Kristen admits she cried when meeting Carol for the first time at the table read, and Carol reveals she said yes to the show based purely on the cast. Carol and Kristen also reflect on starting their careers in New York City, sneaking into Broadway shows, and answer questions from the audience!

Yes, but Julie Andrews isn’t an American national treasure-she’s more of an international treasure. She was also the source of my first girl-crush when I looked like this 🤩🥰🤩 after seeing _The Sound of Music_ when I was nine years old.

I worked in a store in NYC and met her three times and she’s the nicest person. Just as wonderful and funny as you’d imagine.

I was blessed to have met Carol when I was a Teenager. I sat in the audience of her show several times. She would walk around amongst the audience and talk to us. Such a genuinely nice person.

I was just thinking that a little while ago wouldn't it be great if during Kristen Wiig's monologue she did a little send-up of the Carol Burnett Show bumping up the lights and asking anybody in the audience if they had any questions and there's Carol in the audience to ask a question
She was in New York with Kristen on the Kelly Clarksin Show this week and they had all these guest stars pop up on SNL last night but for whatever reason Carol opted not to make what would have been a brilliant and inspired appearance
That would have been epic!

Carol has so many interesting experiences and memorable performances to talk of, it's always a joy to see her still active!
I still have visions of her walking on stage with curtain rod through her shoulders and making us laugh with "I saw it in the window and just had to have it!" That was a costume of a lifetime!.
And Carol matter-of-factly gives all credit for that dress to Bob Mackie. What class!

What’s insane she had a troubled childhood too. Her parents were alcoholics and her gran raised her in poverty. She slept on the couch for almost two decades. She is a source of joy … sweet girl. But anyways I hope you’re doing better now .. the past is in the past … you are alive now ! I love you

I got to see Carol Burnett twice, once in 2016 and again in 2018. I should add I have loved her since I was 4 and I will be 52 next month. She came to one of the performing arts halls where I live. In 2016 my mom and brothers surprised me with tickets...I was on the first level and 22 rows back so when she did the Q&A portion I raised my hand but it was hit or miss because of where I was seated. I then saw she was returning in 2018....I believe both times were in regards to her most recent book and the show was titled An Evening with Friends. Well I called the day they went on sale, got three rows back from the stage...she got to the first Q&A portion of the show and I raised my hand and the next thing I knew there was an usher right next to me.....I forgot anything and everything that I wanted to really say and asked her with all her success over the past decades how she has remained so humble, she said she isn't and the audience laughed, sort of like her variety show. To see her in person though, you just get so starstruck words escape you, well in my case they did.

The exact thing happened to me. My mom and I had nosebleed seats but the usher found me. During the 15 seconds he was next to me, I totally choked. I couldn’t find my words (that I’d rehearsed in my mind 50 times) and I waved him off. I just couldn’t do it. My mom said it was the very first time she’d seen me speechless. Ever.

One of the best memories of my mother was when we all watching The Carol Burnett Show and of course it was so funny that you couldn't help but laugh, anyways, hearing my mother laugh so much, it is really a treasure in my memory. In the seventies there wasn't much to laugh about, the Vietnam war was raging, and my brother was a soldier. It was an intense time in our history and The Carol Burnett Show was a much-needed stress reliever and I thank Carol Burnett for that.

I know that I would cry meeting Carol Burnett also. I grew up, as many of us did, going to bed after watching the hilarity of the Carl Burnett show and having all wonderful dreams and no nightmares. It was like being tucked into bed by Carol and crew. So, wonderful and joyous.
Carol has been a huge part of my life - never missed her show! 90 and still dressing impeccable and 100% on the ball! I just love her!

Living in the countryside, outside a small town, there was no way to get a theatre education let alone any experience on stage. I watched Carol’s show every Saturday night and used my tape recorder next to the TV to at least listen to it again. I mimicked the characters, dialogue, and timing over and over again. I ended up going to college to study theatre and absolutely can swear to you it would not have happened had I had not been able to watch Carol Burnett. I wish I could thank her but I’m sure she has heard stories like mine her entire career. I just love her for sharing all of it. ❤

I just realized Kristen Wiig is kind of the natural comedy heir to Carol Burnett. Killer sketch masters and improvisers, quirky characters, everyone says they’re awesome in real life.
I grew up watching Carol Burnett in the '70s. Our entire family would tune in every Saturday night. I just loved when Carol mentioned Ricky Martin and she said "Oh!"

These are two of the funniest women in comic history. Growing up with Carol in the early days was delightful. It is wonderful that Carol is blessing us with more of her genius. And Kristen, well, is just too funny in everything she does. Boy, do we need their energy!

I just remembered that I did see Carol IRL once! Back in the 70's, I saw Carol and Rock Hudson do a silly play called Once Upon a Mattress, at the Kennedy Center in D.C.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Burnett when I was an undergraduate music major at UCLA (she's a fellow Bruin). She is as warm and wonderful and delightful and funny in person as you hope, if not more. My only surprise was she was not as tall as I thought she would be. What didn't go into making her taller went into making her an amazing human being.

Carol Burnett is a treasure! I love watching her in action and she could transport you to wonderful places with her talent! I started watching her as a child with my mother and now when I watch her it transports me back to those times and makes me laugh and cry missing my mom!

Kristen Wiig is under-rated. I'd love to see her in another movie, whether a drama or comedy. Carol Burnet invented ensemble comedy for TV. Some of the skits on her show are now iconic. The GWTW skit is still hilarious and spot on..

Apparently back in the day Lorne Michaels and the SNL staff used "Carol Burnett" as a kind of shorthand for anything they considered corny and unhip, which understandably didn't sit too well with her. I get that they were trying to set themselves apart from what came before but also what a bunch of shortsighted assholes; the woman's a national treasure. So great to see her still kicking ass at 91!

I love Carol Burnett show for years watching reruns still funny today and Carol was on Magnum Pi original 1980-1988 with 2 episodes Carol and Tom Selleck was great together I laughed 😅 hard my ribs hurt.
