatever your pig enjoys. This helps them understand that bath time doesn’t have to be traumatizing. Take it slow don’t rush them. Don’t drench them with soap and water as soon as they get in. Maybe play with the water and while they are enjoying their snacks put a little bit of water on them and work your way up. Hope this helps

I mean it depends what you're looking for. Mine lives outside and it's super convenient. And she loved it outside. Just spend some time bonding every day and she's very happy.

Alot of piglets get very frightened at being picked up. They say that the best way to calm them down and keep them from squealing is to support their legs with your arm while you have them picked up so their legs aren't dangling, that helps them feel more secure

I have two mini pigs. One is a Pot Bellied/Juliana mix and the other is a Kunini. All the reasons you have mentioned about NOT getting a mini pig are actually reasons why you should! The reasons you gave can literally be applied to dogs and cats. Might as well change this title to 7 reasons why NOT to get a pet at all. In any event, having a mini pig is work, but the rewards are worth it. Both my girls bring me so much joy and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I also have 5 cats and one dog. They all get along and my house is one big crazy zoo, but again, wouldn't change it for the world. Also, my solution for the water being on the floor? Put the bowl on a rubberized mat, or what I did was I bought feeders and have them clipped to their pens. They can't knock it over LOL.

Joining the mini pig groups on facebook saved my life, you should join them i learned a bunch of tricks for my mini that made life way easier, once they turn 3 or 4 they become a whole new pig, their terrible 2 phase is the worse, but i still tell everyone to never get a mini pig 😂
Their terrible two phase? What do they do? Tear up things around the house? That's a shame, because it seems that in many ways they are great pets to have. For the terrible two thing you mentioned, I guess though that you do need to get them at your own risk 😂
100% NO!! And there is no such thing as a "mini pig". People get scammed into thinking these pigs will stay "miniature". There are many breeders that will claim that with the proper diet they can stay at 50lbs. This is a lie in order to sell to people. The TRUTH is that the abused piglet will be purposely malnourished to almost the point of starvation in order to disrupt proper development, stunted growth being one of the horrible side effects. Many of these pigs get abandoned as they grow to 150-250 lbs. They are large animals that are commonly destructive in homes as they get bored and or stressed and NEED proper space, activities, and companionship. Without these they become highly stressed and then people end up abandoning them. Unless you own a farm and are looking for a pig do NOT buy these animals. They are not house pets for just anybody and chances are almost certain that you will end up abandoning them. Do not support this scam industry that put out a lot of misinformation in order to profit and please do not support the vile mistreatment and outright abuse of animals.
Our baby girl Fizgig is our life ❤❤. She's housebroke, litter trained, & sweet as can be. And talk about a cuddle bug!! Always in your lap or like you said, in your bed under the binkies 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

I don’t want a feeder pig, and pot bellies I’ve sadly had to work with and they can get up to my waist.. hogs are too aggressive and I wouldn’t trust one near my kids. Any advice would be very appreciated. I want a pig because some can live 25-30 years but they are too big, some can be 20 years but those are hogs and can be aggressive(I don’t want to take the chance of that) your piggy seems the perfect size and acts like a pit pull. I owned pit bulls and they were very family oriented and hate being picked up. Would squirm out of anyone’s arms but me. Tuck it’s tail and just except master wanted “baby in a basket”. Not saying they will be little tanks that bend to my whim, but the intelligence part is why I want a pig. Also I know some types are territorial and will guard the drove. Especially females who are more explosive. Both seem to know their family but females more dangerous when guarding. I know a guard pig sounds ridiculous but do you know what breed of pig is best for the family? For dogs my go to is a pit bull, I’ve had a lab and a pit, husky, and chow and the pit was by far the most family friendly and also scariest.. not that it broke any rules but the amount of deer it brought to the house was startling

No, I mean like I’m not trying to be rude. You say pigs don’t like to be held but if you train them right and socialize them when their young they love to be held and cuddled. Also the bed and blanket stealing is because pigs have issues regulating body temperature all you have to do is buy them their own. Some of these issues sounded unfixable and discouraging to viewers. In terms of privacy child lock things. You said mini pigs are dirty but that isn’t true at all. Don’t put pigs in a bath tub full of water that’s terrifying for them. Lay a towel or a mat down on the bathtub floor as well so they don’t slip and slide around. The water can easily be too cold for the pig as well, make it a temperature that you could enjoy (it won’t burn them if it wouldn’t burn you). Maybe you do know what you’re talking about, maybe offer more solutions to the problems to prove experience and knowledge?
Bob Loblaw I was raised around pigs and now have my own 2 month old pot belly pig. No matter what you do pigs will never enjoy being picked up. They might stop screaming bloody murder but every once in awhile they will squirm, squeal, and try to get out of your hand. (Squealing is very different than screaming) I pick my baby pig up every day multiple times a day to take him outside since he is too small to get down the steps to the grass and even after a little over a month still has bad days. She didn’t say the pig is dirty she said bath time is a struggle which is true even with warm water, and a towel so you will be less likely to clean them since bath time is difficult.
this brokes my heart knowing people just buys them when they are piglets but then..just give them back when they are older and bigger.
Will still have her and she’s older and bigger, we would never get rid of her :)

Usually the size of an English bulldog. About15 inches or so tall. Roughly about 50 or 60 lb. Just like an English bulldog.
I own one as my is full grown and he’s not that big but no he’s not small like a cat tho

My mini pig just died today June 11th 2020 I think she had a tumor or idk but she kept screaming all day. I missed her SO SO MUCH

@@StephanieMoratto are there different breeds? I tried looking and I guess I’m horrible at looking up breeds of pig. Might also be my area, I get different type of slaughter pig.. I don’t want a feeder pig, and pot bellies I’ve sadly had to work with and they can get up to my waist.. hogs are too aggressive and I wouldn’t trust one near my kids. Any advice would be very appreciated. I want a pig because some can live 25-30 years but they are too big, some can be 20 years but those are hogs and can be aggressive(I don’t want to take the chance of that) your piggy seems the perfect size and acts like a pit pull. I owned pit bulls and they were very family oriented and hate being picked up. Would squirm out of anyone’s arms but me. Tuck it’s tail and just except master wanted “baby in a basket”. Not saying they will be little tanks that bend to my whim, but the intelligence part is why I want a pig. Also I know some types are territorial and will guard the drove. Especially females who are more explosive. Both seem to know their family but females more dangerous when guarding. I know a guard pig sounds ridiculous but do you know what breed of pig is best for the family? For dogs my go to is a pit bull, I’ve had a lab and a pit, husky, and chow and the pit was by far the most family friendly and also scariest.. not that it broke any rules but the amount of deer it brought to the house was startling

No, I mean like I’m not trying to be rude. You say pigs don’t like to be held but if you train them right and socialize them when their young they love to be held and cuddled. Also the bed and blanket stealing is because pigs have issues regulating body temperature all you have to do is buy them their own. Some of these issues sounded unfixable and discouraging to viewers. In terms of privacy child lock things. You said mini pigs are dirty but that isn’t true at all. Don’t put pigs in a bath tub full of water that’s terrifying for them. Lay a towel or a mat down on the bathtub floor as well so they don’t slip and slide around. The water can easily be too cold for the pig as well, make it a temperature that you could enjoy (it won’t burn them if it wouldn’t burn you). Maybe you do know what you’re talking about, maybe offer more solutions to the problems to prove experience and knowledge?
Bob Loblaw I was raised around pigs and now have my own 2 month old pot belly pig. No matter what you do pigs will never enjoy being picked up. They might stop screaming bloody murder but every once in awhile they will squirm, squeal, and try to get out of your hand. (Squealing is very different than screaming) I pick my baby pig up every day multiple times a day to take him outside since he is too small to get down the steps to the grass and even after a little over a month still has bad days. She didn’t say the pig is dirty she said bath time is a struggle which is true even with warm water, and a towel so you will be less likely to clean them since bath time is difficult.
