Y'all probably know Coleman from By Any Means Basketball already. But anyways, check out his stuff. He was a huge inspiration for me when I was starting out, and still is! www.youtube.com/@ByAnyMeansBasketball Watched him run a camp last week. Really paving the way w/ his new school teaching methods. Teaching everything through games, with players having freedom to try out different things. Also hooped with him a few times and he is a bucket.
player imitation and left hand only are my favorites left hand only let me score and dribble comfortably with both hands and player imitation is fun and allows me to use and learn moves i wouldnt usually use.
I love this video! Educational amd entertaining. I'm only just getting started with the sport and it's more difficult than it looks! Definitely will try out these. Love from England
Yo I love y’all channel Being seeing improvement in my son game (and mine) especially using the top foot/bottom foot attacks. Keep up the great work coach
Good stuff....Another game I have my players play is "Kyrie 1 on 1". Three dribbles or less, MUST score off glass. Layups worth one point, makes outside the paint worth two.
@@andrewsummer3521 you asked if they could.... Purpose of the game is to get more skilled with using the backboard....modify it by starting at the ft line
Never underestimate the heart of a champion - I'd love if Steph got his 5th ring which would seriously seal him as a top 10 of all time player and start to move him into the top 5 discussion. No clue who's actually gonna win it though - it would be fun to see Philly make the finals one time.
You missed limited dribbles! Ex. 1 dribble to work on triple threat + pullup, 2-3 dribbles to really make it a challenge and so on. Buuut I wanted to ask you how to make someone 1v1 you and also make them pressure you so you can actually improve. Most people I play 1s with play lazy defense😐
I know u said u won't feature the midrange on ur channel but why? Your guy Byanymeansbasketball has made lots of videos on the importance of a 1-2 pull up jumper and Micah Lancaster recently released a video about this to. Is it strictly because of analytics?
Midrange is a very inefficient shot compared to threes and layups. That's why teams & players are shooting it less and less and less every year. And NBA teams are scoring 114 PPG this season compared to 98 PPG on average 10 years ago. Big reason is that they're shooting half as many midrange shots. I've watched Micah's recent video 4 times now and I cringed pretty hard at most of their points. He does not mention stats or numbers or percentages a single time. You gotta understand that trainers are trying to sell you stuff. They can sell you more moves and ideas if you believe that the midrange is valuable. Nash, Jokic, Kawhi, KD, Klay, Kyrie, Lebron, Tatum, Dirk, CP3, Luka, Harden, Lillard, PG13, Embiid, Booker, Carmelo, Butler, Kobe, Wade, Derozan, Iverson and Curry shoot on average 43% from midrange. If the best of the best in the world can't even crack 45% at midrange why even bother spending time on practicing it. Attack the rim for a > 60% layup (and get the most efficient shot, the free throw) or shoot open threes at > 35%. That's how you score efficiently and win games. I think the burden of proof is on you: Why should we shoot a 40% shot that is worth 2 points?
@@CoachFrikki Yea I agree I believe midrange doesn't have to be completely ignored, but three's and layups should be emphasized for the most part. In ur biggest basketball myths video u could've added this concept about the midrange and how it shouldn't be emphasized as much for players
@@CoachFrikki What is expected in basketball these days is the 3-point shot, what do you think is the positive impact of the driving motion? I asked this question because I am coaching a younger generation of basketball players and would like to know your thought.
Open 3 pointers and open layups go hand in hand. When you get better at one it opens up the other. Becoming a shooter will open up layups for yourself and your teammates. Becoming a slasher will open threes for yourself and your teammates.
