@@kenrickeason She needs potassium rich foods and magnesium rich foods. Try giving her fresh lemon juice squeezed into water. This whole message and you just speaking straight up and putting yourself out there is so admirable. And so helpful to every viewer, especially men of a certain age (I turned 50 last week dog). The realest of the real talk. It speaks to your character. Which is a good man. Hang tough big homie. You are loved.
I can only speak for myself... I'd watch you read the phone book... it's your personality that I like... the food review brought me in, it's your personality that I stay for. I also love the way my kids look at me when I say "that hits me right in the throatalicles". :) Keep being you and take care of yourself!

I wish nothing but the best for you my dude. You have great energy and I know you will land on your feet and maybe even better than you ever were now that you are taking care of yourself.
I remember when I first started watching your videos many years ago. I remember thinking "how long can he keep eating this stuff before he feels the consequences?" Glad to see you're taking better care of yourself now. Best of luck on your journey. Keep up the hard work!
Neuropathy, retinopathy, cardiac impairment... yep. I dig. Stave them off as long as you can. Keep an eye on those BGs and a1c. If I was able to do it, anyone can. Lost 100#, got my a1c back down to not-catastrophic levels, exercise more regularly. No retinopathy. Mild neuropathy. You got this. I know you do. ❤
I've brought my a1c from a 12 to a 6 in 3 months. I've made 1 real change and that's for my lunchtime at work i would grab a can of spaghetti and meatballs become its cheap. Well I've gotten frozen veggie pasta or broccoli and cheese, and a banana everyday. Also I've slacked down on pasta and switched to whole grain pasta.
I wish those Continuous Glucose Monitors were prescribed even if you dont have diabetes. They give such an amazing insight into how food affects your body. It really helps tell you what foods to avoid. Problem is they are pretty expensive if you get them on your own. Good luck bro

More importantly, sharing your journey and wisdom with the masses. It just takes one person to make a difference brother. It also takes a person who is starting to love themselves to realize and know they need to make changes. Sending positive vibes your way. 💪🏽
Been watching Daym Drops for a couple years now and this video is upfront and honest. It's so important to take care of yourself, I've stayed watching because of your personality and how each of your videos are entertaining. Stay safe out there and always take care of yourself.
Thanks Big Homie! I was just exactly as you put it....I was at 445lbs at one point. Didn't care about what I was doing to myself, then one day I had a stroke ended up in a hospital and was in a 3 month coma. Woke up and now lost 150 lbs but I have neverve damage to my entire right side of my body and can barley walk. Thank you for putting this out and letting your fans know the dangers of eating out of control. Be safe!
My uncle also had a stroke and lost his ability to control the left side of his body, leg and arm. He has since regained the ability to walk through physical rehab. Stay hopeful you will get back to 100 percent if you stay motivated.
Real Talk!! Thanks for being honest and transparent. D. Keep your head up and listen to your Doc. Consider getting a spin bike to help burn calories without tearing your knees and back up. Wishing you well. Luck has nothing to do with it.
You might have to start making keto friendly food reviews, which is difficult given the food landscape. Fasting and OMAD can also help level off sugar levels. You'd still get the massive spikes from the carb heavy food reviews though, but your averages would be better with fasting. Some people have put Type 2 diabetes into remission with keto and fasting.
This is really good information you're putting out there for others to learn from, diabetics sometimes don't want to face realities of their circumstances and you putting a spotlight on it surely will help some people. Good for you for putting yourself out there to help others.
I was over 400 lbs at my biggest and I’m now at 265 lbs with no surgery. The biggest things that helped me were calorie tracking and staying active. Intermittent fasting too. My eating window was 12pm-6pm. I played basketball almost every day for multiple hours a day for almost a year straight. I was also jogging and running. That was how I was staying active. One of the problem is most people just don’t like going to the gym, so what I did was something that I actually enjoyed doing, which was basketball. Also to add, I’m probably more athletic than the average person my size so that probably helped too. I was running a mile in under 10 minutes at a little under 400 lbs.
Keep going Fame Daym! I'm learning my lesson that out of control type 1 diabetes don't play around. I was on the libre 3 but had to change to the dexcom g7. It takes half the time to activate and it keeps you on your toes. I know I'm some random viewer, but if you need a witness on the after effect of not taking care yourself. Hit me up.
Good for you man. We need to start getting wise, you are being honest. Some creators are killing themselves because they cannot pay bills any other way.
Daym, please work on self ☮️💜 I'll be 58 in October, but when my mom passed, I was sad and depressed and this 140lb, 5'7 young lady had a heart attack 😩😥 take care of yourself. Make family your focus 💙💙 sending Peace, Love and Blessings my friend ☮️💜🙏🏽
Best wishes Daym. Stay mentally strong. I got bit by T2D 6mo ago and have a normal BMI. Def respect for bringing this to light on your platform. Everyone should get their A1C checked regularly.
I'm switching to the freestyle Libre 3 tomorrow...dealing with similar issues but I'm post kidney transplant. Meds jack with my sugar...I'm active, gym 3 times a week. We're about the same age...make those adjustments, stay active. I weigh 282 on a 6'4" frame. Keep fighting.
Thank you for being so open… went to the dr this Morning and she was saying the same thing maybe this is Gods way of telling me to listen and get my head out of my butt.
My brother, I’m glad to see you educate people especially black people. The reality is for people in general if we don’t control what goes in our mouths we will see not only diabetes, hypertension but now add kidney failure. That’s a whole new beast. Kidney failure combined with diabetes and or hypertension, now we are losing limbs, losing eye sight, now more advanced heart disease. Teach them brother.
Thank you for all of the content you've given us through the years Daym. You can review 1 chicken tender or 1 french fry or no food review at all. I can listen to you talk, and I'll still be here supporting you, my friend.

Although you had a blizzard, at least it was a small and not a bigger size. Even a small is super calorically dense and high in sugar. I still want to commend you for getting a small. It's not the best decision but better than the alternatives. Making small changes like portion contol, incorporating sugar free options, and exercising regularly is critical. Occasionally, treating yourself is okay, also.
Hang in there man. Thanks for putting your story out there. Possible Blindness, infections, amputations... not worth it. I hope you can turn it around and then tout your success 🙌🏾

I'm off one med, and I had to start cutting two others in half. So you got this! Keep it up!
I'm sorry to hear that
When you say fatty foods, which foods are you talking about?
Sorry about the car accident
@@amjan94 thanks. I'm not that bad off. I do still struggle to walk a bit, though
Did you feel it coming?
You’re the man Daym! Take care of yourself brother, your fans will be here. Thank you for keeping it real.
I’m an Emergency Room Nurse. I see it all the time the effects of not taking care of yourself. You got one life, thanks Daym for sharing. If one person makes a change you will have saved a life!
Appreciate the transparency Daym! Wishing you all the best!
love you saying when your `body starts talking to you` perfect way to put it. your body tells you when you gotta change
Stay Strong Buddy 😢
Hello Daym Drops !!! I just caught this video today 8-24. I'm 60 and diabetic also.... I take 1 metformin a day !!! Last A1C was 6.0 in June !! I have made changes in a lot of holiday food as well as regular food etc !!! It's real out here & thank you so much for sharing !!! One the BEST CONVERSATIONS GOING ON RIGHT NOW ❤❤❤❤❤
Always appreciate your candor and humor with things bro. We all got battles big & small to conquer, no matter the kind. We the same age so I relate in my own way. Blessings to you and the peeps who watch you here and everywhere 🙌🏾🙏🏽👏🏼👏🏼
I agree, Dames personality is why I watch, alot of people review foods but very few pull my attention.
This is spot on. I loved the Netflix show and watching his youtube videos. His personality is huge and so positive! I will watch whatever he does and want the best for him.
Yup! I said the same thing before. I don't care what he reviews. It's not the food it's the personality
I’m over 400 lbs. I was thinking I was done eating poorly before I watched this….but you helped me to confirm it so thank you Daym!
Metoo thanks for your honesty now I feel not alone
You can do it! I’ve lost about 100 pounds in a year. It’s not easy at first but it’s definitely doable.
I believe in you
Thank you, Big guy. I love seeing your work, and I love how real you are. Like you, I'm making changes in my own life and body, and I'm not a content creator, but I know how important it is to do so. So I want to say thank you for STILL being...SUPER OFFICIAL!
All facts bro
As a food creator this hit home. Thank you for this bro!
Daym,
Wanting you living your best life. Get under 300 and get towards 250 (If this is what you want). You got it man.
This video was 💯 truth, too much of the wrong foods will slowly kill you if you let it. I wish you the best bro
You have a great personality Daym. Full of life and Charisma. I am glad you are taking care of yourself. You're one of the great ones and can appreciate this video.
@@couchbookingwrestling4356 : Way to go! 🩸👍
I wish those Continuous Glucose Monitors were prescribed even if you dont have diabetes. They give such an amazing insight into how food affects your body. It really helps tell you what foods to avoid. Problem is they are pretty expensive if you get them on your own. Good luck bro
Wooooooooooooooooow!!!!!!! This video is going to become viral as fck just because it's super honest and shit this is a super dope video Dayme seriously the fact you opened up about this is crazy much respect .... I hope this goes viral
Mad respect for you Dame showing the ups and downs of the food game! Especially for the new up and coming young food reviews. Mad respect to you fam! Live to life my brother we need you here ♥️ ✌️
I remember when Daym Drops went on "Is it Cake?" Netflix. I enjoyed that episode!
That was epic
@@chew_tunes it was!
Which season?
@@nawal10Season 1. It was right after Fresh Fried and Crispy dropped on Netflix. They were cross promoting.
@@IkariPress ohh then I must've seen it and forgotten! Thanks
Well said, I think that what you did today is better than what you’ve done your entire utube reviews and not that I don’t enjoy your videos, but the fact that you would expose your personal battles with the world to help somebody else is amazing. I think highly of you, because there’s a lot of food reviewers are literally killing themselves doing these food reviews. I just hope they take your advice to heart. Keep your head up and so the right thing cause I like watching your videos they’re entertaining ❤
Take care of yourself Daym
You need to have a heart to heart with your boy Badlands!
Yo. Even if you don't like him. Why? What's the purpose?
This is the realist stuff I have ever heard you say bra. I always wondered if you and ya boy thought about this type of stuff. I'm not into what you do but I support your channel because you a brother. It was cool to see you had your own show for a min.
With that being said, I think it's wonderful that you have opened your eye, in regards to the path you have chosen to acknowledge eating certain foods shorten our lives..
9:48 “NiggaAvacado” 😂 I had to replay that part a few times 💀
Thanks Big Homie! I was just exactly as you put it....I was at 445lbs at one point. Didn't care about what I was doing to myself, then one day I had a stroke ended up in a hospital and was in a 3 month coma. Woke up and now lost 150 lbs but I have neverve damage to my entire right side of my body and can barley walk. Thank you for putting this out and letting your fans know the dangers of eating out of control. Be safe!
🙏🙏💐
My uncle also had a stroke and lost his ability to control the left side of his body, leg and arm. He has since regained the ability to walk through physical rehab. Stay hopeful you will get back to 100 percent if you stay motivated.
Real Talk!! Thanks for being honest and transparent. D.
Keep your head up and listen to your Doc.
Consider getting a spin bike to help burn calories without tearing your knees and back up.
Wishing you well. Luck has nothing to do with it.
We appreciate the honesty ❤ every aspiring food content creator should take this seriously
So many people needed to hear this come from you! Bless you bro!
This is really good information you're putting out there for others to learn from, diabetics sometimes don't want to face realities of their circumstances and you putting a spotlight on it surely will help some people. Good for you for putting yourself out there to help others.
Rather you turn back to gaming, story narration, etc aslong as you're still with us that's all that truly matters
Hit me up.
God bless for you bro to speak out about it
Good for you man.
U got it my dude
Keep doing your thing bro. Life is all about change. Make the changes and keep living!
Bless up! Thank you for being real and transparent. Wishing you all the best 🙏🏾
Proud of you. I will continue watching you !
I just hit my 40s and had a heart attack now im on a lot of meds. Life catches up fast.
I had one at 41. You got this!
Wising you a speedy recovery 🫡
Need you around my guy 🙏🏾💯
Thank you for all of the content you've given us through the years Daym. You can review 1 chicken tender or 1 french fry or no food review at all. I can listen to you talk, and I'll still be here supporting you, my friend.
This is so real, thanks for the transparency. I find it to be caring.
My father went through this struggle until he left this world. Now knowing that a gastric bypass would have solved his issues or just going vegan could’ve saved him Im hoping your Dr.’s have explained these options to you. 🙏🏿
I’ve been subbed to Daym since i was 15-16 years old bra now I’m 24 . So happy to see u still here alive and Blessed. It makes me happy to see the Ogs still around🖤…Rip agp and i wish u many more blessings for the Lord almighty. He loves you , shalom‼️🖤
Thank you Daym. This was very informative and definitely a wake up call. Thanks again!
*Throws away the rest of my small DQ Blizzard*
Although you had a blizzard, at least it was a small and not a bigger size.
Even a small is super calorically dense and high in sugar. I still want to commend you for getting a small. It's not the best decision but better than the alternatives.
Making small changes like portion contol, incorporating sugar free options, and exercising regularly is critical.
Occasionally, treating yourself is okay, also.
You got this! Had to change my eating habits too. Blessing Sir🙏🏽❤️
Daym. I am praying for you. Diabetes is nothing to mess with. I do understand.
Hang in there man. Thanks for putting your story out there. Possible Blindness, infections, amputations... not worth it. I hope you can turn it around and then tout your success 🙌🏾
Daym, I understand the A1C my husband and son both suffer from high triglyceride demia. So definitly see the effects of that. All about balance in life with food and lifestyle. Got ya Daym totally understand. We got you your foodie fam.😊
i respect that you are taking an accountability for your situation and don't blame anyone. Hopefully you get things under control Daym. You've already become an OG food reviewer and no one cant take that away from you
Amen Daym! Praying for you and Banlands! 😃
This is such a great and needed message! Much respect for putting it out there.
This isn’t content creator stuff.
This is life stuff.
Especially African Americans.
We gotta do better.
Thank you my brother this was a true eye opener I also struggle with type 2 diabetes and I was very negligent for a while until I woke up and could barely see now I’m definitely taking my life and this illness serious lost 25lbs and counting keep it going d we got this
Appreciate you sharing this! Please be well. 🙏🏾
Thank you for being so vulnerable and candid in sharing the TRUTH! It's hard! But hang in there, Daym. God bless you.
James Hetfeld- "My lifestyle determines my deathstyle."
I respect and support Daym on this journey.
Bro you could honestly just make videos of you eating salads and bullshittin and id be just as happy. Im just happy to see and hear from you everyday, been here far too long to bail as soon as things get tough. Daym vlogs would be a nice channel just to check in and stay in touch with your family you've gained over the years.
Thank you for being open, honest, and educating. We as a community take this for granted. And this can happen to anyone of us. Thank you for your wise words! 🙏🏾
Hi Daym...This was wonderful! Thanks for sharing your story.❤ Has your Doctor recommended Ozempic? Diabetes is really what the medication is for😊
