Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, "Spare Tire" Dixon.
@studyhardplayhard5086 i hate when ppl say that. He came recommended from a scout agent. He was doing stage acting. That's why the studios was weary about investing. Imagine how much money 11 seasons made !
She doesn't know how to interview professionally I have no clue why her show keeps getting renewed for more seasons. Should have been canceled after 3 episodes, I find her irritable AF; only reason I'm watching is because of Ed O'Neill.
Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years) told a great story about Ed's early years on Broadway. In the late 1970s, Ed was serving as an understudy in a boxing drama called Knockout. His role was as the villain. Early in the show's run, the lead actor dropped out, and Ed stepped in for what would be his Broadway debut. He thought he delivered a great performance, but when it came time for the curtain call, Ed came out to a chorus of boos from the audience. He was stunned until he realized what the booing was about. Ed took off one of his gloves, kissed his fist, and threw the kiss out at the audience. At that moment, he got the loudest ovation of the night. The booing was a sign of how great he had played the villain in the show. Dan later said that Knockout got mixed to negative reviews, but if you looked at even the negative reviews, all of them would say that the one standout of Knockout was Ed O'Neill.
I love Ed O'Neill for his acting but more so for who he is. A great man who has and still to this day gives me great laughs from watching Married with Children re-runs! I can't wait to see 'Clipped' so I can see this story of Donald Sterling's ownership of the Clippers.
Married with Children is the best comedy series in my opinion and Al Bundy has become a legend. Ed O'Neill should get a special place for portraying the character he played in that series. It certainly has a special place with a lot of people who watched Married with Children, as it does with me.
Ed as he has gotten older, has become more open. In the days of Married... With Children he was very private. As a result he has dozens of untold celebrity stories ranging from Chris Farley to Al Pacino. This is truly an iconic time for Ed.
Very happy to hear he's in a new show. As a matter of fact, he was meant to play the male lead in Amazon Prime's short-lived (and cancelled ofc) show "Night Sky" a few years back, but he had to back out for personal family reasons, from what I understand. As luck would have it, they found a great replacement in J.K Simmons (aka Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man movies).
Al's speech to the librarian lady saved more than a few lives, i know it kept me going at one point. Love Al, and Ed, thanks for the laughs over many years.
How would they have predicted the series would have been successful with O’Neill? The series was very outside the box at the time and it only got green lighted because it was the first scripted series on a brand new broadcast television network.
I'm 48 and remember married with children my older brother introduced me to watch it with him, like come over to my bedroom to watch this show its so funny 😂 so i said what now like i had to see something what ever he wanted me to check out now lol. I felt in love with it right away, thinking what haven't i been told about this show. The show is much older then modern family and it's a classic show.
To this day, I'm still shocked that Al Bundy didn't two-piece his guardian angel (Sam Kinison) for pinching Peg's butt. The way that he wagged his finger at Sam after that pinch, you'd have guessed he was about to at least tell him off. Then, low and behold, he says, "Wait a minute" after soaking in what had transpired during this "What if" alternate reality. The way that Ed O'Neill paused with that finger while waiting for the studio audience to calm down after the butt pinch, really built up the suspense of what Al was going to say.
There are a lot of kids like that. They would rather just go out and play. And I think honestly there is nothing wrong with that. More kids should be out playing rather than sitting in school for a third of their young lives.
Married With Children started in the 80s but was mostly a 90s show. The first four seasons aired in the late 80s and the rest of the seven seasons aired throughout the 90s. Having grown up in the 90s and into the early 2000s, I had seen the show and was already familiar with Ed before Modern Family. He'll always be Al Bundy to me.
3;50 the teacher had a nervous breakdown,....in 1970. Can you imagine being an inner city teacher TODAY???! She thought she needed a gurney THEN. .....
My favorite quote from Married with Children: "Does this dress make me look fat?" Al: "it's not the dress that make you look fat, it's the Fat that make you look fat." Lol. Classic.

I got the school right
Al "Touchdown" Bundy
💯
Truth, I have said it before and it is worth repeating. If Al Bundy and Uncle Rico were on a team together they would win it all. Every game, period.
@Brad772006 true, but he was more committed to NO MA'AM after he became a successful shoe salesman.
This guy is responsible for one of the most beautiful sounds in the world.... the laughter of my parents
That's probably the nicest thing I've ever heard someone say about their parents.
I'll never forget watching my Dad laugh his ass off watching MWC.. he just passed on in July, good old memories 🙏
Yes! Great memories! . Whenever I watch clips, that’s what always comes to mind. The laughter of my parents.
Peg: Hi honey, did you miss me?
Al: With every bullet so far.
😂
Fave line ever
Classic show
I’d say it your face, but my car only has a half tank of gas. 😂
Peg:Al does this dress make me look fat Al responds no your fat makes you look fat.
😆 Al loved his family tho. Especially "pumpkin".
Ed O'Neil is such an underrated actor, any chance I get to quote Al Bundy is something I jump at! Ed O'Neil truly is a legend!!
There it is again. The word Underrated used to describe someone or something that is not underrated.
MWC lasted 11 seasons❕ I got every episode on DVD.
@studyhardplayhard5086 i hate when ppl say that. He came recommended from a scout agent. He was doing stage acting. That's why the studios was weary about investing. Imagine how much money 11 seasons made !
she needs to let him speak, she interrupts too much
Married with children was ahead of its time.. this man is a legend..
Man Kelly should let her guest finish their sentences before interrupting them!
She interviews like she has ADHD
Spent too much time in the UK??? It's an Olympic Event there.
Man, I found that so annoying too! 🤦♂️
I was thinking the same thing.
She doesn't know how to interview professionally I have no clue why her show keeps getting renewed for more seasons. Should have been canceled after 3 episodes, I find her irritable AF; only reason I'm watching is because of Ed O'Neill.
His appearance in Miami Vice is extremely underrated, he's such a great actor
I just now seen that. Yea ED is versatile.
His appearance in Wayne‘s World is extremely underrated!
Try his appearance in Midnight Caller, where he play a man who's pondering suicide. It's very dark and serious, and a very underrated appearance.

That was a great interview. As a casual fan I didn't know ANY of those stories!
Ed tells so many good stories. Makes me want to listen to more of them!
The interviewwas terrible, Ed was him self as always.
Living legend, Mr. Ed O'Neil!
Man I love Kelly but she should let her guest finish their sentences before interrupting them!
He has picked up a few lbs 👀
One of THE most underrated actors. I love his comedy, but I also wish his dramatic roles had received more recognition.
Looks like Kelly doesn’t know what to say lmao. She is such a fan of his. It’s so cute I love her.
She's just an absolutely CRAP interviewer.
You'll never see another show like this ever again! A straight classic!
That’s amazing that he went to school with Jim Cummings! He is incredible ❤
Not amazing.
I also didn't know he was from Ohio.
I loved this interview! Amazing interview!
Kelly won't let Ed finish a sentence without interrupting it's really annoying.
No one couldve been casted better for al bundy than ed o neil
I love Ed O'Neill for his acting but more so for who he is. A great man who has and still to this day gives me great laughs from watching Married with Children re-runs! I can't wait to see 'Clipped' so I can see this story of Donald Sterling's ownership of the Clippers.
See yesterday 2 chapters of clipped, go for it! And it's amaizing every woman love this man
If anyone has not seen Ed in the movie "Dutch" you are missing out.
💯! Agree !
Nothing burps better than bacon
John Hughes movie, it's really entertaining.
One of my childhood favorites! Whenever that movie comes up, I always think of the fireworks scene.
Great film!
Married With Children is one of my all-time favorites!
Let Ed finish his sentence!
IKR Jesus
He is just so nice
Kelly’s nervous. I don’t blame her! Legend 🙌🏼
Legend….Ive literally been a fan my entire life!
This man is an Icon. An American Treasure! In my opinion, Al Bundy is the greatest sitcom dad ever!
Ed O'Neil absolute legend 🙌
He’s amazing!
I miss when back in the day people weren’t so dam sensitive. Married With Children CLASSIC
So true
Just want to give him flowers 💐 thanks for all he laughs and movies. 🤴🏻
MWC is my favorite tv series
Kelly looking amazing ❤❤❤
Married with Children is the best comedy series in my opinion and Al Bundy has become a legend. Ed O'Neill should get a special place for portraying the character he played in that series. It certainly has a special place with a lot of people who watched Married with Children, as it does with me.
Love Ed❤
Best job I ever had was being a phone technician at Columbia Studios while MWC was taping there.
Love Ed! Talking about distractions damn Kelly is looking amazing lately, those legs!!! Great interview!
They look so amazing and juicy, I could eat them raw...
9:17 No, that was not the episode, Kelly. It's obvious she never saw Married with children!
Ed as he has gotten older, has become more open.
In the days of Married... With Children he was very private.
As a result he has dozens of untold celebrity stories ranging from Chris Farley to Al Pacino.
This is truly an iconic time for Ed.
ED has his life
Is this what happens to men as they age?
@steelstreet79 Not necessarily. Ed was just always very private back in the Married... With Children days. He didn't discuss his personal life.
@@Hypno-Swag especially around 87-97
@@steelstreet79 not nessecary
Kelly looking amazing
That guy scored four frickin touchdowns!
The shoe store with all the big ladies needing a size 7 😂😂😂😂😂 so funny they know they’re a size 11
Kelly Clarkson's been hitting that Ozempic pretty hard. She looks good though.
I'm loving all the flowers in the background with what looks like an old speaker awesome 😊😊😊
you are stunning 😍
O - H - I - O !!! Go Buckeyes!!!
Ed O'Neal was and absolutely genius in married with children
Very happy to hear he's in a new show. The greatest show of all time
I want to meet him and give him a huge hug for all the laughing he gave me in my childhood through married with children.
One fan from 🇬🇷
Ed O'Neill is such a classic!!
Love this man, First, he was a Steeler then he played Hsndball. Wow, I was the king if Handball in Queens, Nyc
Lol - he is a well-poised introvert; she is all over the place- fanning out a little bit. Introverts are so thoughtful and he is a good storyteller.
Kelley, let the man finish his sentence.
Al's speech to the librarian lady saved more than a few lives, i know it kept me going at one point. Love Al, and Ed, thanks for the laughs over many years.
They should’ve fired the guy who said to fire ed as Al.
How would they have predicted the series would have been successful with O’Neill? The series was very outside the box at the time and it only got green lighted because it was the first scripted series on a brand new broadcast television network.
Proud member of No Ma'am club
I always loved his Michael Jackson story, and his Brittany Spears story! Ed tells great stories!!
I could listen to him all day.
Al Bundy was one of my favorite all time tv characters.
Kelly is definitely taking Ozempic.
Ed O'Neil for Prez 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Al Bundy: Let's Cook (cue George Thorogood and the Destroyers)
One of my all time favorite shows growing up even though i knew it was inappropriate for my age. Lol
you are stunning 😍
Al: tell them about the legend of Al Bundy, tell them about O.C.D.
ONE COOL DUDE.
--Crowds roar.
I hate if interviewers talk always and dont let the guest answer. Ed can say hardly any sentence without beeing interrrupted all the time.
I'm 48 and remember married with children my older brother introduced me to watch it with him, like come over to my bedroom to watch this show its so funny 😂 so i said what now like i had to see something what ever he wanted me to check out now lol. Ohio in the building ! So much talent here.
You can never go wrong with Ed O'Neal

Wow.. they were told not to hire Al.
I couldn't think of anyone who could play AL better!!
Exactly!
Sam Kinison was who they first had in mind, so O’Neill wasn’t quite who they imagined the character to be.
Ed looks great for 78!
I didn't get to enjoy him in the 80s for married with children but I got to enjoy him for modern family 😊
Honey Al Bundy was a mess

This was my absolutely favorite show as a Kid.
How no one freaked out when he said that he went to school with Jim Cummings? Both of them legendary people in this industry 🎉🎉🎉
No.
Because most people likely don’t know who he is. He was a voice actor, so he never was really a household name.
@@AISlopTheatre I know who he is, but I can’t imagine most people do.
Clarkson interrupts him before he can answer. Kelly Shut Up !
Kelly Clarkson has a show?
I watched for Al Bundy, but stayed for Kelly! She’s looking good these days 🫡🫡
Al: I love that Dodge more than anything in this room Bud: Dad what about us Al : You need a Q-Tip😂😂😂
It's wild to see these actors in real life; btw Bud (David Faustino) is friggin 50 now!
Still one of the best comedy series ever.
As a child, I didn't really understand why I found married with children so compelling, but looking back it was obviously just O'Neill.
He’ll always be Al bundy to me.
Buddy the no man he’s as bold as he can be I watched it with my mom when I was little girl

That Barry Diller story!!
When this was on TV in Germany, I was training to be a shoe saleswoman. It sweetened my lunch break.

I played high school football 🏈
Scored 4 touchdowns in one game 😅
He has such kind eyes
Love how he just easy slip into Al Bundy just for a sec when talking about his uncle 😅

I'm writing that Ed O' Neill says that there are 265 episodes of Married With Children when in fact there are 259 episodes of Married With Children.
As a extra
The putdown jokes were so funny!
Nobody can do Al Bendy like ED !!! He was freekin funny.
Just learned that Roseanne Barr & Ton Arnold were originally offered "Married with Children" 1st 😲
We need Al Bundys wisdom more than ever
Married with children is still best show hes been in, would most likely be cancelled these days but would still watch it lol
