Thanks for the tutorial, just what I needed to remove my shock. My shock was installed with the lower damping adjuster on the left instead of the right side of the bike.
Lowered my old NC750X 30mm using Lust dog bones. They say 3:1 ratio so I lowered the front 10mm. Shorter side and centre stands are a must. Hopefully it'll make life easier for Jo.
Thanks for this video. Are the two black bushings that come with the kit even required? I came across a new in box kit on ebay that the seller said was sent to him without the bushings. I bought it but aomc doesn't have just the bushings available for sale right now. I am considering going ahead with the project but hope I can just change out the spring. By looking at it Im not sure why its advertised with the bushings when all you do it remove shock, replace tbe spring, and reinstall it.
Thanks for doing this.... question now that youve rode a bit like this.... Does the front fender hit the bike at all from sliding the forks 20mm? Im considering doing this technique 🤔
No it’s fine, id only lower the forks if you have the spring kit though, without the rear lowering spring you could alter the bikes handling dramatically
Thanks for this video! I just bought this bike today and I'm on my tip toes! Did you lose a lot of ground clearance with lowering it and if so, did that affect the off roading? Thanks for your videos!
So you did not install the included spacers in the front forks? Looks like you slid the tube up in the triple instead. That was really the only thing stopping me from getting this kit. Really did not feel like dealing with taking the forks apart. did you run into any issues with the fender hitting the radiator using this method? Most of the bikes I've lowered used links in back and sliding fork tubes up about the same amount.
@@nicksepisode thats 325 dollars. Wow. That is one disadvantage with the KTMs, they don't have dog bones like a lot of other bikes. Nice bike though, I'd love to have one.
thanks mate for this straightforward installation video, ridesafe always
@@grey8607 thank you
Thanks! Now I'll buy that lowering kit with confidence that I can install it!
@@CarolGessell you’ve got this Carol !
Thank you for making a straight forward how-to video without what everyone else does - which is yammer on forever before getting to the task.
Cheers Pete, i like to make my video's exactly this way 👍
Awesome job my friend! Thanks for the information! Me and my hubby and my little KTM appreciate it! 👍🤘✌️
Any time!
Yeah, l like a bit of 'Eine kleine nachtmusik' when working on my Hornet. Can't beat a Rossini overture though when working on the braking system 😆
very motivating indeed!

Ah, perhaps hers needs to go up another 10mm making it 3:1
Thank you We totally use your video to lower my KTM adventure much appreciated
Glad to help
Great tutorial as usual Nick.
Thank you
To lower the front 20 mm, was it literally undo the bolts and slide them down 20 mm and tighten them back up? Thanks in advance.
Yup easy as that 👌
Hello....does the front fork bottom out or hit anything on the bike now since taking away the 20mm ? I'm considering doing this.
@user-bn7xz3mf5q no it doesn’t it’s fine to be honest
Thanks for the video! It was very helpful.
Thanks for the feedback, makes it worthwhile :)

bushings are for the front shocks, you dont have to use them, just drop them from the clamps as in the video
Those "Greggs: sliders make me laugh!!! Great video buddy!
I wanted the Crocs for added toe protection but ended up with the sliders, lol. Safety first !
Will this shock fit a rc 390?
Not sure. I doubt it to be honest

off roading wasn't effected, however i wasn't very adventurous off road lol

Sliding the forks up worked a treat. Bikes rides absolutely fine. Highly recommended 👌
Does the short shock have the same dampening adjustment as the original shock?
Yeah it does
Can a 5 ft person can ride with these adjustments?? @ Nicks Episodes
You will be on tippy toes but the bike is light to not intimidating
What shock did you order?
Genuine ktm part from the power parts section on the website
Great choice of music! I thought this procedure was going to be a lot more complicated with back wheel off etc.
not like my GS lol major operation on that thing, but the KTM was a breese.
@@nicksepisode You made it look so. Well done.
I'll bet Jodie likes the lowered bike. Don't have to tippy toe all the time.
yeah she's loving it
Cool vid! So are you buying an 890 Adventure to replace the 390?
No, Jo will be sticking with this for a while yet.
@@nicksepisode Sorry, I meant what will you be riding now Jo has the 390 :)
I now have the bmw r1200gs:)
how much mm can lowering kit make it shorter? Original size is 850 mm i guess
this offers a 25mm lower seat height
How much does that cost?
250 pounds, a bit steep !

You missed a trick in showing a before and after of you or Jo on it
oh damn !
How tall are you?
5ft9 with a 29 inch inner seam
Now Jo is using the KTM, have you sold the BMW 310?
Yeah it's now gone to a good home
And you didn't have to dismantle half the bike to remove the rear shock 😂.
I know, right?
