Tell me why my cats are cheaper to maintain that something as stupid as a pleco? Filters. Food. Water pH... Fish are literally the dumbest "pet" of all time.
Can't pet them. Can't cuddle them. They just live there in a state of stasis like a prison cell. Hey... Spend a week in your bathroom and you can't flush the toilet.
I always love the content Forrest goes over but his enthusiasm for the subjects is just contagious. As a kid marine biology was my dream job, but life went different ways. But being able to see Forrest live the dream I was never able to achieve will do just fine. Keep being awesome Forrest, you are this generations Steve Irwin and we can’t thank you enough ❤
there's something very funny about someone taking a tour of a conservation aquarium and every once in a while during the tour just being like 'damn, i'd love to eat that'
@@The_Crucible714 I watch a fishing yt channel and this dude in Florida caught one and his mom was with him she swore up and down they would eat them in Hawaii too so he kept it and cooked it and said it was disgusting lol
tbf I work in another aquarium and I'm pretty sure it's just a universal joke for aquarists to talk about how yummy our fish would taste (we love them i promise)
Mike is awesome you can see the joy in his eyes just looking at the animals. I get that same look talking to a good friend, it’s amazing to see someone this passionate about their work. He sees these animals everyday and still has that spark in his eyes.
Wonders of Wildlife was the first aquarium I ever went to as a child. It was back before the renovation and I was awestruck by everything. I can't imagine what they all have now.
I really like that Forest doesn’t pretend to be one of those people who pretend to know everything and he’s willing to learn from anyone about anything
I think it’s beautiful that there’s little programs all over the world like the Venezuelan project to bring endangered species back to healthy numbers and we don’t know it’s always nice to hear good news 😊
The craziest isopods are the parasitic ones that attach themselves to fishes tongues, eat the tongue, then just replace the tongue and grow into its place by clamping on the stump….wild af
It is always refreshing to see people who absolutely love their job! Hats off to the people doing the work to help inform people about the species of the world!
16:05 Forrest is an adult child. "Did you know what?!?! I swam with one of those! It tried to eat me!" Is something I definitely would hear a 4 year old say to me. Thw difference is i believe forrest! 😆 🤣 😂
What I find fascinating, aside from how in the world they got deep sea creatures, is that, as the tour guide pointed out, it's in the middle of the USA. I'd have for sure thought an aquarium like this would be in California, or maybe New York. Heck, maybe even Dubai. It's a super fancy aquarium, and I don't blame the guide one bit for his enthusiasm. That's definitely a dream job for many.
Love watching these videos - i do wish id got into animal / marine biology when i was younger. Watching these videos is unreal just love the animal kingdom
Thank you so much for letting me know about this place it's less than six hours away I can't wait to visit my lady's never been to an aquarium this is gonna be a treat she's always wanted to go to one now I get to take her to the biggest
Your knowledge is absolutely refreshing brother and your passion definetly shows you had more info on the animals then the actual workers amazing vid thanks for the watch
The more I find out about Johnny Morris I love the man's passion for the earth. Bought one of his rods bc I loved the feel but had no clue who he was lol. Legend
I only recently started following your channel. I love documentaries and your channel definitely holds my interest. Frankly i didn't expect you to do a video on aquariums. Yeah it's a public aquarium but still not expected. It sounds crazy but I kinda want to see someone do a video with aquarists. There are some really big names in the fish keeper hobby. Channels like Predatory fins and Stingray biology are big deals in the hobby. They have mostly freshwater but they do have some saltwater stuff including sharks. They're in NYC. Another channel, The King of DIY, is based in Nova Scotia. He has stingrays, Asian arrowana and many other fish. I don't see it happening but it would be interesting/cool to see a video put out on the fish keeping hobby in general and focus on some of the good points the hobby has had on some species. There's definitely been some negatives in the hobby. But lots of positives too.
Really wish we had something like that here in Canada but I can see why we dont, not cheap or easy to run one of these facilities but something I think the public as a whole should be investing in. Not only does it help in our understanding and education of the wildlife but it more importantly helps raise awareness and conservation efforts.
Take 1 minute to think about it ... What eats mosquitoes? What eats those that eat mosquitoes? Then what eats them ? Vital part of the food chain and one of the only things slowing population growth ...
Wow deep sea gigantism. Learned alot! All the shells! Animals make music. Beyond beautiful. and now I want to be a lionfish bounty hunter hah. Phenomenal vid. So amped up
- It is a shame that the camera man or women didn't show a lot of the stuff in depth. I would've loved to see more of the fish, shells, ect. But overall a good video ! ❤
If it's just as difficult to shoot video as it was for us to get pictures in that aquarium, I can understand why they don't have more shots of this fish. So many dark rooms with colored lighting. It was amazing though. Spent an entire day in that Bass Pro. SOOOO many exhibits; it was like a theme park!
Man I used to live in Ozark Missouri and I was there when the foundation cracked and they shut down. Seeing this makes me want to go back and see this since I haven't seen the aquarium since it shut down. Awesome content yet again keep it up my friend.
I truly feel like Steve's energy was shared amongst a few people in the world and Forrest was one of those people. His passion for conservation and wildlife is bang spot on
Maybe one day I'll visit. My wife just lost her eye sight because of kidney failure. If she ever gets her sight back we'll make a trip. Looks beauitful, she'd hate the crab and shit but yeh.
I actually love movies and music because of nature, and I find it all to be beautiful art. Nature is my inspiration for my enjoyment towards making art as well, lol. I don't blame some people for loving nature a lot more than human entertainment, though. Sometimes, a fresh breath of outside in nature is what we need ❤
@8:00 I wouldn't say planted aquariums are hard to keep. A little bit of research and patience, almost anyone can keep a planted freshwater aquarium!! Are there plants that are more advanced and harder to keep alive? Yes, but there's also plenty of beautiful, hardy, easy plants to choose from as well! My personal favorites are crypts, annubias and Amazon swords but there are many other's! I would encourage people to look into setting one up. It's a great way to unwind and relax.
I never said they were using petco plant's, and yes, planted tanks are easy to keep. Especially long-term. Most of the problems you will run into arise shortly after you set it up. The longer the tank is going and the more mature the tank and plants are, the easier it gets. My very first fish tank back in 2017 was a 15gal fluval flex that I planted, and every tank I have kept since has had live plant's.
Saltwater tanks aren’t difficult either once you get them balanced. Then all they really need are periodic water checks & monthly water changes. People are too anxious to speed up the process and that’s why some of them fail.
I live in Branson and was surprised to see that you were at Wonders. This is my first time viewing one of your videos! (I’ve also never been to Wonders) 🤣
