I'm a manager at popeyes and I think what you experienced was way too much water in their noodle and Cheese sauce. We've been getting emails telling us to look out for it cause it can happen. It's not supposed to look like that. We bake ours with popeyes blended cheese sauce and real shredded cheddar on top. We then make sure that every full scoop gets cheese crust. Granted, it will still tasted different from 'Filet's, but its very good, coming from an expert Mac and cheese baker myself.Their just doing it wrong there.
You’re right. This one locations’s Mac and cheese had more water in it. I tried the Mac and cheese at Popeyes today and it looked more like the Chick-fil-A Mac and cheese. It actually tastes very similar

When it’s cooked right Popeyes Mac is 🔥..I like Chick-fil-A it’s good as well but my local Popeyes cooks it to perfection! 🤤 I’m hooked on it! 🤗

Chick-fil-A’s macaroni is soooo good. I don’t even bother getting fries with my meal there no more. I always substitute fries for macaroni. Been doing that since they came out with it! ♥️

Chick Fil A wins on looks alone. Popeye's looked like uncooked Scrambled egg mix with Macaroni Shells in it. Their Cookie looked delicious though.

I had the Popeyes mac & cheese 2 days ago and mine didn’t look like yours, it looked more like the Chick one with the crust of cheese on top. I thought it was delicious. 👍👍

I tried both a couple months ago. The one I had for Popeye's looked a lot better than yours. I loved them both, but actually preferred the flavors of Popeye's a little more.

I ordered the Mac n cheese twice from Popeyes in the same day . The first time I ordered it, it was creamy like the Mac m cheese you bought. When I ordered it again that evening it resembled the chick fil a Mac and cheese. The cheeses crust was more dark golden and the cream had condensed nicely. I think from now on when I go to Popeyes I will request that they cook it until the cheese browns nicely. The person who made yours and mine in the afternoon just didn’t cook it long enough.
Im eating that new mac n cheese from popeyes right now& its pretty damn good. Better than the previous & it wasnt soupy at all. I think it depends on the location
I agree. The location I went to had Mac and Cheese that looked similar to the Chick Fil A one. Whatever location he went to needs some guidance from better locations.

Popeyes employee here it's the same Mac and cheese we had before the only difference is that we now put shredded cheese on top and then bake it for like 6 minutes

If anyone wants to know the secret of the best baked Mac & cheese, it’s Philadelphia cream cheese. I make a cheese sauce with evaporated milk, philly cream cheese, mild, sharp, colby, S&P pour over noodles then top with medium cheddar before baking. I’ve switched up with different cheeses before but it’s always great as long as that philly cream cheese is in there 👌
Sounds like a Gordon Ramsay recipe. He likes the Philly cream cheese in his dips & sauces. (Lazy people like myself just use Velveeta boxed shells or macaronis.)
I think the Real key to a proper pasta is making it al dente (with bite). Nobody wants mush.
The best meal, slide to Popeyes and get the Chicken sandwich, move on over to Chick-fil-A get the Mac and cheese, roll up to Checkers/ Rally's for fries, then float down to Firehouse subs for that cherry limeade.

For the record, they also don't make their Mac & Cheese in house. Their Mac and Cheese comes from Park 100 Foods and it comes straight out of a bag. Goes into a tin pan and it gets topped with around 7.5 ounces of a Colby Jack and Mild Cheddar shredded cheese mix on top.

Keep in mind that every location is different. I was watching Timmy’s Takeout and his mac and cheese looked a lot more appetizing and idk about Chick Fil A.. I prefer my chicken and/or sides not to be made by the workers of a bigot! But that’s just my opinion 🤷♀️
