- In this video we look at how to factory reset an 8800 series phone. In my case I'm using an 8861 but anything in the 8800 and 7800 family should be the same. I also mention briefly how to do this for older phones. This procedure is best used when you cannot gain access to the menu to reset. It is a hard reset and will wipe all settings.

Weird my 8851 headset light doesn't do the same steps as you are presenting.
I think older hardware or software revisions can differ... this is based on the latest model phones and software

Hi, I'm getting a password screen prompting me to enter a pwd whenever I click factory reset using settings menu. It appears for nw setting as well. I don't remember setting any password for the phone. Any idea?
If you reset the phone as it boots as I demonstrated I believe that will defeat the password you are seeing.

A factory reset and a reconfiguration would do it.
Hello, when doing factory programming, does the device’s IP change?
Does it need to set a new IP?
Typically they phones get an IP from DHCP. After a reset it would likely get the same address.
