So basically this was caused not necessarily by the candle but the misuse of the candle. It's kinda like saying don't buy a car because it can go 120 MPH into a wall. If you don't drive at 120 that won't happen either. The only time I've had a candle produce a noticeable amount of soot is the cheap ones or if the wick is waaaay to long. My family has burnt candles for years and have never noticed this problem.
CANDLE'S SMOKE itself is bad for your lungs. You may not see the effects outside but it does happen INSIDE your body. but if you've been burning candles for years you probably have the same lungs as a smoker.
Heavy Breathing Cat then why don’t we have smoker symptoms.Like extreme coughing or no signs of lung cancer.Yeah exactly open the window to let equal amounts of fresh air and scent also in.And why aren’t we in the hospital like smokers with lung cancer are? Exactly your an idiot
Forty Two not all candles produce soot into the air.. deoends on the wick & wax used. if its a cheap crap one then yes your house will fill with the black soot, but if its one like from Chillaxing Melts, Candles & Body Products then no that won't happen
Just wonderful, I've been looking for "can you use food coloring for candles?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Panlijah Inconceivable Position - (search on google ) ? It is a smashing exclusive guide for discovering how to become a candle making master and turn a profit minus the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
You should never burn a candle more that 3 hours (4 hours max depending on the candle). You should also trim your candle wick to 1/4 of an inch to prevent soot.
This is just superb, I been tryin to find out about "how many candles can you make with 50 lbs of wax?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Panlijah Inconceivable Position - (search on google ) ? It is a great one of a kind guide for discovering how to become a candle making master and turn a profit without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my friend got excellent success with it.
I stopped burning candles and my daughter stuffy nose went away permanently. She would always have one and no matter what we gave her for it , it never went away. Until I stopped burning candles. Some things are just not for everybody.
There's a warning label on the candle for a reason. The candle was probably ok. If she read the label, this probably wouldn't have been an issue...a properly made and properly used candle is perfectly safe.
Painters out there know about people who burn lots of candles, because the ceiling and walls often get a light coat of soot/tar, like a cigarette smoker's house.
Thats what happens when you burn cheap paraffin candles. It should be soy or vegetable wax always. And it should be scented with 100% natural essential oils.
Soy candles are cheap. You can get shitty parafin or shitty soy. the only difference is that cheap soy smells like, you guessed it, burning soy, when burned, and that soy wax is messy and more oil-like than wax-like
Essential oils are not safe for candle use, just an FYI for anybody reading this. Some are toxic when burned. Some are flammable. Some are fatal to pets. Never use a candle with essential oils!
@@emruss1641 Stop spreading misinformation. Yes, some oils are not good for dogs and cats. You simply stay away from those if you have either. There are no essential oils that will catch fire in a candle, and there aren’t any harmful to humans used in candles. Most candles today are made of paraffin wax and synthetically scented which creates highly toxic benzene and toluene when burned (both are known carcinogens). In fact, the toxins released from paraffin candles are the same as those found in diesel fuel fumes and are linked to asthma and lung cancer.
@Consumer645 No shitty soy is comparable to paraffin. Bottom line is don’t buy cheap candles. Also I’ve already seen that whole video, if anything it just backs up my claims about paraffin.
I have been burning candles for 7-8 hours for many years and have never had or even heard of this problem. I would not think a candle could produce enough soot in the air to actually turn your nostrils black. I'm guessing the candle must have been very cheap and made with questionable ingredients and who knows what the wick is made out of. I also grew up in a household where candles were always burning everyday and this has never been an issue. If this happened in my situation I would throw away that candle and not burn it and get something that was better quality. I think this has more to do with the candle then the actual burn time because this NEVER happens when I burn my candles over the 4 hour period.
Marion Reid or the glade one from coles for $15 - does the same and is actually safer then scentsy as you can pick the top tray off to discard melted wax n wipe out.
I thought this was gonna be about the guy that posted a bunch about eating scented candles. I found this video on my search for his content. I heard it's pretty wild.
Recently I came across a candle with 2 different scents. It's a wonder of modern chemical engineering. Kinda expensive tho. From a certain distance it smells like orange and cinnamon. If you get closer it smells like burnt mustache.
Iv been making soy wax candles forc3yrs and have never seen this happen, although my candles dont omit black toxic smoke like the cheapy ones you buy from the $2 store. i use a 100% Cotton wick, propper candle fragrance, propper candle colour and CB135 Soy wax with added beeswax so thosecwith allergies and hayfever can enjoy the aroma.. maybe next time she'll read the label before using. those labels arent there for decoration
