Wow! I am really impressed. To fill in Simon Gallup's position and play like that is so nerve-racking, even if it is his son. Eden did a magnificent job and that too considering that there was only one rehearsal prior to this! Bass is so vital for Cure songs that it is easily noticeable if it is not played correctly. Here, however, he shines! Proud moment for him, the group and Simon. :-)
Not to be a troll here but how it is easily noticeable? The base is probably what you notice the least, you mostly hear the guitars and the battery. Maybe in this song but not in the rest.
@@latengocomoburro No, there are definitely songs where the bass is in your face! Here: He missed a note probably cuz he was off a few frets. Only I would notice cuz I played in a Cure Tribute Band for 7 years (I was Simonette). 🎸 Other songs like: Let's go to bed, Lovecats, Love Song, and even Charlotte Sometimes stand out as well.
The way Robert and Reeves look each other at the end is so sweet, you can really see that they love him and even if he did few little mistakes they still really proud
Wow such a good live version of a forest with Eden! great job for only having one day of rehearsal to fill in for his dad and what an awesome experience to play with his godfather Robert...
That look that Reeves and Robert give each other on the ending - must have been nerve wracking to get only the one practice in with him. But he did a great job.
I wonder if everyone there actually realize what an honor & treat it is to see The Cure live. I’ve been a fan since 1988 when I first heard of them. I was 9 & my sister went to a Halloween party and a guy was dressed up like Robert. Let’s just say, that night I became a life long fan. 💗
I got so hammered after this gig that I ended up Sleepwalking a mile out of the campsite grounds at the break of dawn, Lost in a forest, all alone as you were!
The Cure Robert Smith what can you say that hasn't been said before! "musical legends of the world" their music has no use by date and never will have.
I recently went to a live concert (of a Japanese band) in Japan. I sang along, waved my hands and jumped up and down, as you do when you go to a concert. And guess what? several people told me "not to put your hands up all the time" as they couldn't see the artist, "Don't sing along, just mouth the words" as they couldn't hear the artist properly, "Don't put your hair up in a bun" as my hair was in the way (I mean, wtf?!) "Don't woohoo at the guitar solo" And basically, all the audience did was do hand gestures (you all point at the artist in unison, its so creepy), and clap at the appropriate time. Is this the same in other countries? I mean, what's the point of attending a live gig if you can't sing along, woohoo, wave your hands around and basically - have FUN?!!
Eden was rocking his old man's part in A Forest!!!
He also stole my red bass! And, looks like a band mate of mine: Gino! 🎶

One rehearsal but the boy has been hearing these songs all his life.

@@latengocomoburro Depends how you're listening
@@latengocomoburro That's true of some rock bands but definitely not The Cure. The bass drives so many of their songs.

Eden - such a worthy son!

"Am I doing ok, uncle Bob?"

I played Simonette in a Cure Tribute Band here in OR for 7 years!
Eden kicking ass on bass......proud of that kid!

Being Roberts godson as well-it was so sweet to see Robert play right with him at end-do you think he said to him “ good job young padiwan”?
Well Done

Simon..."That's my Boy!"
♥️♥️♥️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤
~applause~
Eden did a great job, only had a mistake just in the end at 6:09
12,000 people looking back at you from the Naeba valley can do that to a man :)
@@Tokyo_Matt 😂
I hear the fingers of the son sliding on the bass by moments but not bad and nice

One regret...
Never see Robert's son singing
😁😁😁
ou est simon gallup ?????
Vernet Didier personal problems, his son s there playing bass, Eden
Le fils de Simon Éden traine un peu les Accords basse ce n'est pas le jeu de Simon on le ressent Direct surtout sur a Forest

When in Rome, dude. Way to be an ugly gaijin and disrespect their cultural.
enough with the musicians that outplay jason cooper
He didn't get a little fat, Simon ? 😀😀😀
I think he might play better than the old man.
Eden is talented and worthy...but there is only ONE SIMON GALLUP!
he is great but watch the clip from the Forest at paleo fest. Simon at his best
And...Eden stuffed up the ending!
Simon Patience with one day reharsal, he made a great job.....
