Dude, I could listen to you play that guitar all day. You have serious skills and that guitar is awesome in that price point
Thanks for the kind words ken!
@@DarrellBraunGuitar Very Well Deserved. Keep producing these excellent videos
My thoughts exactly!
Grow up and not call any person with "serious skills' - "Dude"
@@DarrellBraunGuitar
No pickguard! Unless you can find a clear one, then yes.
Holy crap that guitar sounds AMAZING!!!!! And that whole fingerstyle piece? I'm so, it just, damn. I can't get the words to describe how good. Wowsers!
Oh, and I vote no pick guard.
Thanks Eric!
@@DarrellBraunGuitar Very welcome, good sir.
Is that an original riff on the “finger style”???? If so good God.
@@jnelson1600 I'm not sure how UA-cam comment notifications work but there's a chance he won't see your question since it didn't tag him and it's a reply to my comment.
Great sound from the guitar and your fingers. You should do a video about your guitar background. How you started why you started and how long it took to sound good. Just a thought.
I will second that!
I third. The motion carries. 😁
Great idea ! 🙋♂️
I agree!!!
And again!
After researching the company a little, it makes me want one even more! The Echo Live is 395 USD but without the Fishman preamp the Echo is 295 USD. That’s a screaming bargain for this kind of tone. Of course being played by Darrell helps heaps I’m sure!!
After much research (this being the best video btw) I decided to take a chance and purchase this guitar. I must admit I'm not disappointed. Great customer service. The folks at Orangewood were quick to answer my concerns and give me advice. The guitar case/bag is top quality. The look of this guitar is stunning. I did change the strings (no big deal) but after that this beauty was ready to go. It has a great sound unplugged and run through a decent acoustic amp I guarantee you the audience can't tell the difference between my Orangewood Echo Live and my $2200 Gibson hummingbird witch has been sitting in its case since I got the Echo Live. I just can't put this guitar down. Very nice playability too.
Hoping they make this model with a cutaway in the future.
I don't really need another acoustic but for the price this one's a keeper.
You make every guitar sound great! Makes it hard to tell how good the instruments are... Incidently I also decided it was time to download your album on Amazon...
bjdenil For some reason I’d forgotten about that. Bought it last night, so beautiful.
That guitar is impressive. Loud, great string clarity from high to low end, great tone and nicely appointed.
Always amazed how you can play your ass off, give a great video and there's ALWAYS idiots who will put a thumbs down. THIS WAS AWESOME Darrell THANK YOU.
Beautiful playing as always! Nay on the pick-guard; At least on that one. Maybe yes to a different shape or color, but I like the clean look of no guard on that guitar. Keep up the great content!
STUNNING SOUND. no pick guard. 👍🏻
keep it clear, then if it gets scratched too much put it on, 2 guitars for the price of 1!
I'm gonna have to join the rest of the crowd and say.....outstanding playing! You left me wishing I knew the title of the fingerstyle piece.....I'd buy it if I could. Yeah.....great way to show off Orangewood guitars....I'll check 'em out more closely now.
I bought the Echo last November, it's an excellent guitar for the price, something to consider is that doesn't have much of bass, still a superb sound quality guitar and the setup it's perfect, I choosed the echo instead of the FG 830 because of the profesional setup that orangewood provides and the free accessory kit and gig bag, I strongly encourage you to buy any orangewood for your budget, the set up is all! As a beginner that you don't know how to setup your guitar it's frustrating, but if the company provides you that, it's a big win
Sounds very transparent and nice overtones. I like the headstock.
Playing is adorable like always.
And: *" No pick guard"* locks so purrfect without it.
Darrel, I love the way you focus on teaching us, but your almost incidental guitar playing that serves the learning is amazingly good.
If no pick guard is good enough for Tommy Emmanuel, it should be good enough for you. And IMO, always show that beautiful wood if you got it. Fantastic playing, Darrell!
Some really delicate playing made the guitar really sing, nice tone, these are great value, and versatile guitars at great prices, another great video Darrell
Beautiful playing Darrell. I’m a Martin and Taylor guy but I’ll have to consider buying this thing. Loved the Drop D tuning in the intro of the video as well
Fingerstyle portion sounded fantastic Darrell!!
Thanks so much!
You keep letting me know that I don't have to pay thousands of dollars for a great sounding guitar. I think I'm starting to get it! Great video Darrell.
I love all of your electric guitar content but was blown away by all of the different styles of playing on this acoustic. More acoustic guitar content please.
No pick guard. Looks great as is.
Originally I was going to say no guard. But, I agree with Mike Jones. No guard at first, then add it later if needed. It only looks slightly better with no guard in my opinion. Shred on man \m/
Gosh that sounded gorgeous. Then again, you could play a thread from a loose button and make it sound good. I say yes to the pickguard.
Thanks for the kind words Linda!
You know I appreciate your electric guitar work but u are amazing on acoustic and creating those eerie sounding chords that I love on an acoustic.
I want to thank you for such great reviews on Orangewood Guitars. I just ordered the Echo Live and I am really looking forward to getting my hands on it. It was a tough decision because of the wide variety Orangewood offers but you helped me greatly in picking the Echo. Jim from Idaho
Do you notice a significant difference in sound quality and playability of the mid range Oliver models vs the higher end echo?
You are the best demo guy for this acoustic which I am about to buy.
Brooklyn or ECHO with onboard Fishman or LR Baggs
Spruce Top sounds really.
Torrified I am leaning towards.
Thanks for doing this
Oh yes! I’ve been looking forward to this Darrell! I’m getting a mason live soon! Looking forward to more amazing reviews from your amazing channel! 😄🤘🎸 I vote nay to the pick guard I think the wood is too beautiful to hide!
During the fingerstyle part I got so mesmerized by the fingerstyle I forgot to listen to the guitar
You’ve got me really wanting an Orangewood.
You review very good you helped me buy my first guitar
I _am_ having an awesome day today! Great video as always Darrell!
I love the sound of these guitars. Great for the money.
Wow! Really, really enjoyed your playing Darrell!
If it will be a family keepsake (in other words, if you plan to keep it forever) then put the pickguard on. If it is another stepping stone on the way to tone nirvana, leave it off, IMO. Thanks, Darrell!
It seems and sounds like a great acoustic and electric guitar real sharp and light sounding for every music styles... I would buy one if I haven't already my fender dreadnough
Just bought the acoustic version and gonna install a K&K pure mini
Incredible sounding
Song of the Paddle!!
Wow! Can't believe anyone recognized that piece! 🏆
@@DarrellBraunGuitar I just love that celtic classics acoustic album. It calms my mind, helps me focus, and very relaxing. The whole thing is just fantastic!
@@DarrellBraunGuitar I've been listening to that album every day for the last week or two. Love it. Nice to see one of the tracks being played.
Darrell I got my ECHO first week of January 2019. Love it! Great quality and most important the playability on this guitar! I put the pickguard on and then removed it! I just preferred the look without!!
Really nice sounding acoustic guitar for the money.
It sounds really nice. Thanks for the demo!
I like how it looks with the pick guard, I say yay!!!
I know you could make the spiderwebs on a mailbox sing however I have to hand it to Orangewood for recognising your talent to show off their products. My Acoustic imo has too high action and I was looking to replace it with something good but far less than a Martin D-28. The Echo Live (maybe Mason Live) looks exactly like what I'm looking for. I'm old school so never learned much about difference in single cutaway acoustic, maybe one day that could be on your topic list unless it's already in your backlog and I've missed it. I cannot believe how you continually raise the levels in what you create, so, so, awesome, thanks.
awesome review, thanks - and yeah leave the guard off ;)
Keep it clear. When I had my Zager Guitar built it came with the pick guard off as well. I chose not to put it on and glad I did. As Mike Jones said below, you can always put it on later if you are a hard player. I think it takes away from the rosette inlay. I don't have one on my Tele either.
Looks awesome with the pick guard!!!
son of a biscuit I just replayed this like 20 times just to hear him play.
YES FOR THE PICKGUARD!!! Great Demo
Thanks Darrell. I'm definitely considering the Brooklyn Live. It would be cool to see a 12 string from them in the future.
I thought this was gonna be a crazy tone wood debate, but got a pleasant surprise
I just came here for the playin... Truly talented!
Demo was amazing!! Id put on a different shaped pickguard on it tho
I have the Orangewood Oliver mahogany. Fine guitar for the price. The best bang for your buck and it comes with a high quality gig bag standard.
No pickguard! That top is beautiful. Great demo, as always!
Thanks Clifton!
Wow man, you have amazing guitar playing skills. Excellent job and really cool guitar
Great guitar. Sounds good. Plus it is all there is and still has great tones. Awesome.
Man you play so good
Sounds great!
Just received the oliver live today it doesnt have the same electronics in case anyone is wondering I just assumed all there live guitars came with the tuner and controls, it only has a preamp no tuner or anything.
No pickguard! As usual, your playing is awesome.
I vote no pick guard! Always enjoy your videos!
Wow that sounds great 👍
And best guitar ive ever heard
Their warranty doesn’t cover damage in shipping. That sucks.
Lovely guitar sir😍.
Not that it matters but the inlay is actually the wings of bird spread out as if it were flying I think but who cares. Is the base of the guitar adequate, I’ve been told it can be on the quieter side? You should do tutorials for songs as well ( maybe you do already), gorgeous playing as always.
Sounds really good
Great vid, as usual. Very impressed you can buy an acoustic of that quality for that price.
The action looks amazing on that guitar....
I’d like a pick guard on the guitar, but I’ve never liked tortoise shell on any guitar. If black were an option then yes, but no if not.
Really great sounding guitar! Either with or without the pick guard it looks great.
Get down that sucker sounds great damn I can't believe it got to get one to try thanks
Good review! Start reviewing more of the Asian acoustics - that's what most of us can afford. You have some really fine acoustic chops. Nice work!
I say nay on the pickguard as well. I want to play one in person, that _sounds_ like a steal for 300$. It sounds almost in the quality range of my taylor 314ce except deeper lows. Have to play one of these and I might fall in and buy one.
Darrel i loved your playing with your electric guitars ! But man yous accoustic playing is beautiful !! I could listen to you all day ! Maybe you could do lessons on your accoustic playing ?
I am having an excellent day! Thanks :)
I fell in love with guitar because of acoustic. That thing sounds great esp for the price. I actually first learned chords at the nut and how to barre E and A shapes on a classical. I really, really want a good steel string acoustic guitar. It does not have to have pups at all because a well built dreadnought style acoustic guitar will project. I mean , I would rather mic the acoustic than mic an acoustic amp .. I hope that makes sense. I would love to hear what you think is the best steel-string acoustic bang for the buck! Thanks for all you do, Darrell!!! Nay on the pick guard :)
Sounds beautiful!
DB on acoustic. It doesnt get more educative than that. Great.
I got this old Yamaha 365 S from the 80s thats (acustically) quite similar sounding.
I vote NO on the pick guard issue. That's my two cents worth. Just take care when playing, like all fine pickers do, and later... if need be, from sustained scratches, put the guard on then. But it is refreshing to see a folk guit. without, for a change. And yes, I agree, very clean clear tone. Sound-wise, it reminded me of a good (and probably far more expensive) Yamaha acoustic... in that mid to upper-mid echelon.
Good review. Like!
Great looking and sounding guitar.
Sounds great, looks good. Nay nay on the pick guard!
Great sounding guitar...great playing as well...cheers🤘
I was anticipating Crosby, Stills, and Nash vocals at around 3:40.
Sounds better then my Martin
Great guitar dude!
You should get one of those clear cling pick guards... All the protection but without changing the look... Or find some other pick guard that fits the guitar better than the one they sent...
Great playin, mister
Nice review and it sounds nice. Looks great without the pickguard.
No guard, Darrell. Great video as usual. Best wishes.
Add a black scratch guard!!!
With a Loggo of your channel!!
great guitar! nicely played Mate! Thanks, must get one but doesn't have outlets to buy in the UK Rod in London
PS sounds better than my Martins Rod in London
I am pretty sure I have seen a shovel that someone made into a guitar. I am also pretty sure that you could make it sound like a million bucks. So, what I am saying is Orangewood should be paying you for making their guitar sound amazing.
How about a quick video on those beautiful harmonics you play so effortlessly? Love your playing. Thanks! PS. No pickguard.
I ordered one of these and it will be here the day after Thanksgiving 2019
You're lucky dude, I tried to order one from their website but they won't ship to outside of the US and I'm in the UK. I've been looking for a budget acoustic for a while now and the quality for the price seems pretty outstanding with everything I've seen regarding these guitars.
@@braveheart4603 I got a couple days before Thanksgiving it turns out. The quality seems to be excellent the fit and finish are immaculate from what I can tell. I'm no expert on guitars but so far I like what I see and hear.
Sounds amazing.
Great video again!!!!
