It should be noted that most people get on and off the _Skyliner_ train at Nippori Station. Reason: direct connection to several JR East rail lines. The problem with Keisei Ueno Station is that it's a *LONG* walk back to JR East Ueno Station through the underground tunnel passageway.
For those new to Japan, the Skyliner is the fastest and most convenient. However, if you have an additional 30 minutes to spare, the Keisei Sky Access is less than half the price and much more economical way to get to/reach Narita Airport from Tokyo.
One reason why N'EX is more popular among tourists is because they offer a return ticket when you buy a ticket to Tokyo. This is convenient as it offers tourists a way back to the airport and their flight home. But thanks for the information about Skyliner, perhaps the cheaper rate is their advantage over N'EX
Hi, Johnboy! Yes, that's one of the reasons and another is that most tourists make use of "JR Pass" which is valid in all JR lines around Japan. So, they choose JR's Narita Express as it is convenient for them.
Here are two reasons that I have used Narita Express instead of the Skyliner: 1. The NE'X is fully covered by the JR railpass. Plus when I go to the JR office to pick up the pass, I can make a free reservation for the NE'X. 2. I've used JR before and I know that their trains, stations, staff and tickets support English. I wish I could learn Japanese, but learning the language, Katakana, Hiragana and Kanji is beyond my ability. When I watch travel videos, like this one, I look for English signage and listen for announcements in English. From what I saw in this video, I feel confident that I could take the Skyliner. Thank you.
I find it cute, the way public service workers are so polite, and it is part of their job to be polite yet it's still cute. No such thing in developing countries like mine lol
I read somewhere that the Keisei line to Narita was originally planned as a Shinkansen line (without level crossings etc), but there was a change in plan. Wow, that IS Fast Wifi!
The Skyliner is great, but I prefer the Keisei Narita Skyaccess. It makes it to the area I usually stay in without any transfers! I love your videos, I have subscribed!
Sometimes the high level of Japanese politeness is a bit overwhelming. The train looks super sexy from the outside. The speed, though for a very short time was incredible 👏!
thanks for another ride! 😁 I think I'd choose udon noodles, but I've had neither before. don't worry if I disappear once in a while. I will always come back 😀 I have some catching up to do lol
Always take your time and enjoy my video! Udon noodles are awesome. There are a lot of kinds of udon so you will like some😆 I'm working on some more so stay tuned :)
I used Skyliner every time I go to Tokyo. Love the combination of promotion ticket Skyliner+Tokyo Metro (which I'm not sure how many countries sold like this), so if I planned only visit Tokyo and nearby in Metro area Skyliner is my first choice.
Thanks for the comment, Suwan Supathanased! I didn't know that Skyliner also offers some promotions even though I know Narita Express does. I think Skyliner is more useful, like you said, when traveling in the very centre of Tokyo cities. Meanwhile, Narita Express takes you to more places around Tokyo.
I wanted to try this, but I ended up taking NEX cause I guess most tourist are more well versed using JR pass and JR are more popularised outside of Japan.
Hi, Adikzz Cutie! Come to think of why NEX is more popular among tourists, it's they give "JR Pass", like you said, which you can use all around Japan. I don't know how much lower you can buy NEX tickets at, but it must be much helpful to you guys.
@@travelgeekphotographyI was also thinking that the rotating seats ensure a nice amount of legroom, since they need clearance to complete the ration safely. Thank you so much for your videos! (Can you also explain the rock paper scissors you personally do at the end of every video of yours? Thank you again! 😊)

Beautiful train similar to Shinkansen bullet train . Japan rail system is the best and the safest rail way in the world .
2:58 sleek, modern design. looks nice..
Thanks man for leaving the comment😊
What a beautiful train! So incredibly modern.
Thanks Tucker for leaving the comment!😊
Yes, the train was really cool and exciting

Thank you for the relaxing video
1:06 min I prefer Soba. Yummy.
Thank you for showing, now I have the Skyliner on my bucket list and know what I prefer to use into the City. 👍

Interesting idea of a security guard on board. They should return to aircraft, also.

Is seat reservation needed?
What is the name of the app you are using to check the speed, please?
I use "Speedometer" apps.apple.com/jp/app/speedometer-55-gps-speed-hud/id557871911?l=en
@@travelgeekphotography thank you.
Does this train run on the narrow gauge tracks or on regular(1435mm) like Shinkansen?
It runs on regular gauge!
Metric:
km/h = kilometers per hour
kph = kilo pico hour = nano hour = bs
Standard gauge?
Yes, it runs on 1435mm tracks
@@Satoscio Seems like a mini-mini Shinkansen, narrower than E3, E6, E8, although same car length.
👍👍
Vmax is 160? If so then why is it a Express train when Belgium's commuter trains go 160 and 200?
Express trains here in germany don't stop at every station, as the Skyliner does also. Commuter stops at every village.
