Hi guys! In this video I'm sharing a simple DIY homemade deep conditioner for natural hair using 4 kitchen ingredients; yogurt, honey, apple cider vinegar and olive oil. You don't have to spend a fortune to sustain your hair. Customize with what you already have in your kitchen :-)
DuchessGabrielle I'm highly allergic to anything with milk!! so if you're like me, I want to add this to your great video....I cook some whole wheat pasta (any kind) for my protein treatment, still works great! very slippery lol
Amber Raglin , wow really ? Great idea! I didnt know wheat pasta has protein? is it same as fermented rice water which increases in protein the more it ferments?
@Kisha Clovey I agree. I am anemic and my hair is a little shorter than hers. I heard her say high porosity, which I have low porosity but I'm gonna try this anyway since I already have these ingredients
Today was wash day. Fresh out of conditioner. It's bank holiday....so I turned to UA-cam, typed something out and, "boom"! Stumbled upon your video. So I thought I'd give it a go seeing as you sounded quite convinced about this miracle 4 product DIY remedy. Lady, I'm never buying conditioner again! My hair hasn't felt sooo moisturised after a 'quick' wash day in a long long time! I'm in awe!! Really worked well on my type 4 hair. I do home brewing, so I used my kefir yoghurt, Kombucha vinegar (that really conc starter tea you have in your scoby hotels), extra virgin olive oil and of course, a good grade organic honey. And I also applied that concoction to my face as a mask, left it on until it dried and then washed it off. NOURISHMENT GALORE!!! Thanks for the share. Awesome stuff.
@@mkierra hey there! Haven't had the pleasure of trying it out with the Greek yogurt but seeing as wash dry is coming up soon, I'll be sure to test it out. That said, I would assume it would work as well, seeing as they're usually high in protein content, and the good bacteria in them gives us extra nutrition, scalp-wise. 😉
FINALLY...FINALLY...FINALLLYYY!!!! A 4C natural hair influencer. I've tried searching for 4c natural hair influencers so many times and I can only find people with general Type 4 hair. Thank you so much! I had to subscribe!
I appreciate the time you've taken to share an easy diy deep conditioner recipe. I like natural homemade products, believing that most things we need to maintain beauty and health can be found in our cupboards and fridge. You've confirmed it! Thank you!
Jesus was talking to me about adding two tablespoons of avc to my deep conditioner for thicker hair.. I thought it sounded soo weird but your video just confirmed that it’s not weird and can it be done.. thanks for uploading hun
Why is it that when the Lord tells us stuff it usually sounds way out there only for us to get to know we were silly not to trust him and that he is always right.
@Prayer Nation has your hair grown since you posted this comment ? There is nothing weird about hearing God's voice. I had that experience some time ago & I even have dreams about caring for my hair
@@missladyzee44 yes, it really does work! The acv cleanses the scalp making the environment on your scalp healthy with each wash. In return you can grow healthier fuller hair. The key is being Consistent with your washes and conditioning.
I just took my braids out and I literally just paused this video to go do this and my curls are poppin! I only thing that I didn't have was the honey (couldn't find it lol) but got the same results
Low porosity Hair- (Most 4 hair types) If you have low porosity hair, it means the structure of your hair doesn't easily allow moisture to be absorbed into your hair shaft.

Yes, absolutely. Sour cream is just fermented milk and should work just as well as yogurt. Actually that just gave me an idea don't know why I never thought to try sour cream. Huh! Thanks
Yes, I prefer a new batch every time I make it. I usually make it before bed and leave it out overnight so it's room temperature when I apply the next morning. I have frozen leftovers for about a week but very rarely
I don't remember the brand but it really doesn't matter. I use full-fat greek yogurt. Juts make sure there are no additives like sugar or flavors. I'm currently using the Dannon brand and I like it.
itsCHIDI if you’re going to deep condition it is best to do so after you have already washed/co washed your hair and if you do rinses like tea, acv, or rice- it’s best to do it after those as well. It’ll most likely be the last step in your wash day. The moisture intake won’t be good if you’re doing a deep conditioning treatment on dirty hair because the dirt will not allow the treatment to penetrate your strands as well as if you were to do it on freshly washed/cleansed hair
@RafaRules so you're saying to do the deep conditioning AFTER washing your hair THEN do a acv rinse then condition it ? I'm just trying to learn the steps
@@missladyzee44 personally I like to do my rinses before I deep condition. Deep conditioning is the last step for me on wash day. Regular conditioning should just be done after you shampoo
Amla would be considered more of a vitamin than a protein because amla as a fruit is among the highest concentrations of vitamin C we know. I have low porosity hair and it's one of my eternal favorite muds. I combine with fenugreek, brahmi, maka and hibiscus for a super pack but amla certainly works even when used alone
Hi Mrs Duchesses I just recently comb out my dreadlocks I came across your UA-cam page diy deep conditioner my ? Is what type of shampoo did you use to wash the conditioner out
Hey Sandi! Yes, Jojoba is very similar to sebum. It's also very pricey so I would recommend using it directly on the scalp by creating a scalp serum instead of applying it on the strands. It's more effective and cost efficient that way. But if it's not too pricey for you it's definitely a great oil for haircare. Hope that makes sense
@Duchess Gabrielle so are you saying not to mix the Jojoba oil instead of the evoo as you did in your video ? Or not to apply it on the scalp as well as the strands ?
Can someone tell me how people come up with these ingredients? (Are they just googling and then come up with their own kitchen ideas)?...They seem so well spoken and talk a good game, but are these You Tubers Chemists, Scientists, in order to quote so many things about the formulation of what makes up hair and what is needed to maintain the hairs health, shine, etc....?

Instead of using apple cider vinegar (which I feel dries out the hair), I use tea tree oil which does greatness to my scalp 😊

How? Are you lactose intolerant
Instead of Yogurt can I use shea butter?
Hello, do you have to put apple cider vinegar in the mix. Does the mixture still work well without it?

What kind of yoghurt can u use? Greek yoghurt? Plain normal yoghurt? Because some of them are watery.
Can I keep the remainder of the mixture in the fridge? I made too much so have quite a bit left over.
Put it in a Ziploc bag in the freezer. Next condition day just take it out and put the bag in water to thaw it up
Now this is 4c 👏🏾👏🏾

Virgin hair fertilizer

Love the video! I don't have plain yogurt...Can vanilla yogurt be used?
Queen Toshe She said substitute for coconut milk or just buy the yoghurt when you can
